Chapter 3

Ahana's Pov

I took a look in my living room to find it all clean. I grinned and showed a thumbs up to both of my friends as they grinned proudly.

"So now the living room is clean, I think we should clean your room and the kitchen, that's what important for now" Kaira said and I nodded. I looked over at Ayaan he was looking at Kaira as she was saying but once I spotted him looking at her, he immediately looked down and rubbed his neck and I could see a faint blush adoring his cheeks.

I grinned thinking about my both best friends together. They would look so cute and perfect with each other.

"Sounds good" I say to Kaira and she grinned.

"Why don't you and Ayaan clean the kitchen while I go and start cleaning my room" I said and fist bumped myself for making this awesome plan. Some alone time for both of them.

They both looked at me shocked as soon as I spoke. But Before they could protest anything, I took a broom and sprinted upstairs to my old room.

On the way I got a call. Once I saw the caller id my smile widened ten times.

It was Keith my younger brother. He stays in hostel. After the incident back six years my grandma and grandpa thought about putting him in a boarding school as he was too small that time and even if I tried convincing them that let him stay here with me, they denied.

And now I understood why they wanted him to go the boarding. He is now grown to a perfect young child. After some months he will join me back here in our old house during his Christmas holidays. I miss him and I only get to see him during his holidays.

"Hey brother" I said cheerfully as I made my way towards the opening of the balcony of our house.

"Hey sis, did you reach Jaipur?" He asked and I smiled. For age so small he is really protective about me.

"Yes, I've reached here, you say did your exam go well?" I asked him.

"Of course, di, I'm a genius if you remember" he said proudly and I rolled my eyes. Did I tell you that he is too much cocky for a thirteen-year-old boy?

"I know, I know my brother is a genius" I said and I can imagine his satisfactory smile.

After we spoke for some time, we hanged up the call promising to meet soon during holidays.

I again made my way towards my old room. I can still see a Princess Poster of Snow White stuck there. I smiled and cleaned the dust above it making the poster clearer.

I unlocked the door and entered inside. The room was all pink. I cringed inwardly. Gosh how girlish I was before, I chuckled to myself and look over the room as I took hold of the broom and went towards the window.

I opened the window to let some sun rays come inside the room.

I looked over the room. It was not that dirty compared to the living room. I sighed thinking that. I need to paint the walls though can't let this pink room stay forever.

I started cleaning the room, and dusting the dust while all the while sweating. The electricity management was yet to be done but Ayaan said he would handle it and till evening the electricity will be back in the house.

Once I was half done with the room, I decided to change the cover of the bed. And I almost shouted when I saw a spider crawl below my bed making me rethink about staying in this room.

But then again, I thought this room was hundred times better than the ones without cleaning.

Soon I heard the steps coming towards my room and there entered my both best friends still glaring at each other.

"Ahana the kitchen is cleaned; do you need any help here" Kaira asked while stepping towards me while Ayaan just walked towards the bed and spread himself on it.

"I'm tired, I think I will take a long nap now" he said taking a biggest yawn of the century making a loud yawning noise making us crinkle our faces.

"Yes, actually I need some help with my cupboard now" I said and went towards the closet and pushed it open. As soon as we opened it two cockroaches came running out of it making me and Kaira scream at the loudest pitch.

"What the fuck, what happened?" Ayaan came there with wide eyes and looking at us as if he has seen a ghost.

"Cockroach" I replied him and his facial expression changed from shocked to 'I'm-going-to-kill-you-both-for-ruining-my-beauty-sleep'. He stared at us for few seconds may be thinking of ways to kill us both before going back to the bed and laying down.

"That person is idiot" I heard Kaira say from beside me and I slapped her arms lightly making her giggle.

Once we were done with the closet, we decided we will arrange my clothes later on and walked out to see Ayaan on his phone. Once he spotted us coming over he shut down his phone.

"Are you guys done?" He asked as he looked at his watch. I replied with a 'yes'.

"Great, let's go for lunch somewhere, my treat" he said as he pulled me towards the exit of my room while I followed him quietly because I was equally hungry. Kaira was behind us.

We soon went to the nearest Diner. I used to come here before with my family and both of them knows it. They gave my hand a reassuring squeeze each and I smiled at them. And walked inside the diner.

Once inside I inhaled the heavenly smell of the food back here. I missed this so much back in London. I missed Indian food. We took the table at the far end corner of the diner.

Kaira and I sat at one side while Ayaan sat opposite us. We soon gave our orders and waited till it comes. In the mean time we started talking, me telling them all the things I want to do here that I'm back from London.

"One thing I didn't understood Ahana, why did you come here for your college, London has more good colleges there" Kaira said and I was expecting this question sooner or later. Ayaan too looked at me waiting for the answer.

I gulped some water as I looked back at them.

"My grandma, she is no more" I said and the both of their eyes went wide hearing it. I didn't tell them anything about this so their shocked expressions were expected.

"Oh my God Ahana, why didn't you tell us, I'm sorry" Kaira said and hugged me from side.

"It's okay, I'm fine now" I gave an assuring smile to Ayaan who was looking at me concerned. I continued.

"She couldn't handle my Grandpa's death for more than a month" I said as I remembered my sweet grandparents and their love for each other.

My grandpa died due to heart attack and my grandma couldn't handle it so she too left me and Keith alone after a month. I thought back to all my good memories, they both were my only family after my parents.

"I was alone there so my aunt, my mom's sister said that it would be good if I transfer back to India and that's why here I am" I finished with a smile on my face and both of them were looking at me with a proud smiles on their faces.

"What about Keith?" Ayaan asked and I smiled remembering my small brother.

"He will continue there in the boarding school till he finishes his tenth, my grandma and grandpa has made all the arrangements before they passed away, securing our future" I said and looked at them they nodded their head understanding my words.

Soon our lunch came and later on we didn't talk much about my grandparents but we talked about Keith and myself and also my friends back in London.

Soon after we had finished our food Ayaan went to pay the bill while Kaira excused herself to got to washroom. I decided to wait for them outside the diner.

I made my way towards the exit. Once I was out, I bumped and stumbled backwards but thanks to the railing behind me that saved me. I looked up angrily at the person who was running fast that he couldn't see person in front of him.

Once I steadied myself, I took my own time to see the person whose eyes were oddly familiar. He had crop cut hairstyle while he had a light stubble on his face. He was wearing a red t-shirt with Shit Happens written on it in bold letters. He wore a dark black jean and his hands were holding my shoulders making me glare at him even more.

"Watch ahead when you're walking" I spat at him angrily. He was looking at me with expression of confusion as if he was thinking something very deeply.

Soon his thin line of lips which showed he was thinking something broke into a half smile and his confused face brightened up as if he was successful in solving the biggest mathematical equation.

But soon his next words froze me on my place as I stared at him with eye eyes and open mouth.

"You haven't changed a bit Corgi" The devil in front of me said as he stood there towering above me with his all grown muscles and wide frame looking directly in my eyes as his eyes held happiness as well as cockiness at the same time as he smirked at me with the pet name he keeps calling me.

Corgi. A breed of dog. That's what he calls me. Asshole.

"Hello to you too Bulldozer" I replied with a irritated look on my face. He hasn't changed a bit. His lip twitched at the side as he smiled. Actually, smiled and not smirked. Well that's new.

"So, You remember me?" He asks as his troop of friends joined him and stood behind him looking at me with a knowing smirk plastered on their faces.

"Of course, I cannot forget a dog's face" I said with a plastic fake smile and turned around to leave as I heard his friends laughing at him from behind.

"We'll meet soon Corgi" was the only words I heard before I left that place and something in his voice tells me that it's true. We will be meeting soon. I hope he doesn't go to the college I have applied for. With that thought I sprinted off leaving the devil named Ranbir behind.
