Having an out of town trip for less than a day is not my thing. But there’s something in my mind that told me to just go, and have fun. But how can I have fun when I received a bad news when I finally got home that night after the party?

“Joon, be a darling and fly to Seoul.” My mother was talking too fast at hindi ko kaagad na digest sa utak ko kaya natahimik ako, tapos bigla nyang sinabi yon.

“He’s alive, right? I don’t really have to go there.” Tanggi ko.

“Don’t be stubborn, Kim Jae Joon!” My mother’s voice shivered. “This is not a laughing matter.”

“It’s not. I don’t see the difference of me being there. He can survive it, he’s a bad person after all.” My words were full of disgust.

“Stop talking like that about your father.” Then she cursed in Korean.

She called me to tell me that my father just got a heart attack and
