MasukRonald’s POV
The office was quiet after Anna left. The only sound was Derrick crying on the floor. I stood there staring at the empty door. My hand still felt warm from holding her phone. My skin felt like it was buzzing. Every part of me wanted to run after her and hold her until she knew she belonged to us.
When she first ran in and shot my brother, I thought she was a spy. I thought an enemy pack sent her to kill us. I was ready to kill her. But then she moved. She breathed. She looked at us with eyes full of fire.
The Moon Goddess does not make mistakes. She gave the two most powerful Alphas a mate who has no wolf, rides a bike, and carries a gun.
"Get him out of here," I said. My voice was as cold as ice.
The guards grabbed Derrick. He looked like a broken toy. As they dragged him away, I thought about the video I saw on her phone. I saw how the pack treated her. I saw them throw her into the mud like she was trash.
I felt a heavy weight of guilt in my stomach. While Ryker and I were away for eight years, our pack had become mean. They had bullied our mate. They had insulted the most important person in the Silverfang Pack because she was a "weak" omega.
"They laughed at her, Ryker," I whispered. My claws started to grow. "They threw her out into the rain."
Ryker was leaning against the desk. His eyes were glowing gold. He touched the cut on his shoulder and smiled. It was a scary look. "I know. And we will make them pay for every tear she cried. But first, let’s go get her."
We didn't need a map. An Alpha King always knows the smell of his mate. We walked out of the palace. We ignored the guards bowing to us. When we got outside, we changed into our wolves.
My wolf was a huge golden beast. Ryker’s wolf was a giant black monster. We ran through the Silverfang land. Our paws hit the ground like thunder. We didn't care if the pack leaders were watching. We didn't care that she didn't have a wolf. All we cared about was her smell. It smelled like rain and wood.
She was close. She was hiding in a small, cheap apartment. It was a place for poor people. It made me very angry. Our mate was living in a dump while Derrick lived in a palace.
We reached the building and changed back into men. Ryker fixed his jacket. He looked very serious.
"She is scared," Ryker said, sniffing the air. "Scared and angry."
"She has a reason to be," I said.
We walked into the building. The stairs made noise under our weight. My heart was beating very fast. I was an Alpha King. I had killed many enemies. But standing in front of this girl made my hands shake.
We reached her door. I could hear her breathing on the other side. She was waiting for us. I could smell the gun oil and her leather jacket.
"Anna," I called out. I tried to keep my voice calm. "Open the door. We need to talk."
There was no answer. It was very quiet.
I looked at Ryker. He was ready to kick the door down. I held up my hand to stop him. I didn't want to scare her. I wanted her to trust us.
"Anna, we know what they did to you," I said louder. "We saw the video. We are not here to hurt you. We are here to take you home."
"I am home!" she yelled from inside. "Go away! I don't want a mate! I don't want a pack! Just leave me alone!"
Her voice was full of pain. It hurt my heart. She had been treated so badly that she didn't believe in the mate bond anymore. She thought we were liars.
"We are not leaving," Ryker growled. "You shot me, little wolf. You have to talk to me."
I took a deep breath and knocked again.
Suddenly, the locks clicked. One. Two. Three.
The door opened. She was standing in the middle of her room. She looked amazing. She wore her black leather jacket and tight pants. Her hair was pulled back tight. Her red lips were pressed together.
But she had a gun. She held it with both hands and aimed it at my chest. Her eyes were strong and brave.
"One more step and I will shoot both of you," she said. Her voice was steady. She wasn't shaking at all.
I looked at Ryker. He was looking at her with hungry eyes. He didn't care about the gun. He loved that she was a fighter. He loved that she didn't care about our titles.
I looked back at Anna. I could see a golden string of light connecting the three of us. It was the mate bond. It was glowing in the dark room. She felt it too. I could see her eyes get wide.
"You can shoot me if you want, Anna," I said softly. I took a small step toward her. "But you belong with us. And we are going to destroy anyone who hurts you."
Anna’s finger was on the trigger. She looked into my eyes. She was trying to see if I was lying.
I looked at my brother. I knew what he was thinking. The hunt was just starting. We had found our Queen. We would not stop until she was sitting on the throne with us.
"The Silverfang Pack belongs to us," Ryker said in a low, scary voice. "And you belong to the Kings."
Anna's POVThe deafening crack of thunder shook my soul, and the blinding explosion of platinum and crimson light didn't push me into the dark, it snapped my eyes wide open. I could feel Ronald's hand over my heart, burning like liquid gold, and Ryker's hand beside his, pulsing like a heavy furnace of molten silver. The two royal Alpha sparks didn't fight each other inside my chest cavity, they collided, swirled, and fused directly with my own starving dual wolves."Ronald, hold on," Ryker roared, his teeth grinding together so hard the sound echoed off the stone walls, his muscles bulging as the crimson chains wrapped around his thick wrists."I am not letting go," Ronald screamed back, his fingers digging deeper into my shirt, his face twisting in absolute agony as the fire traveled up his arms. The pain inside my stomach stopped instantly, the savage tearing of my gold and silver beasts pausing as the massive rush of the twins' energy flooded the empty void Derrick had left behind.
Ronald's POVThe frozen silence that had locked the ruined chamber suddenly snapped like thin ice, the dust motes dropping back to the floor as time rushed back into the room. I gasped, my fingers twitching against Anna's freezing shoulder as a strange, glowing white light rippled outward from her chest, gently pushing my hands away."Ronald, look," Ryker yelled, his voice cracking as he pointed a trembling finger at the glowing form hovering right at the foot of Anna's body. "Elena, how are you doing that? You are, you are glowing."I scrambled backward on my knees, my breath catching in my throat as I stared at the translucent, peaceful spirit of our mate's mother. "She is not alive, Ryker," I whispered, the realization hitting me like a physical blow. "She is a spirit, she is speaking to us through the threshold.""Listen to me, Kings," Elena's spirit said, her voice sounding like a soft breeze rustling through dry leaves, echoing gently off the cracked stone pillars. "Anna's inter
Anna's POVThe roaring of the giant black beast echoed through the chamber, but the sound felt miles away, muffled by a thick, heavy blanket of black frost that was settling deep inside my chest. I lay flat on the freezing stone floor, my naked skin shivering violently against the dust, my limbs completely paralyzed as the sudden, unnatural emptiness inside me began to cave inward. The majestic platinum current that had filled my veins just moments ago was completely gone, leaving nothing but a hollow, agonizing vacuum behind my sternum where the vault had once rested."Anna," Ronald’s voice screamed from the entrance, his boots skidding wildly on the gravel as he rushed into the room, his eyes widening with pure terror when he saw me lying on the stones. He didn't hesitate, throwing himself down onto his knees beside me, his hands shaking as he lifted my head, pulling my shivering body into his warm chest. "Ryker, help her, she is freezing, the bond is completely gray.""I have to ki
Ryker's POVThe mate bond didn't just snap, it exploded inside my chest like a grenade, tearing a ragged gasp from my throat as I stood at the edge of the smoking trench we had used to hold back the five alliance packs. A sudden, terrifying wave of icy numbness washed through the psychic link, replacing Anna's cold, divine platinum resonance with a sickening, hollow vacuum that made my inner wolf howl in pure agony."Ronald, something is wrong," I roared, grabbing my brother by his blood-stained shoulder, my yellow eyes spinning with a frantic panic. "The bond, it is bleeding out, she is emptying."Ronald’s head snapped toward me, his pale face turning completely gray under the black dust as he felt the exact same phantom needle piercing his own heart. "The vault," he breathed, his voice cracking with horror. "She went back into the mountain, Ryker, she is dying in the dark.""Elena, stay behind the defensive line," I commanded, not waiting for a reply as I spun around and sprinted to
Anna's POVDerrick’s words hung in the suffocating darkness of the ruined chamber, and the absolute silence that followed was louder than the chanting inside my head. His bare fingers were still resting against my burning neck, and the raw, heavy wave of grounding energy flowing from his skin was the only thing keeping my mind from splintering into a million pieces. The relief was intoxicating, a sweet, dark poison that tempted my human heart, making my inner wolves stop their frantic pacing and lean greedily toward his touch."You think you can just slide your way back into my life after everything you did?" I whispered, my voice thick, layered with a dangerous, platinum vibration that made his eyes widen in fear. "You think a few pretty words about ancient texts will make me forget the years of shame, the suppressants, and the way you flaunted other women in my face?""I did what I had to do to survive this pack, Anna, and now I am doing what I have to do to save you," Derrick pante
Anna's POV"You think I would ever trust you again?" I muttered, my voice dropping an octave as the platinum light flared brighter around my knuckles, the heat radiating off my skin making the air warp between us. "You kept me weak, Derrick, you spent years slipping poison into my food while you crawled into beds with other women, and now you expect me to believe you want to help me?"Derrick didn't flinch, keeping his palm flat, steady, his expensive cedarwood cologne fighting against the heavy stench of burnt copper and old stone filling the dark vault chamber. "I didn't keep you weak because I hated you, Anna," he said softly, taking a slow, smooth step closer, his eyes locked onto my changing irises. "I did it because I knew what Magnus was planning, I knew your bloodline was the only key to this place, and I knew that if your wolves woke up too early, the sheer volume of the Prime essence would burn your human soul right out of your skin.""You did it for yourself," I hissed, a d
Anna's POVThe envelope felt warm in my hands, like it was alive. I stared at my grandmother's handwriting on the front, she'd been dead for two years but seeing her words made my throat tight."Do you want us to leave?" Ronald asked gently."No, stay please." I needed them here, whatever this lett
Ryker's POVI woke up to bright lights burning my eyes and the smell of antiseptic filling my nose, my whole body felt like it was on fire. I tried to sit up but strong hands pushed me back down."Don't move," Ronald's voice said above me. "You're still recovering."I blinked until my vision cleare
The ritual room was dark and very warm. The only light came from black candles that flickered on the stone floor. The air was thick with the scent of sandalwood and the heavy, musky smell of two Alpha men. Tonight was the night I would stop being a weak, wolfless girl. I was going to become the Lun
Ronald's POVI stood in the war room staring at photos of the dead guards, each one had those same carved letters, 7 DAYS. Marcus and I had been investigating for three hours but we had nothing."We need to call the Council," Marcus said quietly. "Four guards are dead, this is beyond pack business
