Chapter 6

Ethan’s POV

The way Mr.James stared at her. Made me want to squeeze his eyes from it’s socket. How dare he? Even with the hard stare she gave him, he still kept on irritating her.

The meeting was finally over. I noticed they were both alone and most of the staff had left already. I escorted Mr. Boltman to the elevator as we both shook hands one last time and he left. Heading back to the conference room, I noticed that philanderer had something under his sleeve. I was shocked to see him glare at her laps, like eye raping her already, stretching out his hand to touch her. How pathetic.

“Don’t touch her!” The word flew out of my mouth, I couldn’t stand it. I walked to Helena and took her up, her soft palm was into mine as I lifted her up, I didn’t let go still.

He left after I scolded him dearly, threatening him with his work.

Helena took her hand of mine immediately he was gone.

“Thank you sir.” she said, she looked into my eyes like she wasn’t afraid of me. But her eyes looked paled.

“Pick up the files and meet me in my office.” I couldn’t even stand her blue eyes, so I walked away, heading to my office.

She came into my office a few minutes later.

“Sir, here are the files.” She dropped them on my desk.

“Don’t let men touch you anyhow.” I spoke without looking at her

She didn’t utter a word and it made me feel a little weird.

“I need a cup of coffee.” I instructed with my attention buried in my laptop.

“Okay, be right back sir.” She said and left my office.

There is just something about her, I really want to get to know her more.

She was back some minutes later with my coffee, while she walked in after I had instructed her to, I glanced at her body, her curves were visible under that long skirt. She is indeed a beautiful woman.

“Here is your coffee sir.” She placed it on my desk.

“Any other thing sir?” She asked and gave her usual formal smile.

There are so many things I want to ask you about but not now.

“You may leave now.” I spoke, and she turned to leave. I watched her walk out of my office.

My doubts about her being a rude person reduced, she has been a loyal person but I won’t still give her all the credits.

It was almost closing hour, other staffs were already leaving, I left my office and I walked to Helena’s office door, I knocked but to no response, I gave the last knock before I opened. I opened the door slightly.

“Helena!” I called out her name and walked into her office. She bent her head to the desk, like someone who feel asleep.

I hope she is fine? I walked quietly to her and tapped her arm but to no response, immediately I raised her head up and found out she passed out.

Oh God I hope she is okay?

I called the ambulance immediately, i never think twice carrying her to my arms walking quickly outside.

“Sir, is she okay? What's wrong with Helena?” Most of the colleagues asked while most starred. I didn’t mind, I was just saving my employee. Immediately the nurses took her from me, placed her on the bed and rolled her into the ambulance.

“Ms. Betty, I want you to follow them. Make sure you text me when she is okay.”

“Yes sir, I will.” She said and joined them. I stood there and watched them drive out.

I hope she is fine. I was worried, I haven’t been so worried since the day I lost my dad, memories of my dad kept on flashing in. He passed away in my hands. The fear of losing someone gripped me, I don’t want it to happen again. She needs to get better.

I walked back to my office afterwards.

“Sir, are you okay?” I looked up to see who spoke.

“Mr. Charles, what brings you to my office?” I tried to ignore his first question.

“I have been knocking, so I had to push open the door, to check if you are in.” Mr Charles said.

“So what brings you to my office?”

“There is a little problem we have in the financial department, we noticed a little shortage.” He said.

“Then sort it out, must you tell me everything?” I scolded him.

“Okay sir, I’ll leave now.” He said and left.

I closed from the office and drove to the hospital where she was. I met Betty.

“How is she now?” I asked, immediately I got close to her

“She hasn’t woken up yet. But the doctors said she will be alright.”

“What have they been doing? Since they left the company to the hospital she still hasn't opened her eyes.” I was so pissed because it felt like they weren’t doing their job.

Immediately a doctor came out.

“Doctor, any news yet?” Betty asked.

“It’s been close to two hours since she left the company to this place and she still hasn’t opened her eyes!” I shouted.

“Please Mr. Manchester we are still trying our best and once she is awake we will run a few tests on her.” The doctor explained.

“Doctor, she’s awake now.” One of the nurses rushed out of a room.

“Okay, I’ll be back Mr. Manchester.” The doctor said hurriedly and left.

Thank goodness she is awake now.

“Finally she is awake now.” Ms. Betty said with smiles written all over her face.

“Yes, I am glad she is awake now.” I said.

“Ms. Betty, you can leave. I'll take care of the rest.”

“Please, I'd like to stay to see her before I leave.” She insisted.

“Alright then.”

After a while the doctor gave us permission to see her. Ms. Betty and I walked into the room.

“Helena, are you okay?” Betty asked as she walked close to Helena. Immediately Helena turned to see who it was.

And our eyes met.
