Chapter 1

My head struck the dressing table, and I opened my eyes.

Nora had one hand twisted in my hair. With the other, she grabbed the silver-white gown from my bed and tore through the skirt with her claws.

“Why are you wearing this?”

It was the gown prepared for my bonding ceremony tomorrow.

I looked at the calendar on the wall. The date was exactly one day before I was supposed to bond with Julian.

The last thing I remembered was lying on my bedroom floor with Nora’s silver blade buried in my chest. My family had stood nearby, refusing to call the pack’s emergency healers because an official report would expose what she had done.

Now the wound was gone. The room, the gown, and Nora’s hands in my hair were all exactly as I remembered them.

I had returned to the day before the ceremony.

“Nora, let go of me.”

She shoved me against the wall.

“Once you and Julian complete the permanent mark, he won’t come to see me anymore.”

“He is my mate.”

“But he used to spend time with me too!”

Six years earlier, at the request of our family healer, Julian had created a temporary emergency mind-link so Nora could call for help during an episode. It was never a mate bond, but Nora had always treated his concern as something more.

Nora seized the teacup from the table and threw it at me. I moved aside, but the hot tea still splashed across the back of my hand.

The bedroom door opened moments later.

By the time Mother and Ethan rushed inside, Nora was already kneeling on the floor. She had withdrawn her claws and was staring blankly at the ruined gown.

“Mom?”

Mother immediately pulled her into her arms.

“Don’t be afraid. It’s over now.”

Nora lowered her head, and tears quickly filled her eyes.

“Did I lose control again? I only remember seeing Clara in the gown. Then my wolf suddenly went wild.”

Ethan glanced at the torn gown before turning to me.

“The ceremony hasn’t started yet. Why were you wearing it?”

“Nora came into my room, destroyed my gown, and attacked me.”

“She’s ill,” Ethan said with a frown. “You know the gown might trigger her. Why did you let her see you in it?”

“This is my room.”

My blood stained the edge of the dressing table, the tea had burned my hand, and the torn gown still lay between us. Ethan looked at all of it, but his expression did not change.

Mother examined the burn on my hand.

“Your injury will heal soon. Nora almost went completely feral. Please don’t argue with her right now.”

I had heard the same words in my previous life.

Back then, I had tried to explain everything. They still decided that Nora could not control her wolf and that I had provoked her despite knowing about her condition.

This time, I said nothing more.

The pack healer arrived soon afterward and injected Nora with medicine meant to suppress her wolf.

“She has no clear awareness while her wolf is in control,” the healer said. “She probably won’t remember anything she did.”

Ethan immediately looked at me.

“Do you understand now? She didn’t hurt you on purpose.”

“Then why am I the only person she attacks every time she loses control?”

The room fell silent.

Mother adjusted Nora’s collar.

“Because she depends on you most. She is afraid you will leave the Alpha House after the bonding ceremony, and that fear makes her wolf unstable.”

“She depends on you and Ethan too.”

“Clara, she already lost her biological parents.” Mother’s expression hardened. “You are her sister. Can’t you show her a little more understanding?”

Nora leaned against her and spoke quietly.

“I’m sorry, Clara. I truly don’t remember what happened.”

I looked at her without answering.

In my previous life, everyone had made the same excuses for her. Even when she entered my bedroom with a silver blade on the night before my bonding ceremony, they had insisted she never intended to hurt me.

Father did not return from the council hall until dinner.

Alpha Victor had already heard about the ruined gown. He did not ask about my injuries. He simply ordered the housekeeper to contact the seamstress and have a replacement delivered before the following afternoon.

“Members of our allied packs and the Pack Council will attend tomorrow,” Father said. “No one is to speak about what happened tonight.”

Nora lowered her head.

“This is all my fault.”

“You’re sick. You can’t control it,” Father told her. “Take your medicine on time and go to bed early.”

Julian’s pack had spent months preparing for the alliance. Father cared more about keeping the ceremony on schedule than finding out whether Nora might attack me again.

Near the end of dinner, Nora placed a cup of warm milk in front of me.

“Clara, I made this for you. It will help you sleep after you drink it.”

I saw white powder that had not fully dissolved at the bottom of the cup.

In my previous life, I had drunk the milk and slept until late that night. When Nora entered my room, I had barely woken before the silver blade pierced my chest. The sedative had left my limbs heavy, and I had been unable to stop her.

I picked up the cup and held it out to her.

“You drink some first.”

Nora did not take it.

“It’s for you.”

“Then taste it and tell me if it’s still too hot.”

I moved the cup toward her lips. Nora immediately pushed my hand away. Milk spilled across the table, and a small piece of an undissolved tablet rolled out with it.

Ethan picked it up and smelled it.

“This is the sedative the healer prescribed for Nora.”

Mother turned to her at once.

“Nora, why did you put your medicine in Clara’s milk?”

“Clara wouldn’t rest after she was injured.” Nora’s eyes reddened. “I only wanted to help her sleep.”

“Do you know how long this dose would have kept me unconscious?” I asked.

“I wasn’t trying to hurt you.”

She clutched Mother’s arm as tears ran down her face.

Ethan placed the tablet back on the table.

“It’s only a common sedative. It won’t harm a werewolf.”

“She drugged my milk without my permission.”

“But you didn’t drink it,” Mother said as she wiped Nora’s tears. “Nothing happened to you.”

Father ordered the servants to clean the table.

“The bonding ceremony is tomorrow. We are not arguing about this anymore. Nora has explained herself, so the matter ends here.”

Nora remained beside Mother and watched me over her shoulder.

The tablet was still lying on the table, yet my family had already found an excuse for her.

They had made the same choice in my previous life, right up until the moment I died.

  • She Stabbed Our Mother Thinking It Was Me   Chapter 8

Every word Nora spoke in the Moon Temple had been transmitted to the Council.Three days later, she heard the final ruling from a high-security silver chamber. Her charges included attempted murder, repeated drugging and attacks, assaulting a healer, escaping custody, and making another attempt on my life. Each charge was supported by recordings, medical tests, or her confession at the temple.“The Council finds that Nora Hale possessed full judgment during the attacks. Her wolf disorder requires treatment, but it does not remove responsibility for deliberate violence.”She received lifetime confinement in the northern secure treatment district, with a medical review every three years and no unauthorized contact with victims.Nora asked only one question.“Will Father come to see me leave?”Father sat in the gallery without looking up.Nora’s healer admitted that Father had pressured him to describe targeted attacks as unconscious episodes. His license was revoked, and he would face tr

The day after the hearing, the Council informed us that Nora had escaped. Before a memory examination, she collapsed and convinced a healer to release one wrist. She attacked him, reached the delivery area, and hid inside a supply vehicle. Her suppressant prevented a full shift, but she could still overpower an ordinary guard. The Council sealed the roads and guarded the Alpha House and medical center. Father demanded that they avoid hurting Nora, while Mother said nothing in his defense. At four that afternoon, a message arrived from an unknown number.Come to the Moon Temple at six. Come alone. If I see the Council, I’ll visit Mother at the medical center.A photograph showed the temple’s moon emblem beside cloth torn from a Council uniform. Nora wanted me to believe she had injured an officer.I forwarded the message to the investigator and asked the medical center to move Mother to an internal ward. The Council wanted to surround the temple immediately, but I asked them to remain o

Mother opened her eyes late the following afternoon. The silver had left her wolf heart too weak for a mind-link, so the healers allowed only one visitor at a time. Father entered first. He stayed less than ten minutes before coming into the corridor with a strained expression.“She wants to see Clara.”Ethan looked up from the bench. “Did you tell her what happened?”“She remembers enough.”When I entered the treatment room, Mother was propped against several pillows. Thick bandages covered her chest, and a moonsilver monitor glowed beside the bed. Her face had regained some color, but every breath remained shallow. She watched me approach without speaking. I placed my phone on the table between us.“You were in my room,” she finally said.“You agreed to sleep there because you believed Nora would stop once she realized you weren’t me.”Mother closed her eyes. “I remember the first strike. I tried to call her name, but I couldn’t breathe.”“She never checked your face.”Her fingers ti

The moon crest above the treatment room remained lit until dawn.Father repeatedly tried to reach Mother through their mate bond, but the silver still blocked him. Ethan sat outside with her blood dried across his hands, while Julian stayed beside me and asked a guard to bring me a coat and water. At six in the morning, the lead healer finally emerged.“We removed the blade and repaired the worst internal damage. The Luna is no longer in immediate danger, but the silver remained near her wolf heart for too long. We cannot say when she will regain consciousness.”Father stood at once. “Can I see her?”“Yes, but do not force the mate bond. Her wolf is extremely weak, and further strain could delay her recovery.”Father followed her inside. Ethan remained in the corridor and moved into my path.“Are you satisfied? Mother hasn’t woken up, Nora is in custody, and soon the entire pack will know what happened.”“I didn’t send Nora into my room with a silver blade.”“You knew she might come.”

Father stared at me in disbelief.Ethan reacted first. He looked from me to the woman lying across the blood-soaked sheets. Tangled hair and the pillow hid her face, and she was wearing my nightgown.Nora slowly stepped back, clutching her bloodstained hands.“Then who is in the bed?”I raised my phone. “You entered my room with a silver blade and said my name before attacking. You seem disappointed to find me alive.”“My wolf took control.” Nora immediately turned to Father. “I thought Clara was in the bed. I had no idea what I was doing.”Father did not answer. He was still trying to identify the woman. My gardenia perfume filled the room. Scent-masking spray concealed the woman’s natural scent, while the silver suppressed her wolf and blocked any mental connection.Ethan approached the bed.“If Clara is standing here, who is that?”He brushed the hair away from the woman’s face, then froze.“Mother?”Father rushed forward. Her pale face was finally visible. The silver blade remained

  • She Stabbed Our Mother Thinking It Was Me   Chapter 3

Nora opened the bedroom door and walked toward the bed.The woman beneath the covers had her back to the room. She wore my nightdress, and her long hair spread across my pillow. The scent-masking spray and gardenia perfume covered her natural scent.“Clara?”Nora called my name softly, but the woman in the bed did not answer. She waited until she was certain the figure was asleep, then tightened both hands around the silver blade and drove it into the place where she believed my heart was.Blood quickly soaked through the nightdress and the sheets. The woman’s body jerked, and a muffled cry escaped her throat.Nora pulled out the blade and stabbed her again, leaving the weapon buried in her chest.“Why won’t you just disappear?”“If you die, Dad, Mom, and Ethan will all belong to me.”The woman struggled desperately and knocked the bedside lamp onto the floor. The crash woke the entire Alpha House, and hurried footsteps soon filled the hallway.“What happened?”Ethan was the first to f
