Chapter 3 Luna’s attention

After the ceremony concluded people start leaving. I am still waiting for enough people to leave so I can move.

I shoved my way about halfway in the crowd so now I’m stuck and surrounded. I look around to see where Reggie went & also to look for my parents.

All of a sudden I see HER looking right at me! It caught me by surprise. Luna Eve is standing along the side of the crowd by herself just STARING at me!

Why is she acting so WEIRD I wonder to myself! She walks towards me and my heart goes erratic with anxiety and fear! Fear of what people might think! Fear of what the Luna wants with ME!

I start breathing faster and faster til I’m almost hyperventilating. She ACTUALLY walks INTO the crowd as she KEEPS eye contact and orders me to stay.

With a big weird smile on her face, she begins to say that she needs a laborer to help break down the stage. She also adds that she will have a driver drive me home after.

After again, looking me up and down, she turns around and heads towards the pack house. Not wanting people to notice my extreme uncomfortableness I maintain my composure.

I start walking to the side of the crowd towards the stage. I unzip my jacket, take it off and place it around one of the chairs. I then move that chair off the stage along with the others.

I take a look around and spot a toolbox. I open it to see it full of tools. I take out a hammer and start breaking down the stage piece by piece.

Thank God my dad is a carpenter and I know how to do a tear down I think to myself. The crowd has finally completely dispersed and it’s just me taking each board off one by one.

This job should’ve had a few other helpers I think to myself as sweat starts dripping down my face and onto the boards. It’s summer time and I’m a sweater.

At least an hour goes by, it’s very hot and I’ve been working really hard. I would‘ve normally been tired by now and needing a break but I don’t because of the change happening. I can’t stop sweating tho.

Sweat is just trickling down every inch of muscle I have as I break apart the boards. I start to smell someone coming. My senses are heightened now so I can smell better than ever!

I look around and spot Luna Eve walking towards me. I freak out and end up cutting my finger on one of the nails coming out of the boards. It hurts but I don’t dare make a sound as I’m becoming a werewolf.

Werewolves aren’t weak and never show they’re in pain. She gets close to the stage where I am and looks me up and down as she’s done several times before. She gets close, a little too close and then sniffs.

I stand up as fast as I could out of respect for my Luna. She puts her hands out and grabs my wounded finger. I look at her and she looks at me, then she licks the blood right off my finger!

I am in SHOCK! What is she doing!? “Ummmm Hello Luna thank you I’m fine I am trying to hurry so I can get done.”

I’m not sure if I sounded dumb or what but I was in shock! I don’t know what’s going on with her! I’m too shy to talk to people I don’t know.

“There, how does that feel now” she says. “It’s fine thank you,” I managed to say after a big gulp. What in the world is she doing, i thought to myself.

With an awkward silence and us just standing there, she smiles at me. I feel like I’m a MEAL about to be devoured!

The awkward silence was broken by her. “I brought you a cold drink,” she says while handing me a cold glass of lemonade.
