A cry was what made Hayley come to. When she did, she noticed Axel on the ground, badly hurt and bleeding.

Whatever had attacked them was long gone.

Hayley felt light-headed from being hung upside down for so long. Suddenly the rope broke. The next thing she knew, she was falling. She twisted her body to try landing on her feet, but that was the wrong thing to do.

When Hayley fell, twisting her right ankle. The pain caused her to cry out and fought back her tears. But through it, she tried to move closer to Axel to make sure he was ok, but the effort was too much, and she passed again.

When Hayley came to, she was in a room, in a very comfortable bed, with thick, warm dark blue duvet sheets up to her chin, soft pillows under her head, and a finely carved head post behind her back.

The room was thick with a very delectable, but familiar,

cologne.

Even though it was morning, the curtains were still drawn, maybe to not disturb her
