Chapter 56 - Bitter Coffee

Brayden's POV

I was dumbfounded at the fact that I didn't listen to their conversation but the emotions welling up inside me were enough to let me know that things weren't going well. I felt her fears and was embittered. The more her fears grew, the more I wanted to intervene. However, I held my peace till I couldn't take it anymore. I got down and began walking towards Sawyer's car when Cora alighted and ambled towards me.

I took her into my arms but she was shivering so I held on longer and tighter till Sawyer drove past us. It was obvious he was vengeful and I felt the need to warn my father but then, thought against it. Sawyer has been over his Luna. He won't go making trouble right?

"It's okay, you are with me now," I said softly. Her hold grew tighter.
