THE WITCH AND HER BEAST

Third person's POV

After paying his punched items on the counter, Conrad walks to where his car was parked.

He put his purchased items at the back seat and was about to jump into the driver's seat when his eyes catch the familiar figure walking across the street.

Just by looking at her, he's lips curved into a mischievous smile. Looks like she's having the best time of her life. Eating ice cream while there's few shopping bags on both of her arms.

Ahh. What else will he should be expecting from this kind of woman?

She must be happy right now, spending money for nonsense things. He had a wild guess that she's buying those 'girly' things.

He shook his head. Furthermore, he shouldn't be bothered about her.  It's her expense anyway.

He doesn't really notice how long it had been, he's standing by, looking at her. His eyes were only focused on her. He can't stop himself not to familiarize her every movement. The way she walks and the way her hair sways by the wind. The way her head used to turn in every corner, checking everything she sees.

'You are now quite enjoying the view.' A part of him just hit him in his reality.

He took a deep breath before he decides to get into his car. It's already six o'clock, so he better go home now.

When he started the engine, he looks across the street once again and see her standing by the roadside already.

Looks like she's going home too.

------

“Hello?” Siren answered her phone when she saw the words 'Handsome beast' on the screen.

“Going home?” His deep voice never fails to give her heart the sense of restlessness even once.

“Yeah, why?” Trying to give her calmest voice, she answered.

“I'm just across the street. Inside my car.”

She looks at the direction he mentioned and saw the familiar car parked by the roadside.

“Ah okay.” She says. Was he going to take her home too?

“Want to go home with me?”

“Uhm, it's okay. You can go home. I can manage to get a taxi. “

“Taxi?”

“Yeah.”

“Come to my car.”

“No, it's okay, really.”

“I said, come to my car. “ Then he hanged up.

A few horns inform her that he's waiting.

Without any complaints, she follows what he said. She crosses the road and draw near to his car.

He opened the door inside.

“Put your things at the back.”

She follows.

He pointed his arms to the passenger seat.

“Seatbelt.”

She follows.

As long she put on her seatbelt, he drove the car like it's an emergency.

But it doesn't bother her.

Mr. Cervantes back in the mansion used to be her driver for how many years, was also driving like a madman. But he's the best. Over the years, he manages to avoid any accidents and always keeping her safe during the trip.

“What did you do there?” Conrad tries to break the silence.

“Shopping.” She was looking outside the window. Making her feel busy with the views.

“That's nice.” He said.

Having her heart pounding for no good reason, she kept herself from talking. He might hear her stutter due to what she was feeling now.

Few minutes later, they are already entering the garage.

No car on the space and she noticed that the house was also dark inside, indicating there's no one at home.

After she unbuckles her seat belt, she hurriedly got out of the car, took her things off from the backseat then run towards the door.

She felt it would be better not to be near him again. It feels like he could be her death,, and it's not pretty good.

---------

Conrad couldn't do anything but to follow his stare on Reena's back as she was about to run, entering the door.

He suppressed his smile as she looks so weird because of her actions. Is she thinking he will bite her or something?

He took his things from the back seat before heading inside. Walk straight up to the stairs to his room.

He just put his purchased things on the floor before changing his clothes to his casual outfit. Got out from his room again and headed to the kitchen.

A few steps from the kitchen door, he heard the sound of the working coffee maker. And just like seducing him more, he smelled the aroma of coffee in the air.

He continued walking.

“One coffee for me, please.”

Hearing his voice, Reena almost dropped the cup she was holding. Fortunately, it's still empty.

Without a word, she looked at him like he was the most disgusting thing on Earth.

And because he wanted to annoy it, he  gave her a smug look.

“That cup that you are about to drop costs more than your monthly salary.” But her reaction to it was different from what he expected. She just smirks and give him a dry look.

Of course, he was lying about the cup's price, but he just wanted to see if he could fool her with that.

“Do you really have to lie on my face?” She asked.

His formed into a fake smile. How could this woman tell his just bluffing? He must admit, he felt defeated, but no way he would give her the satisfaction.

“Why don't you try to drop it and let's see if what will be Mom's reaction if she knew about it?”

She gave him an empty laugh as an answer. Making his blood boils at its peak. Did she just mock him right now?!

“Why would I drop it off?” She then smiled sourly at him.

He couldn't say anything to piss her off. And it makes him more annoyed.

“Do you think I'm just lying about it? Do you think I'm fooling you around?” He was pissed. He was cool earlier,, but it turns the other way around.

“Do you think I'll be easy to fool around too?” She raised an eyebrow. She's so cocky and he hates it.

He took a sigh and calms himself. He shouldn't act like a madman just because a woman was against his wittiness. Likewise, he won't allow himself to go down her level. Hell no.

“Alright, it's just fine. I'll forget this moment, and I'll just think that we don't see each other now.” He gave her a smug look.

But she just looked at him like his an idiot before smirking.

Without anything to say, he sat in one of the high stool against the counter. He stares at her every move.

She also zipped her mouth and avoid speaking at him again.

Cautiously, she pours the newly boiled coffee mixture into the cup she was holding earlier. Place the cup into its saucer and stir the coffee afterwards.

He could say she wasn't that expert by the way she works into it,, but he knows that she was making it to her very perfection.

He looks at her when she stopped stirring. Her gaze meets his. Then she smiled. The kind of smile that reaches her eyes.

She places the coffee in front of him.

“Here.”

“The last coffee you bring to me was--”

“This is not the same coffee.” She cuts him off.

Having doubt, he gave her the should-I-trust-you? Kind of look before he took a sip.

“Ahh!” He put down the cup as fast as he can. He could feel the burning sensation on his lips.

“You really don't know how to drink coffee, do you?”

“You didn't tell me it's still hot!” He exclaimed.

“Oh, now you're blaming me?” She sarcastically pointed herself. “Didn't you see I just poured it?”

Conrad gave her a deadly glare,, but she just shrugged her shoulders with a coyly smile and a wink.

"Witch!"

"Beast!"
