Alpha James

I felt an idiot having been carried into the house by Alpha James I mean it was nice to be in his huge arms and be held by him but even so, god I felt embarrassed.

“How do you feel now sweetheart?” Alpha James asked.

“Um yeh I’m ok, am sorry for what happened.”

“It’s fine.” He smiled at me then gave a wink.

What the fuck. I shook my head to get my head back to normal if you could call what’s inside my head normal. Just then Rose came in with a cup of tea. I took it then looked up at Levi. He brushed a bit of hair from my face and smiled.

“You ok Syd?”

“Yes I will be it was just a shock seeing him here. How did he find me?” I sipped at my tea.

“I will have some warriors patrol the borders Levi! and I will be out checking tonight.”

I looked up between Levi and Alpha James.

“Don’t worry Syd you and the kids will be safe.” Levi said.

“Yeh but what does he want? I broke the bond with the pack and rejected him as my mate and Alpha.”

“Hmm but did he accept Sydnee? Because if not he is still bound to you.”

“James! Sydnee left Clay she renounced them all when she crossed the border.” Levi told him.

“Ah well that explains it then, unless he accepts the rejection he is still bound to her, so able to find her no matter where she is.”

“Well that’s just great! Now what am I going to do.?” I all but yelled.

“Syd calm down ok! We will fix this.” Levi said as he sat beside me and hugged me.

I lent into him as I had missed a father figure in my life. I felt safe with Levi. I put my cup of tea on the coffee table and stood up. I needed to start dinner. I made my way into the kitchen and got the ingredients out to start making dinner.

Levi shouted “Syd you fancy me doing a bbq tonight?”

I stopped what I was doing as I heard the children coming down the stairs shouting.

“Yes please a bbq mommy.”

I laughed and Levi walked into the kitchen. He got everything he needed to go fire it up.

Alpha James not far behind him.

“Uh Alpha Stephen would you like to stay for dinner with u?”

“I’d loved to thank you Sydnee.” He smiled like a Cheshire Cat.

“Syd.”

“Excuse me.”

“Syd. You may call me Syd.” As I looked at him.

He smiled then walked out to the back to help Levi.

Just then there was a knock on the door. It opened and in came Dexter and Simon.

“Hi Sydnee all chores are done for the day.” Dexter said.

“Thank you guys, look we’re bbqing for dinner your more than welcome to join us if you like?”

“Oh yeh kool I’m in.” Simon laughed, punched the air and practically ran to the back door.

I chuckled as Dexter helped take the drinks outside. The twins grabbed their plastic cups and followed me out back.

There was laughter and Simon was playing football with the kids.

“Goal.” Shouted Simon.

“Hey that’s not fair,” pouted Gemma.

I smiled and shook my head, I placed the drinks down on the picnic table. I poured the twins a drink while levitating dished up the steaks.

“Kids common grubs up.” Shouted Levi.

“Yay,” they both shouted.

They both ran to the table and left Simon there holding the football.

“Hey you can’t just run away, I was winning.”

He dropped the ball and walked over to the table. We all sat there digging into our food, the children were talking and laughing totally enjoying themselves. I heard the side gate open and on walked Alpha James.

“Hi guys, this looks fun.”

I smiled at him, “Do you want to join us?”

“Don’t mind if I do,” he walked over and sat down beside the children.

“Beer Alpha?” Simon asked.

“Please.” He replied.

The talk got lively and everyone was relaxed talking and chit chatting in general. Simon got back up and the children got up and followed him to play football again. I started clearing the plates away and taking the left over food inside. The guys stayed outside talking whilst having a drink.

After I had cleared the kitchen I made myself a coffee and walked back outside I laughed when I saw them all playing football. I stood there watching until it started getting dusk. I didn’t want to break up the game but the children needed a bath before they went to bed.

“Common you to, it’s time for your bath!”

“Ah mum do we have to, we’re winning against Alpha James!” Jay shouted.

“Yes now common or you will be tired when you go to school in the morning.” I stood there waiting for them.

The guys finished up and walked back to the house with the children. Jay came in first followed by Gemma and ran upstairs ahead of me. They guys said there goodbyes then left.

Alpha James walked out with Levi and stood outside the main front door talking. Once I had bathed the children and got them settled into bed I headed back downstairs to get the children’s school clothes ready for the morning.

I stood in the kitchen making their pack lunches before I made a hot cup of hot chocolate and went and sat out the front. When I opened the door I saw Levi and Alpha James still talking. I took a seat on the front porch and looked around the ranch. Levi saw me and headed back to me while Alpha James turned and left heading for the ranch tree line.

“How you holding up kiddo?”

I looked up at Levi, “ I’m doing ok, just a little tired.” I smiled.

“That’s to be expected,”he lent over and took my hand.

“Syd, Alpha James is running the borders tonight, he told me to tell you he will call in to see you tomorrow morning before he heads back to his pack.”

I nodded to him.

“Alright kiddo, I’m off to get a shower then I’m heading to bed. I’ll be back in the morning. Oh and don’t forget we need cattle feed in the morning.”

“Sure thing, breakfasts at 7am don’t be late.” As I smiled at him before I got up and headed back inside.

I put my cup in the sink and made sure the house was locked up for the night. I slowly headed upstairs and grabbed a bath towel from the cupboard and headed into the bathroom. I stood under the hot water flowing down over my head and felt the stresses of the day disappear down the drain. I heard faintly wolves howling in the distance so I turned off the shower,got out, dried and put my pjs on. I headed to my room and got into bed. I turned off the beside lamp and snuggled up in the duvet and felt myself drifting off to sleep.
