“Hey where do you think you’re going?”

Sophie stopped where she stood and turned around, glaring at the man she walked back.

He smirked and sat back against the chair.

“Payment first Sophie, you know how this works “

“Fine.” She glared at him. “Where and when?”

“10 minutes my apartment, I will be waiting, and don’t think of pulling any shit.” He pushed his chair back and stood up. He strolled past her and left.

Sophie stood there until he was out of sight, then she got up and left heading towards his apartment. Sophie turned the corner and looked before she came out of the alley way. When she saw the coast was clear she stepped out and started walking.

The guy lived in a run down area where gangs and criminals hung out. But Sophie walked right through the area with no problems.     Meanwhile at Clays pack, everyone stood bracing themselves. The sounds of crashing and smashing was echoing throughout the pack house. Clay had a report that Sydnee was in fact fine. He thought at least she would be more timid now. Just then the door to his room opened. “Alpha Clay! Pull yourself together.” Elder Brook yelled at him. Clay turned and looked at the elder. He stalked towards him but Elder Brook just stood there and never moved. Clay stood and looked into the Elders eyes. “Do not come into my house, into my room and tell me to do anything” he screamed. “Alpha Clay, the council members are downstairs, you best tidy yourself and come down.” The Elder bowed to Clay and walked out. Clay stood there trying to rein in his temper, it didn’t help that he was also trying to control his wolf. “I want my mate you asshole, you hurt her she will never want us again.” Max growled at Clay. “Shut up you mutt, she already has a new mate. But she will come back.”

    James took hold of Sydnee’s hand and led her up the stairs. Her nerves were going crazy right now. Stop it, she scolded herself. This is your mate. I mean I’ve done this before, but oh no what about my stretch marks? Clay had told her many times that having the twins had ruined her body, he always wanted the light off when they slept together. Sydnee lowered her head, her heart pounding against her ribs, while she was scared for James to see her body. What if he is repulsed? She thought. “James, I need to check on the children before you know uh before we go to bed.” James smiled, “I’ll come with you.” He led Sydnee to the twins rooms. Sydnee crept into Jays bedroom only to see Gemma sleeping next to Jay. Both sprawled out and fast asleep.     By 6pm in the evening people were turning up for the bbq. Sydnee’s was running around frantically as she was still unpacking the meat that had arrived late. “Syd, leave this and go get ready! We can unpack the meat.” James told her. “Yes but!” “No buts just go get ready. We can handle this. Now go!” “Ok ok I’m going, oh shit we’re are the children?” “Don’t panic, Dose is upstairs with them getting them ready.” James placed his hands on her shoulders and pulled her into a hug. “Go babe, and stop panicking.” “I can’t help it. I’ll be right back.” As Sydnee sighed and took off up the stairs to her room. Outside horns were sounding as more people started to turn up in their cars and trucks. By the time Sydnee came back downstairs the back yard was full of people. Music was playing and People were coming up to her and introducing themselves, Sydnee felt overwhelmed and her palms started to sweat. Levi noticing her becoming a little anxious with people she didn’t know

    At the ranch, Sydnee was getting the back yard ready with rose for a big bbq. Since they got back Levi thought everyone needed to lighten up. Everyone especially Sydnee was on edge, always checking everywhere, never allowing the children to go to far from the main house. Even not letting them go see the farm animals with Rose. Things were definitely a little tense. So he had suggested a big bbq. Sydnee thought it was an excellent idea. With it being the start of the weekend she had a lot to do. But she also knew she was being over cautious and needed to lighten up some. Alpha James was always on hand to help if she needed it. After Levi had mentioned the bbq to him he thought it was just what Sydnee needed to get back to her old self. He needed her to realise that she was safe and surrounded by loved ones. So James did what he thought was best he invited pack members and their children, he thought it was a great way to introduce Sydnee, Jay and Gemma to everyone. “James!

    Clay got up and walked to the bathroom adjoining the hospital room. He quickly washed himself and walked back to his bed with a towel wrapped around his waist. He sat on the bed waiting for Kieran to bring his clothes. He felt humiliated and embarrassed, being attacked like that in his own pack and he never saw it coming. How could Sydnee leave just like that? Didn’t she feel anything for me? Did she really feel anything for Alpha James? Is he really her second chance mate?
