It's a man, tall, dressed in dark clothes with a cap on his head. The security watchman. And he is coming at me. Fast as a bullet. My atoms panic and my legs bolt as if having intelligence of their own. I run and run through the concrete path as I hear couple of heavy footsteps slapping against the wet ground, charging after me. "STOP!" I hear another growl. I don't dare to look back, but I know the security guard is gaining as I feel him running with an intensity of a storm. And in an instance, he slams into me from behind, pushing me to the ground like a WWE wrestler. Air whooshes out of me and I hit the puddle of muddy water with the guard on top of me. "Let go off me!" You motherfucker! I twist beneath his weight and try to fight my way out by elbowing him. But the watchman blocks my every blow and flips me over, that I fall on my back, right into that muddy puddle. I try to wiggle out of his strong grip, but he lunges forward, catching each of my wrist in his hand before I can swing at him again. "I said let go off me." I scream at the dark shape above me and below the dark sky. But he straddles me roughly and keeps me pinning down like a caged bird. "And why should I let you go, Mr Stone?" His breathing heavy from exertion as he says, "After all, you are trespassing on my property." I freeze. My heart stops, but the rain continues to pour from the above clouds. I hear more footsteps approaching us, and I blink my eyes at the man on top of me. He is not the watchman.. He is the devil himself. Dakota Black. The lightning bolt that hit me was none other than him. He was the storm that chased after me and tackled me down like a mad bull. And now, I am under his blackness. Dark clouds hover his head but nothing else catches his eyes, other than my quivering body under him. A shiver races from the top of my neck to the end of my spine as I watch him above me. He is huge. Unhinged, unflinched. "You are a bad.. bad kitty." He growls, lowering down to my face. "Do you have any idea how much trouble you have caused me?" My breath hikes as his fingers tighten on my wrists in anger. His strength is immense, and it somewhat scared me. "I-I Mr. Black.. Aye wanted to talk to you about something very important." I feel breathless under him, under his gaze that sharpens like a murder weapon. "By intruding on my property like a thief?" Dakota growls lowly, while keeping those heinous eyes on me as if I'll dash out if he didn't. "I am not a thief!" The bold side of me takes over and I stare square back at him. "You know exactly why I am here, Mr. Blac-" "And you know I have every right to call the police and get you arrested right now, Mr Stone." He scowls, dangerously leaning down to me till we share the same breath. I couldn't move, nor think beyond the idea of being thrown into jail for just climbing a gate. And this sudden realization was enough to shatter my confidence knowing, he was one step ahead of me. "Mr. Black.." I lick my lips and he narrows his eyes threateningly. "There has b-been some misunderstanding. And I-I am here to clear it." My teeth clatter with fear and cold. Wet clothes stick to me like a second skin while I stay frozen in the pool of water. Dakota crooks his eyebrow up with a silent gaze. His deep eyes run over my heaving body like moving rivers as he thinks deeply. I take in more air than needed to calm my raging thoughts that I am still under him and he dominately hovers from above, while the watchman is standing a little far, watching us confusedly. "Perhaps we should finish this discussion inside. Where we both can be comfortable." He says while letting go off my wrists. Blood flows through my veins and I feel my hands again, which were numbed with his harsh hold. His weight and warmth lifts from me but I stay on the ground, catching my breath with the effect of his closeness. His stubborn woody scent still lingers on me despite the pouring rain from above. I shake my wet hair strands and sit up. I am completely drenched in the muddy water and my hair, it is sticking everywhere on my face like an octopus. "Mr Stone." When I look up, Dakota is holding out his hand for me. His palm is extensive than my face. There are calluses on the edge which screams he lifts heavy weight and his fingers, they are incredibly thick and long, with no ring on it. My wet hand reaches out for him and grabs his hand. Warmth from his flesh pours into mine and I shiver feeling the temperature difference. His fingers curl around my hand tightly and he pulls me to my feet as if I weigh nothing. My legs disbalances and I almost slam my nose, digging into his chest. I look up, but not at his deep fucking eyes. His expensive looking Armani suit is completely drenched in water with dirt sticking to its black cloth and tailored white shirt. I can't believe he out ran the guard to catch me! The watchman stares at us awkwardly, with a series of confused expression on the face. Whereas his boss still holds my hand tightly in his grip, as if I'll sprint the moment he will let go. I take a step back from his closing figure when he grabs me by my waist in a wrestling move. "What are you doing?" I gasp when he yanks me off the ground and throws me over his shoulder like a sack of cabbages. "What the hell do you think you are doing?" My ass plums up in the air indecently and I scream at the top of my scared lungs, but he doesn't respond. I kick my legs at him and he instantly grabs me by my knees with his other free hand. "Put me down. I can walk myself." I yell in frantic. My bellies slip from my feet but he continues to walk like a blind horse. "I don't think so, Mr Stone." Dakota says calmly, holding on to my hips. "A. I don't want you to run again. B. I don't want to chase you again. And C. I don't trust you, so this is better this way." He explains it like a presentation. "This is not the time for a joke. Get me down." I scream at him. "Yup. Definitely not." He says while tightening his grip. I peek my head above his shoulders and through my falling hair strands, I look where he is taking me. A gasp of air releases from me as I see his enormous villa getting intimidatingly closer and closer. And at last, the brute carries the prince of farland to his unholy and unescapable castle.I hear a growl louder than the thunder and my head jerks up in frantic. I book a cab and after two hours of impatient drive, we reach the high building of HighBar Systems Co. But it is nothing like before. The gate is grounded with extra security while people with cameras desperately fetch for snaps. And that's when I see him, among the chaos of flashlights and cameras, emerging like an unfazed tornado who doesn't care about your garden or sheeps.Dakota Black. The unbeatable Alpha. My body quivers with goosebumps, remembering the close confrontation with him in his cabin. I still remember his raw masculine scent that my brain rebels to forget, and his eyes. Those deep fucking eyes under his thick lashes that penetrated into me like a shard of broken glass.Too easy, and too much ache.I feel my bones melting and my chest rising with deep breaths as I stare at him from across the road, sitting in a cab. It is not difficult to spot him among the dozen frenzied paparazzi. With a height, he stands tallest even among his bodyguards. A black color umbrella tow
The project! I sit up instantly. My assignment is due today. Funny how serious I've become about my studies after everything that happened. I thought I lost everything. Not really. Just my mind. And I lost it badly. Three years ago, I had a full Britney Spears-style breakdown and chopped off all my hair. I couldn't stand looking at those blue strands anymore. They reminded me of being treated as someone's replacement and then thrown away like a used condom afterward. Even now, my nerves tense whenever those whiskey-brown eyes flash through my memory. The memory of his hands still sends cold shivers through me.So I cut off the one thing he loved. My blue hair. And that wasn't even the worst part. My parents completely freaked out. My mother cried when she saw me bald. My twin brother became absurdly overprotective. They dragged me through therapy, monitored me constantly, and even now they hate letting me stay alone for too long. I miss my privacy. I went from bei
"What happened? Did any issue occur?" The man with round glasses rushes toward me, followed by the tall cameraman. I still don't know their names. "Nothing. Everything went fine." As I answer, I glance down and notice the black steel pen still in my hand. Dakota's pen. "Really? Then why did it take so long?" I frown. "Um... what?" "The interview was scheduled for twenty minutes. You were up there for more than forty-five." My eyes widen. "WHAT?!" . . . The editor watches me with a sly Cheshire-cat grin as I sit quietly across from her desk. "How was the interview?" The rude woman from earlier has vanished completely. "Good." And I almost got my head bitten off by your ridiculous questions. With a slow nod, she lowers her glasses. "I heard he kept you in his office for nearly an hour." Then she winks. "Oh, no! It's not what you think." I shake my head immediately. "The recorder died, so I had to write everything down manually." How do I explain that he looked r
"Are your claims about your track record hold true?" I read a random question only to realize it too late. Too-fucking late! I regret asking him this question, just like I regret what I did to him three years ago. Like a horror movie, I watch his face harden like granite. He lifts a long finger and presses the pause button on the recorder. The green light blinks orange and my heart loses a beat. "Are you fucking kidding with me, Evan?" Dakota inhales sharply and I watch the glint in his eyes turn dark, animalistically. Adrenaline rushes through my bones as I hear my name spoken in a threatening way, indicating I have stepped into a danger zone. "I-I-no. It's not my question. It's written here." Blood drains from my head and I panic breathlessly. He presses the button and the green light blinks again as he straightens his spine. "I am not going to answer the baseless rumours my legal team deals with. That is not something I would waste my time on.” Dakota says it in a flat,
Time freezes. Earth stops spinning. And my heart sinks down to hell as those mysterious green eyes look back at me and I recognise him. Dakota.. A brooding beast in the form of a man. Slide show of my disturbing past plays in the theater of my head and suddenly my muscles contract in panic as he narrows his eyes in vex as if he recognised me. He had a perfect life. They called him Alpha. And now he is slowly standing while watching me with those toxic green eyes that burn on my flesh. Hair pricks under my clothes and I can feel my height sinking low as if my six senses sensed danger. Cough I look back at the secretary who is waiting for me to step in while she still holds the door. A part of me wants to flee away from his cabin, his building, his life coz the way his gaze hardens at me, I know he is not pleased to see me here or alive. "Please. Come in." His deep voice echoes in the cabin and I shudder feeling the nostalgia. My body still remembers the spine-chilling shivers
