I’d barely gotten my bearings after we teleported to my family’s living room before Dad pulled me away from Aidan and hugged me. I knew he’d be worried. It didn’t matter how skilled or high my marks were in every training I’d undergone. My dad was still my dad and, therefore, would worry about me. Plus, this was the first time I’d truly put my years of training into a live combat situation. So, I was not offended.

“I’m okay, Dad,” I assured him.

“She might be okay, but I’m not.” Pamela declare
