Lunch At Business

“You both realise this is the first birthday I will have spent with him? It is always ‘I’m out with the team’ when I ask.” Liam sulks.

I laugh slightly, no doubt because Liam is a fool. I have yet to meet any of Jackson’s friends, but I can only imagine they are more grown-up than Liam. We don’t say anything, all of us standing quietly. A couple of seconds later, Jackson emerges.

“Sorted, there is a table being reserved for us. We will wait for Roxy and then set off. Liam and Georgina, you go together. Me, Alena and Roxy will go together. How is Roxy getting here?” He looks at me.

“Fine with me, Jack.” Liam grins. Jackson glares at him.

“Enough, Liam or your arse will be sitting outside on the steps.” Liam nods.

“Sorry, Jackson.” I look at Jackson, deciding now to answer me.

“Taxi, apparently.” He merely nods, smiling.

“Right, no going upstairs, at all. I don’t care what you are doing; you do not step a foot upstairs. Okay?” Jackson stares at Liam, waiting. Liam nods, still smiling.
