DREAMING PERFECTION

~ALICE'S POV~

I stood in front of the shopping mall, staring at the baby mannequin in the window display. Tiny clothes, soft pastel colors—things I imagined seeing my child in.

I arched a brow, resting my hand on my flat stomach.

My gaze shifted as a family stepped out of the shop—a father, mother, and their little daughter, laughing as she clutched a new stuffed toy.

For a brief second, I wondered. P

‘If Edward had seen this... if he'd wanted this... would he have supported me? Would he have loved this child? Would he have wanted a future with her?’

I sighed bitterly, my palm pressing lightly against the glass.

"Who am I kidding?" I whispered to myself. Edward wanted nothing to do with this baby.

With me.

I slipped my hand into my purse, pulling out my phone. Scrolling through my contacts, I hesitated when my finger hovered over Noah's name.

Should I?

I needed a distraction. And he always was one. I hit the call button before I could think twice. It

(A Different person)~HARPER POV~I paced the living room, retracing Alice's behavior since she'd shown up at my doorstep. Her sudden appearance aftergetting into a fight. Her vague explanations about needing a place to stay. The secretive phone calls she thought I didn't notice. And more recently, the annoying behavior she blames on morning sickness.God, how could I have been so blind? The sound of a car pulling into the driveway jolted me from my thoughts. I rushed to the window, relief washing over me when I saw Gideon's sleek black car. He hadn't even turned off the engine before he was out and striding toward the door.I yanked it open before he could knock."Harper," he breathed, taking in my tear-stained face. His arms were around me instantly, solid and secure. "What happened?"I buried my face in his chest, allowing myself a moment of comfort before the storm of questions that needed answers."Edward was here," I finally said, pulling back to look at him. "He told me... he t

(Manipulation) ~HARPER'S POV~My heart dropped as I stepped through the doorway of my own home. The lock wasn't engaged. The door had swung open with barely a touch of my key."Alice?" I called out, tossing my bag onto the entryway table. No answer. The house was quiet—too quiet. I moved through the rooms, checking each, irritation building with every space I found. How many times had I told her about locking up? About basic home security? I picked up my phone and dialed her number. It rang and rang, going straight to voicemail."Alice, it's me. I'm back home and the door was unlocked. Again. We need to talk about your stay here because honestly, this isn't working." I paused, sighing into the phone. "Call me back. We need to figure this out."I hung up, pinching the bridge of my nose. Three perfect days away with Gideon, and now this. Reality crashing back like a cold wave. The doorbell rang, startling me out of my thoughts. I wasn't expecting anyone. Gideon had dropped me off and

SLEEPING WITH THE DEVIL ~GIDEON’S POV~Harper had no idea, how I was getting revenge for her. It was not my fight but I made it mine when Edward tried to lay his hands on Her.She sat a few feet away, swirling her glass of wine, lost in her world as she stared out the vineyard. Clueless. Content.I wanted to keep it that way, but Edward was testing me. Big mistake. I stood up, buttoning my shirt. The vineyard light cast a long shadow over the table where we sat.I reached for my phone, dialing a familiar number. The line barely rang before it was answered.“Gideon” Jessica's voice came from the other end of the line.“I am still waiting to hear back from you” My voice was calm, harper looked my way with a smile and I smiled back. “I am working on it, it is not as simple as you think,” she said“I expect to hear back from you Sooner, remember what is on the line” I reminded her before hanging up the phone.“Who was that?” Harper asked.“Work, love,” I told her, grabbing her wrist an

(SAFE WITH YOU)~GIDEON’S POV~Joshua had just called, laying out the situation clearly, damningly. Edward and Noah had been meeting a lot.Too often. And knowing Noah, it wouldn’t take much for his mouth to run loose. A mistake that needed correcting.I exhaled slowly, rolling my shoulders as I processed my next move. It was time to teach him a lesson. A lesson in loyalty. A lesson in betrayal.A lesson he wouldn’t forget. Before I could reach for my phone again, soft footsteps approached from behind. The moment I heard her voice, my heart skipped a beat. “Gideon,” Harper’s sultry tone echoed from behind me as I stood in the dimly lit living room, a glass of whiskey in my hand. I turned slowly, already knowing what I’d see, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the sight of her. She sauntered like she owned the place, her silk mini gown clinging to her curves like a second skin. The fabric fell perfectly to her thighs, hinting at the softness of her skin beneath. Her legs were long

CANDLELIT DINNER 2~HARPER'S POV~Three days. That’s how long I’d spent with Gideon after taking a very necessary sick leave from work. And honestly? It had been magical. I never wanted any of it to end. Mornings with breakfast in bed. Afternoons with lunch in expensive restaurants.Nights filled with reckless, mind-numbing sex—wherever we found ourselves until we were too exhausted to move.Who the hell was this man? And more importantly…What was he doing to me?Tonight, Gideon had promised yet another surprise. As if everything else hadn’t been enough. When he first mentioned wine tasting, I’d blinked at him in confusion."What's that?" I had asked, immediately regretting how clueless I sounded. He had only smirked, shaking his head slightly. "You're cute when you're clueless."Not exactly an answer. But then again, Gideon never answered things directly. And now, as we pulled up to the event, my breath hitched at the sight before me.A massive vineyard stretched across the land, bat

A PAWN & A KING ~ALICE’S POV~I was still standing there, staring at the door Noah had just walked through, trying to piece my sanity back together. But that was the thing about sanity. Once it cracks, it doesn’t take much to shatter. A low groan cut through the silence. I turned slowly, my stomach flipping as I saw Edward stir on the floor. Another groan, and he rolled onto his side, wincing as he dragged himself up onto his elbows. Blood was trickling from his lip where Noah had hit him, and his eye was already starting to swell. For a split second, I thought maybe he’d pass back out. No such luck.“Mother… fucker,” Edward muttered, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Then his bloodshot eyes snapped to me.And just like that, chaos was back.“You,” he snarled, pushing himself upright with shaky determination. “You bitch.” He stumbled to his feet, swaying for a second, but that didn’t stop him. Didn’t slow him down, either. His gaze was locked on me like I was hi
