Tony Woods POV

“What the hell are you doing, Susan? That wasn't the plan, and you know that.

Why did you fuck deviate from what we discussed at home?

Do I need to remind you of everything?” Paul berated Susan for making such a bold statement.

“Oh, come on Paul.

Cut me some slack!

What do you mean that wasn't the plan? Have you forgotten why we came here?

If anyone needs a reminder, it's definitely you because you're missing out on a lot.

I didn't come this far to watch you confront your uncle.

You certainly should have done that some other time,” Susan fired back at Paul.

I watched them argue like kids, and it was starting to mess with my mental health.

They didn't even consider that I was seated in the office.

Angrily I yelled at them, “Can you all stop already?

If you are here to argue like kids, you can as well leave.

I didn't put my schedules on hold just to listen to your trash talks. Are we clear on that?”

My yelling forced orderliness in the office as absolute stillness took over the atmosphere.

“What's the matter with you two? Why are you acting like kids?

Was this the reason you came here?” I got more infuriated just when they thought I was done talking.

I couldn't deal with the fact that my wife was cheating on me.

And now, Paul and Susan want to destroy my eardrum with their irrational argument.

“Now back to you.”

I redirected my focus to Susan after I had calmed the situation.

Before I asked further questions, I shut the door.

I also called the secretary and told her to cancel all my appointments for the day.

The happiness and stability of my home were more important than some bloody appointment that could still be arranged.

“Did you just say my wife is cheating on me?

And what proof do you have to back your claims? If it turns out to be a prank, I can assure you that the prison uniform will surely look good on you,” I asked Susan for the second time.

I added a bit of threat to see if she was going to change her mind about talking.

She didn't respond immediately.

All she did was narrow her gaze to Paul while trying to pass a message across to him.

“I know this may sound crazy but I just gotta tell you anyway,” Paul cleared his throat and sat down even when I never asked him to.

“After you kicked us out of your house last night, your wife approached me with an offer,” Paul halted just to keep me locked up in the conversation.

Unknown to him, he was tossing me around.

And the one thing I detest was being kept in suspense for too long. It makes me lose a couple of brain cells.

“Speak, Paul.

I don't like suspense,” I warned him.

My impatience and rage were getting the best of me. I wasn't certain how long I intended to hold on to my rage.

“She agreed to speak to you on our behalf. However, there was a condition attached to the offer.

She wants us to have a one-time stand,” Paul divulged after several delays.

I shut my ears indefinitely and pretended as though he weren't referring to me.

For numerous minutes, I stayed mute and hoped that Paul would debunk his claims and call it a prank, but he never did.

He still sat right in front of me, glaring at me In the eyes while waiting for my reaction.

“Are you there, sir?

Did you hear what I just told you?” He called my attention again to remind me.

That was the moment I knew he wasn't bluffing. His lips didn't tremble. And his eyes barely blinked.

I paid attention to his heartbeat and the rate was normal

“Of course, I heard you first time, you son of a bitch,” I slammed the desk in frustration

I needed some time to process what I just heard.

I could feel this sudden hotness inside of me as though I had taken a vacation in the sun.

“Are you sure about this? Have you proven it?” I questioned Paul further after gathering all the momentum I needed.

“Yes, we do,” Susan responded instead.

Right under my watchful eyes, she brought out her phone and played some recordings to prove that Paul wasn't lying after all.

“We recorded the telephone conversation when Paul called your wife to ask the perfect spot to have sex with her.

She wants to be aware of our plans.

We dug a pit for her, and she fell inside of it,” Susan buttressed.

“Nah! This is definitely some AI shit. I don't believe any of it.

My wife can't do that to me,” I doubted them despite the multiple pieces of evidence that were presented on my desk.

Somehow, I sensed an atom of foul play in everything they just said.

It's difficult to accept that my wife could be cheating on me.

If she could do that to Paul, then she certainly has been sleeping around with different men I am not aware of.

When I got separated from my first wife and was going through a series of depression, Angela came into my life.

She came at the right time just when It felt like my life was heading in the wrong direction.

When I was on the verge of giving up, she gave me hope to be loved again.

And now, the same person who restored smiles to my face has returned to replace them with sadness.

Pathetic stuff!

“We know it may be difficult for you to believe, hence the evidence.

We figured that was the only way to convince you further,” Susan added.

“Oh, your wife is calling now.

I guess she's at the hotel already,”

Paul called my attention

Instantly, my ears stood up, and my brows furrowed together as I ordered them to put the conversation on a loudspeaker.

I considered it my day of reckoning.

Tony Woods POVAfter the departure of Paul and Susan, it took a while for me to regain my sanity. I didn't know where I was anymore I kept on talking to myself like I was losing my mind. I was this close to booking a therapy session to fix the damage that Angela caused in my life. It felt as though I was living the life of someone else. I had a lot in mind to do, but I had no idea how to go about it. I was afraid that my decisions might be costly. I lost count of how many times I've canceled some important meetings that could be beneficial to my company. The meetings weren't relevant to me even though I was quite aware of how detrimental it would be for my company “Should I seek a divorce immediately and end this torment that has taken over my life completely? Or should I stick to Paul's advice to take things slowly?” I asked myself while the voice echoed back to me.It breaks my heart even more that I couldn't find that one person to share my pain with and get the solution

You don't have to force yourself and do this," Paul asked me for clarity. He needed to be certain that I was making the right choice. It was a simple question, yet difficult to respond to. I wasn't even certain what I wanted anymore, even though I asked them for more. That one question from Paul shattered the thoughts in my head.I wanted to satisfy my curiosity quickly. At the same time, I would rather not have my heart broken.Devastated, I rested my head on the desk like a lost soup while making the deliberation within me.While trying to decide for myself, Paul's phone rang again. Without asking further questions, I knew it was Angela calling again.“Uncle, she's calling again. Do you really want me to answer the phone?” Paul asked me. My heart was beating faster. Tony Woods POV“Yes, your wife, Mr. Woods. And you might want to pay attention to me to experience a longer life span. Kicking us out of your office might be detrimental to your existence.” Paul said to me. His utterances conveyed so much authority I hadn't witnessed before.I saw a different Paul.He didn't speak to me in that tone when he visited my mansion with Susan last night.I can't help but wonder what might have gotten into him.Hearing Paul speak made me more angry, and I didn't hesitate to yell at him. “Paul, one more word from you and I'll kick your ass. Haven't I warned you never to say a word?” Just like the last time, I thought yelling at Paul would make him panic and stop talking. However, I was wrong. Rather than sealing his lips for eternity, Paul went all out to confront me. His voice was so loud that it got the attention of my office assistant who showed up looking so worried. “Boss, I heard a scream from your office. I had to rush down here immediately. D

Susan's POV“Yes, that's me. And who are you and what do you want from me?” Angela responded in a suspicious tone. She was still trying to figure out the person behind the voice. The moment Paul introduced himself, Angela's tone changed. She suddenly became so excited and anxious. She sounded like she'd been waiting for that moment all her life. “I am willing to accept your offer. Can you please suggest a nice hotel for us to meet? I just got dressed,” Paul asked. He tried his best to sound convincing to avoid Angela from getting suspicious. “Sure! The address will be forwarded to your phone. I am not asking for too much. After the sex, all your problems will be over,” Angela reassured Paul and ended the call. Seconds later, Paul's phone beeped. It turned out to be a text from Angela describing the hotel of her choice. Attached to the test on WhatsApp were some of her explicit photos, just to keep Paul turned out.Paul and I felt relieved, even when the mission was yet to b

And when I grabbed the phone, I saw Ethan's name popped on my screen Instantly, I had a mood swing. When I thought I'd be going to bed with a happy soul, Ethan's unexpected call ruined the party. Paul said something and I failed to respond. That was the moment he knew something was wrong.“It's Ethan, right?” He returned to me.I tried to deny who the caller was, but it wasn't working.Paul already caught my secret, which made it difficult for me to deny it further. “Fine!
