The tea in my cup was nearly gone, and though its floral fragrance was delightful, I felt uncomfortable.

Remaining composed before that woman, I gazed at her. It had been more than ten minutes since I sat across from her, yet no words had been exchanged between us.

If she was the one who had invited someone else to chat, shouldn’t she be the one to carry the conversation well?

I drew in a breath as I set down the cup I was holding. “Are you not going to speak, Miss Maelina?”

Her long index finger gently caressed the glass she held as she smiled. “I was only observing you, Luna. You are truly extraordinary.”

I returned her smile. I was certain it wasn’t a genuine one. “Yes.” I replied curtly. Soon, I would have to leave her.

“You’ve become a luna twice, and in different packs. Isn’t that in such a short span of time, Luna?”

This time my smile turned into a small laugh, leaving her bewildered. As I rose to my feet, she was startled by what had just happened.
