"So will he send someone," I ask Daniel as soon as he puts his phone down.

"Yes, he is sending three members of my old pack... Sam, baby, you have to calm down. Benji and Lewis are most likely following a slow moving herd through the park. You have to remember they are trying to make it seem like our entire pack is traveling and hunting. They are also trying to make sure they get captured on as many game cameras as possible. You can't be stressing like this it isn't good for you or the baby. Let me take this one okay," Daniel says as he moves around his desk.

He drops down into a crouch beside me before taking my hand.

I try to give him a fake smile and nod, but my actions stop midway. The fear I felt when I first learned they were overdue has gone nowhere. I'm still just as scared as I was an hour ago.
