I stood up from the mattress, facing Donna who remained seated in one of the wooden chairs by the small table.

“Do you know where Beta Carter’s brother is staying?”

Puzzled, Donna nodded.

“Alright, please join me,” I mumbled, grabbing my cloak that was hanging beside the drawer.

“But why, Luna?”

With heavily furrowed brows, I looked back at Donna. “What do you mean why? I’ll help his brother. After all, Beta Carter helped me from almost dying last night and even gave me an ointment for my lash wounds.”

“It’s time to repay his kindness,” I added, fixing the hood of my red cloak.

Donna stood up from her seat and faced me with a wrinkled face as if she were in deep trouble.

“Look, Luna, I understand what you meant by repaying Beta Carter’s kindness, but how exactly are you gonna pay him back?” she asked, scratching her neck.

I shrug. “I’ll see if I can help cure his brother?”
