Revan entered the key in the key lock of Shaina's apartment; with the sound of the click; he pushed the door of the apartment open; entering the apartment; he was greeted with dark; the lights of the whole apartment were off, it was single bedroom kitchen apartment perfect for a person who lived alone. 

Revan took off his shoes because he did not want to make any clicking sound that might wake her up; he knows she was a heavy sleeper in her childhood but it's been so many years; habits change, people change.
