A frustrating day

last update 公開日: 2026-05-04 02:38:07

KAI

I woke up after a disturbing sleep, grunting as I sat up in bed, only to freeze when I noticed the patch on my shorts.

You've got to be fucking kidding me!

I lifted the waistband and took a glance. Did I freaking have a wet dream? Impossible! The last time I had those was years ago when I was a fucking teenager…it must be a mistake. It had to be.

I'm just too old for that.

Waking up to a disturbing scene almost made my day worse. First, I couldn't find my favourite cup. I could have sworn it was on the counter when I went to bed last night, but it seemed to vanish.

After that, it was my favourite pair of boxer briefs. The same pair I had folded two days ago, and had planned to wear for a new contract signing, had, just like my favourite mug, vanished without a trace.

It took me hours of practically searching every corner of my room, then my house, to realise they were freaking missing. I don't even use a dry cleaning service, so I knew they weren't in someone's place.

And if that wasn't the worst, my freaking neighbour parked behind my car because apparently a psycho parked in his spot. I had to call his flat before he came down to remove it.

By the time I arrived at work, I was at the limit of my patience. My eyes had circles around them, and I hadn't even had any caffeine in my system. The search for my boxer brief had taken most of my time.

“Good morning, boss!” My receptionist, and a worker I didn't recognise, greeted me the moment I stepped in.

I waved at them as I rushed towards the lift, still fucking pissed at the universe for the sick joke she's playing.

However, when I stepped into my office and saw a steaming cup of coffee, all that frustration vanished. I hurried over to my desk, tossed my briefcase on my couch, and practically dived for the cup. I took a large gulp of the coffee and breathed out a sigh. As the hot liquid slithered down my throat to my stomach, it seemed to lift my spirit. I no longer felt that urge to snap the head of any that so much as looked at me.

I took the cup and walked around my desk to my chair. I took a sip before I sat down, placing the mug on the desk. I had never appreciated my secretary as I did at that moment. For the first time since I employed him four years ago, he actually brought coffee in, and it was at the moment I needed it so badly. Who knows what I would have done if I hadn't taken that sip?

My sour mood was lifted, along with the weight of the chaos that had plagued my morning. It seemed like a simple cup of coffee had the power to turn my day around completely. As I settled into my chair, feeling the caffeine kick in and the warmth of the mug in my hand, I couldn't help but smile.

Maybe the day isn't lost after all.

With a newfound sense of determination, I opened my laptop and got to work, feeling more focused and energised. And as the day went on, I found myself being more productive than usual. It was as if that cup of coffee had given me a boost of motivation that I desperately needed.

By the end of the day, I had accomplished more than I thought possible. I even found my missing boxer brief tucked away in a drawer in my office, even though I couldn't even recall ever bringing it to the office. It was as if the universe had decided to give me a break after all the chaos earlier in the day. I thought of the positivity instead of dwelling on why the new boxer brief smelled washed.

Have I perhaps worn and washed it, and forgotten? Probably. With Dad's talk about marriage and settling down, I wouldn't be surprised if I forget some little details.

A knock came on my door a few minutes before closing time. I hadn't seen my secretary all day. It wasn't odd. We mostly spoke through the phone, aside from when I needed him physically present.

“Good evening, sir,” Edward greeted, stepping in and closing the door gently behind him. I nodded, with my gaze on my laptop, reading off the last sentence of the contract. It was my last work for the day, and I was ready to clock out.

It wasn't every day that you get a free night and….

Shit!

I hope I didn't jinx this.

“Sir, you have dinner with your dad tonight.”

“Fuck!”

Talk about jinxing it. I knew I shouldn't have thought about a free day. I always end up getting something for the day.

I quickly closed my laptop and stood up, running a hand through my hair in frustration. Dinner with my dad was the last thing I wanted to do tonight. We always end up arguing about something or the other.

“Tell him I won't make it,” I said, reaching for my jacket. “I'm busy.”

“But you're not. He —”

“Won't know you lied.” I walked towards him. “Postpone the meeting,” I said, patting him gently on his left shoulder. “I'm done for the day. After all the madness, I don't think I can afford to meet him. I might end up crashing.”

“I can't possibly —”

“That's why you get paid, Edward,” I cut him off before he could continue. “Cancel.”

“Okay, boss.” Gulping, he bowed and stepped to the side as I walked out of my office.

I wasn't lying about being drained. I fucking needed to crash early.

I stopped at a restaurant to eat dinner before I returned home and went straight to bed, without even bothering to change. The second my head hit the foam, I was out.

“Again,” Stein said, in an almost detached voice. “This time, mean it.”I swung again, harder this time, because there was freaking no going back. The crack of leather against skin was freakinly loud in the quiet room. This time, the falls caught the chain between my clamps, and the yank sent a spike of pain through both nipples. I bit back a moan of pain because I couldn't contain the sharp sound, and the flogger dropped from my hand, clattering to the rug.I bent over, gasping as I braced my hands on my knees. The welts were like lines of fire across my chest, and the chain was cool against the heat. My cock throbbed in the ring, painfully hard.Stein didn't move. He just watched me with an almost bored look, as if challenging me to do more with the whips. Bastard. I straightened slowly and bent to pick up the flogger. My fingers closed around the handle, and I looked at him. I'll show the bastard how fucking good I am. Let's see who has the last laugh after I'm done with what I h

“Put these on yourself.”My breath caught. I hadn't expected that. I'd assumed he would do everything to me, and that my role was to receive, endure and take what he gave. I didn't think he would be crazy enough to make me participate. He held them out to me, and I reached up with both hands and took them from his palm. The steel was cold against my fingers, the chain cool and smooth. I looked down at the clamps, and I felt a wave of nausea that I swallowed down before it could reach my mouth.“Whenever you're ready,” Stein said.Seeing his words as a challenge, I brought the clamps to my chest. I didn't want him to win this. Since he's determined to do it this way, I'll have to endure until he gets tired of it. My nipples were already hard from the cold, so there was no need to make them hard. I positioned the first clamp at the base of my left nipple, and the rubber gripped against the sensitive skin and squeezed. The pain was immediate and bright. The sharp pinch radiated out thr

KAII had all the time in the world to change my mind after I saw that smirk on his face. Undoubtedly, I knew tonight wouldn't be all roses, yet I didn't take my words back. I had promised him, and I would seem less of a man if I took it all back. We cleaned the kitchen before tidying up the house. Thankfully, the damage wasn't that much; otherwise, it would have taken a cleaning crew to get everything done. After cleaning up, I went to my room to wash up while he did the same, but not before asking me to come to his room when I'm done. I took my time with my bath, knowing that things would take a freaking new turn when I stepped into his room. I got dressed in a simple cotton round-neck polo and shorts before I went over to his room. I skipped dinner because of everything. From the disaster I caused in the kitchen to the favour, he asked. I doubt I could stomach any food. At his door. I stood outside for a few minutes before knocking and going inside. Stein was looking for someth

“No?”“No,” I repeated as I turned him to face me. His eyes were bright with embarrassment, and I wanted to kiss every trace away. “You're not throwing it away. I'm eating it.”His jaw dropped. “Stein, it's burnt. It's probably raw in the middle and burnt on the outside, and the rice is—”“I don't care.” I released his wrist, only to cup his face. “You made this for me.”“I ruined it for you,” he corrected, looking at me like I had somehow grown two heads, and he was only realising it. “I can't even do this one thing right. I wanted to—” He swallowed hard. “I wanted to do something for you, for once. Instead of you always doing things for me without me giving back. I wanted to give you something.”“You are,” I said, and I meant it more than I'd meant anything in my life. “Kai, look at me.”He did. He looked at me with those pretty blue eyes, which were swimming with emotion.“You've done more than you would ever imagine for me.” I placed a kiss on his forehead. “The thoughts alone are

STEINIt was working. I came at the right time, like a damned knight in shining armour, and stole the day. I knew even before his words of thanks that he would be forever indebted to me, which was why I decided to throw some crumbs his way. I'll let him believe things are about to turn out well, then drag them away. By then, he'll be too grateful to me that he wouldn't think twice about giving his all to me. He'll be willing to get on his knees when I ask him to, unquestionably. Until then, I need to pay my cards well. Which I had been doing for a week now, cleaning up the mess I caused, while acting like I was seriously helping him out. My phone dinged with a message, and I smiled. For the first time, Kai was actively contacting me. He sends messages every few hours and always calls whenever I am running late. This was the side of Kai that I didn't know about, and I freaking love it. Now that I had thought of what I wanted, I couldn't wait to return home to tell him that. It would

“Mr Stein.” Jackson recovered first. “This is a closed board meeting. I'm afraid your presence isn't—”“Required?” Stein finished, walking straight to my side. He didn't touch me, but he stood close enough to make a statement. “I disagree. As the largest individual shareholder in this company, I believe my presence is not only required but necessary.”The room went silent. I turned to stare at him. “What?”He didn't look at me. Instead, he kept his gaze fixed on Mr Jackson. “Didn't Kai tell you? I purchased Mr Sherlock's shares a week ago, and the Jax portfolio yesterday morning.” A slow, dangerous smile curved his lips. “I'm now sitting on thirty per cent of this company. Which makes me, if my maths is correct, the second-largest shareholder.”“That…” Jackson's face turned into an alarming shade of purple. “That's—that's not possible. Those shares weren't on the market.”“Everything is on the market, Mr Jackson, for the right price.” Stein finally turned to look at me, and for just a
