Plan B

Amelia's POV

I became Kessler's Luna after he marked me as his mate. While leaving the Paxon pack, I noticed the disappointment in their faces but I ignored them and still smiled at them.

Elena came closer, pretending to hug me, and said, "Watch your back because I'm right behind you." Elena whispered to my ears.

I hugged Elena back and muttered to her, "I'm always waiting for you to strike." I whispered.

I bet the words didn't sit well in Elena's ear as she hissed at me before walking away angrily.

It's been a year since I became Kessler's Luna and he's yet to lay a finger on me.

Since today marked our one year of being together, I ordered some sexy nightie I was going to seduce him with.

I made sure to order the ones that had holes in them so he could easily see through my skin. Since he was out at a business meeting, I decided to use that opportunity to dress up with a lot of makeup on to make myself look more presentable.

I was done with all my dressing and was about to put on my last erring when I suddenly heard Kessler's car horn.

"He's back!" I muttered as I quickly adjusted my dress above my knees.

While working towards the door, I noticed someone walk past in heels.

"Maybe it's one of the omegas showing off today," I muttered as I opened the door.

I wore a slight heel to match my nightie and stood in the doorway with my hand carefully placed on my waist.

"Why are you dressed like a whore?" Came the voice of Kessler.

I was expecting him to come upstairs but not so soon.

"I...," I stammered.

I just hope he remembers that today marks our first anniversary together. Kessler only came back tonight because we have a very important banquet to attend which we are hosting. 

This year is our turn to host the Alphas from all around the packs and the Lycan king.

I thought tonight would be the best opportunity for us to be together since it's been a year since I became his Luna.

I wasn't just his Luna, I was always attending to important things in the pack while Kessler traveled around.

I haven't had the opportunity to mind-link Kessler ever since we became mates or had the opportunity to have a conversation with him and worse still, I do feel some sharp pain in my mind most times.

"What are you still doing here? Get inside and prepare for tomorrow's banquet." Kessler's voice came harshly.

"I have a visitor around, I don't want to see you wandering around," Kessler said.

He rolled his eyes at me in disgust before walking away. I couldn't stand upright the moment he walked away. I fell, and thankfully, my door was there to hold me down.

I staggered back in pain and walked straight to my bed. Immediately I laid down, I allowed the tears I'd been holding back to flow freely.

I thought Kessler not mating with me for one year was something normal, and I prepared myself well for this very day, not knowing that today would be the worst.

I scattered my ponytail and ruined my make-up as I rolled on the bed. My wolf was just sitting down staring at me as I struggled to get hold of myself.

A few minutes later, I stopped crying and walked into my bathroom but I fell back on the floor due to the heavy pain I felt in my heart.

I held it tightly thinking it was about falling out of my mouth. I quickly rushed to the shower, thinking it would calm me down, but the moment I stepped out of my bathroom, the pain became even stronger.

What could be happening?

Is Kessler involved in anything with his so-called visitor? I asked myself confusedly.

Kessler and I developed a deep connection when we first met in the sense that if he was sick, I was always the first person to know but right now, I'm feeling heavy pains in my heart.

"It seems he's making out with his visitor," so I thought.

I wanted to lay down and sleep but the pain wouldn't let me. I moved to my wardrobe and put on a simple dress while I held onto the wall till I got to my door.

I opened it gently making sure no one was around to see me struggle in pain. I staggered to Kessler's office when he said he would be with his visitor.

I was halfway there when I heard different moans coming out of his office.

The visitor wasn't just there for a meeting with Kessler, he was making out with his visitor.

I continued moving so I could at least stop them and explain to them the pain I was feeling while they were busy making out.

I was about to open the door when I heard a familiar voice that was different from that of Kessler's.

"That voice sounds familiar," I muttered as I proceeded to open the door.

I opened the door and was shocked at what I saw. She truly meant her words.

I looked up and saw Elena and Kessler making out on his office table.

"Elena!!" I screamed in pain.

I closed my eyes tightly, thinking all was a nightmare, but I opened it again and realized that reality had hit me hard in the chest.

"I don't like your office any longer. Why don't we make out in Amelia's room when we come back from the banquet tomorrow night?" Elena asked Kessler, smiling.

He smiled back at her and stupidly nodded.

"Kessler, stop whatever you are doing, I'm feeling pains in my heart," I said, shaking.

"What else do you expect from an adopted child?" Kessler asked.

His words threw me off balance. No one knew I was an adopted child except for Elena and the rest of the family, how did Kessler get to know?

Has he known about this for a long time? That's why he didn't care or bother about me a week after I became his mate.
