IV

When I saw him, my heart began to pound in my chest. Damn it, I wanted to avoid this man as much as possible, but it was clearly time to face him.

With trembling legs, I approached the table where Dilan was sitting next to Alpha Michael, who couldn't stop laughing out loud.

I tried to calm my nerves as much as I could, but remembering everything that had happened in the bathroom with Dilan made my stomach churn.

“Wow, these waiters are useless... Don't they know it's Christmas Eve and they should be quick?” Michael's mocking voice said.

My hands were shaking as I sighed heavily and placed the plates on the table. However, at that moment, I almost dropped a plate, but in seconds Dilan caught the plate in midair and placed it on the table.

I opened my eyes in amazement, but I understood that he simply didn't want me to continue embarrassing the other alphas.

On the other hand, when I finished serving their plates, one of the alphas nodded with a slight smile. “Thank you very much,” the man said.

With one eyebrow raised, I was about to turn to the alpha, but at that moment Michael snorted and, abruptly rising from the table, threw a couple of glasses on the floor.

“Stop being so slow and pick up this damn mess,” the man suggested, followed by a couple of grunts coming from the other side of the table.

“I... I'm sorry...” I said.

I quickly knelt on the floor and began picking up the pieces of glass. Damn, this was one of the worst humiliations, but after a couple of minutes, these men got up and left the restaurant in silence.

As soon as the door closed, I fell back to the floor and finally let out a sigh of relief. My knees and hands were covered in cuts from the glass, but when I bent down to wipe myself on my shirt, I realized I was still wearing Dilan's jacket.

With a grimace, I grabbed the end of the jacket and sniffed it. Damn, Dilan's scent was permeating this thick fabric. The smell of pine, melting snow, and pure authority.

However, when I realized what I was doing, I quickly shook my head and let go of the jacket. What the hell?

I didn't dwell on my own actions and got up from the floor.

After organizing everything, I left the restaurant, but just as I was crossing the parking lot, I heard two voices in the distance. With a grimace, I walked quietly and slipped behind a pillar.

“Wow, so that's the Omega who betrayed your mother?” Alpha Michael's clear voice echoed.

“Yes, apparently she lives here,” Dilan said in that easily distinguishable voice.

“Ha, I don't know why you didn't kill her. She's a traitor, she deserves to die,” said Alpha Michael.

But within seconds, Dilan was heard saying, “There was no need. She's just an omega, she doesn't even have a wolf.”

“She's a useless omega,” Alpha Michael continued.

I didn't want to hear any more of what those men were talking about, so I walked away and continued on my way.

Fortunately, the moon was at its peak, illuminating the entire street, while everyone seemed to be at home. It was the magical silence of midnight on Christmas Eve. I enjoyed the cool breeze, until suddenly a voice was heard in the distance.

“Kate...”

My body almost froze and my steps stopped. Did I hear right? Was that Dilan?

Without thinking, I turned slightly and almost fell flat on my face when I saw a luxurious black car pulling up beside me. I peered out and my eyes widened when I saw Dilan behind the wheel.

“You shouldn't be walking alone at this hour. It's Christmas Eve, Katerine, people are celebrating and the roads aren't safe,” he said as he opened the car door.

As soon as I saw him get out of the car, I took a step forward and kept walking. “If you have any complaints about the service, you can send a letter or wait until we open tomorrow,” I said, holding his coat tightly closed over me.

Damn, for some reason, I felt like this man would hurt me, but the more I walked, the closer he got to me.

“No... it's not that... I just... I just think it's dangerous for you to be alone,” he said, walking beside me.

In fact, Dilan seemed anxious, as if he wanted to tell me something but it was stuck in his throat. However, I ignored him and waved my hands in denial, but before I could say anything, I heard his voice again.

“I... I'm really sorry about what happened at the restaurant. My friends behaved badly, but...” he tried to say, before stopping right in front of me to block my path.

“You don't have to apologize. I'm used to this kind of humiliation,” I said.

But as soon as he heard my words, his eyes turned completely black and he gritted his teeth in anger. “Kate...”

Despite Dilan's domineering and arrogant aura, I tried to maintain what little dignity I had left from when he dragged me all over the place and threw me out like a traitor.

However, Dilan frowned slightly in disgust as his gaze fell on my chest. The fabric of his jacket, which he was still wearing, was the only comfort against the cold of the night.

At first, I thought he was going to say something else, but then I understood everything: it was obvious that he had only come back for his jacket.

“It's your jacket, right? Don't worry, I was going to send it to your mansion after removing my scent from it,” I said.

I didn't even wait a second before I started taking off my jacket, exposing my chest again, wearing only my bra.

Why the hell was I doing that? Was I undressing in the street? Still, I acted completely normal. I didn't want Dilan to think I was going to steal his jacket.

After taking it off, I handed it to him with my hand outstretched. “There you go, we're even,” I said.

On the other hand, his eyes were wide as he seemed to swallow hard.

“Cover yourself up now!” he shouted, grabbing the jacket to put it over my shoulders.

But before he could do so, I took a step back.

“What are you doing? I don't want your help, I want you to leave me alone,” I said, turning away.

I didn't want to hear his answer, so I started walking without looking back, hearing him sigh a few steps behind me.

But what the hell was wrong with this man? He was driving me so crazy that even I had walked down the street wearing only a miniskirt and a bra, showing off my breasts.

The next morning, I got up as early as usual and, after making the twins' lunch, headed straight to the restaurant. However, just when I thought the day would be like any other, I walked into the restaurant and found a large crowd.

“What's going on? Isn't today, Christmas Day, supposed to be a holiday for the town?” I asked, a little confused.

“Don't you know? The businessman from yesterday decided that we should serve at the big party that will be held in the main square! It's a Christmas celebration for the town, organized by the Alphas. Now we'll be world famous!” Caroline replied from across the room.

As soon as I heard that, I felt a chill run through my body. Was this really happening?

“Damn it!” I wanted to respond, but Dalila approached me with a frown. “Kate, I want you to take care of everything tonight. It's the biggest event we've ever had at Christmas,” she said in that soft voice.

Once again, I found myself between a rock and a hard place. “Okay,” I said with a fake smile.

“Oh my God, this is going to be so exciting! We can even wear fancy dresses instead of waitress uniforms! It's a Christmas party!” announced Daniela, jumping for joy.

“That's right, God, Kate, you can wear that beautiful black dress we bought. It's so sexy!” said Caroline.

These girls had no idea how horrible it would be for me to see those damn alphas again, but as always, I kept quiet and followed orders.

A couple of hours had passed and all the girls had gone to get ready. Meanwhile, I was in the restaurant sending out the last trays of food, but just when I thought there was no one left, a mocking voice sounded behind me.

“Well, well, if it isn't the omega who betrayed everyone. I see you're just a dirty slave now!” said Alpha Michael in that disgusting voice that made me want to punch him.

“I'm not a slave, I'm a hard-working woman and I like what I do,” I said with great pride.

Hearing my words, Alpha Michael let out a mocking laugh and took a step toward me. I backed away, but just as I was about to take another step, my back hit the wall.

His horrible breath hit my face as his hand slid from my arm to my hips.

“I must say, you're still the same useless omega, but it seems these attributes have grown on you... Perhaps the time has come for someone to use them to their advantage. It would be a great ending to this Christmas Day.”
