“Go to Avesni street and deliver the goods,” Marco commanded Patricia.Patricia resisted the urge to shoot him and retorted, “It is not my f**king job to deliver any goods.”Marco raised his index finger, “Don't curse in front of me.”Patricia yelled, “It is not my f**king job!” ignoring his warning.Marco said, “Stop swearing, I'm going to lay down some rules for you to follow.”Rolling her eyes, Patricia imitated Marco's tone, “Stop swearing, I'm going to lay down some rules for you to follow,” irritating Marco further. He glared at her and said, “Rule number one, don't annoy me.”Patricia chuckled, “That would be really difficult to do, I'm really an annoying person.”“Then you get fired, or punished in a way you can't explain,” Marco said, smirking evilly.“If you want to punish me mentally, physically, and emotionally, I'm way past that side. So nothing can affect me,” Patricia retorted.Marco laughed and waved his finger at her, “No, you can't explain. It is a lot more than that.
Patricia impatiently tapped her foot as she waited for the door to open. Finally, she heard the jingling of keys and the door swung open to reveal a short, muscular man with an abundance of tattoos. She couldn't help but smirk at the tattoo on his upper arm - two flaming swords crossed with a black scorpion perched on top.She forced a smile and looked up at him. His rugged face and scraggly ponytail made him look like he just walked off the set of a biker movie. "Who are you and what do you want?" he gruffly demanded, eyeing her up and down."Hey sexy," he wolf-whistled, licking his lips. Patricia rolled her eyes, unimpressed.Ignoring his advances, she pushed her way inside. "Can I come in?" she asked, taking a seat on the couch."Babe, you're already in," he replied, winking at her. "In fact, you're in my heart." Patricia couldn't help but roll her eyes again."Anyway," she said, "you ordered some jewelry from Marco Lux, right?""Yeah, so what?" he asked, clearly annoyed at the inte
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Patricia asked with a smirk, not bothering to hide her amusement."You heard me right? You work for me now." She strutted back to the chair that was in front of him.He scoffed. "I'm not interested in working with someone who killed my friend.""Your friend? That dude is your friend?" She chuckled mockingly, using her gun to point at dead Dan. "Okay, I don't understand why you considered him a friend, but does he consider you one?" She raised her perfect, slender brows at him, giving him a lopsided smirk."He does in his own way, I think.""You think?" she quipped."See, I'm not working with you. Just kill me," he said, his voice firm.Patricia snorted. "For someone who is trying to escape torment, you're really dooming yourself to eternal suffering. The devil doesn't chill. I might get tired of tormenting you, but not the devil and his demons. Or do you think God will welcome a bloody criminal into his heaven?" She laughed. "Well, that is only if you acc
Patricia stood with one leg in the car and the other leg outside, her hand resting on the door. Marco's question had thrown her into deep thought, and she was unsure how to answer it. Hearing a tap on the window, she breathed out, regaining her composure. Slowly she stared at Marco, whose eyes were scanning her face, wondering what had made her zone out."My address?" he drawled with an eye roll. "I need your address to drop you home," he said in a 'durh' tone.It had not occurred to her that he would ask for her home address. Now thinking about it, she realized it was silly not to have considered it. How on earth was he going to drop her off at her house without knowing the address? She sighed, trying to come up with a solution. If she gave him her location and he found out that she lived in a mansion, it would be suspicious. She didn't want to go home by herself either. She mustered up a fake smile and said, "I'll direct you, just drive," before entering the car fully."Don't talk to
Patricia woke up to the sound of her alarm going off, accompanied by a throbbing headache. She sat at the edge of her bed and glanced at the ringing alarm clock. It was already five o’clock in the morning. She let out a yawn, stretching her hands above her head and still feeling sleepy from the all-night research on the highers. Unfortunately, she found nothing as they were too secluded.“It won't hurt to sleep a bit more,” she said to herself as she slowly dropped her body back onto the bed. Her intention was to sleep for just a few minutes before preparing for work, but those minutes turned into hours.Suddenly, there was a vigorous knock on her door, jolting her out of her dreamy state. With a groan, she pushed herself out of the warmth of her duvet and stood up. Groggily, she made her way to the door, scratching her eyes. The keys jingled as she unlocked the door. She pressed the silver doorknob down, dragging it forward and opening the door.“What do you want?” she asked an angry-
"Sir, please, let me explain myself," Patricia pleaded, following him to his office. He turned swiftly, his expression demanding an explanation. "What do you have to say? That your alarm clock malfunctioned and you overslept? Or perhaps there was heavy traffic on your way here? Are those the excuses you're going to give?""No," she lied, the words slipping from her mouth against her better judgment. In truth, she wanted to tell him that her clock had stopped working, causing the alarm to go off at the wrong time. But now, hearing him say it out loud, it sounded like a terrible excuse. And it was.She bowed her head, avoiding eye contact, trying to make him feel her fear.He nibbled on his lower lip, his arms folded across his chest, staring at her intently. Perched on the edge of his desk, he observed her for a moment before speaking. "If that's not the reason, then tell me a better excuse."She sniffed, adding a few tears for effect. "Sir, it's not an excuse. It's the truth." He rolle
Cami's glare softened as she recognized the CEO's secretary standing before her. "You're really rocking that janitor's attire," she commented with a chuckle, eyeing the blue slacks paired with a button-down shirt and loafers. Despite the ridiculous outfit, Patricia still managed to look pretty with her hair pulled back in a bun."Just like you're not destined for the CEO," Patricia retorted, a mischievous grin on her face as she enjoyed getting under Cami's skin."For your information, we are destined to be together forever," Cami insisted defiantly.Pat laughed. "Yes, in your dreams. You should find a better guy to flirt with. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Stop chasing after something that's not meant for you.""He is mine," Cami asserted, her voice seething with anger. "No one can take him away from me, not even you.""Do you feel threatened by me?" Patricia asked, an amused smile playing on her lips. "It's quite entertaining that you think I'm capable of stealing the CEO away
Pity shimmered in their eyes as they gazed at the wounded lady, utterly shocked at Camilla's audacity to harm such a helpless soul. The reason behind the attack remained a mystery, and only Lainey held the answers. Patricia appeared visibly shaken, making them hesitant to pry further, fearing it might worsen her condition.Overwhelmed by the sympathetic atmosphere, Patricia mustered the strength to speak up. "Guys, I'm fine, just a few scratches here and there," she said, awkwardly pointing to her face and hands while letting out a chuckle. "Nothing to worry about, really." As she waved her hands above her head, she accidentally jabbed her own stomach, causing her to wince in pain.Concerned, they rushed to her side, assuming her discomfort was a result of Cami's assault. "See? You're not fine. Your face is completely bruised. You need to get a medical check-up," one of the women in a pink flowery top, neatly tucked into her smarty pants, insisted as she examined Patricia with a worrie
