Raven’s POV

The walk back to the palace felt longer than before, more like I was the one dragging my legs. I didn't want to get separated from Kai but we had no choice and Kai was more making things easier for me, he was quiet the whole time back.

When we got to the edge of the garden he turned to me with a faint smile, the gentle breeze sweeping away all our worries for that moment.

He held my hand, his fingers brushing mine gently.

“I wish I didn’t have to take you back,” he said.

That's what I wanted bro, didn't you read the signals.

“I know,” I whispered. “But we’ll see each other again soon.”

Kai gave me one last kiss. “Happy birthday, Raven.”

“Thank you,” I smiled. “Thanks for making my birthday one that I would not forget, and that's for the good part.”

He placed a kiss on my forehead, giving me a quick path on my shoulder, he turned and walked away into the shadows. I watched him until he was gone.

I inhaled deeply, curiosity creeping back into my veins. Kai was always th

  • She's the Alpha    Shadows in the mirror

Raven’s POVIt’s been two days since I got the letter. Two exhausting days where I was always at alert, where every sound became a threat, every moment became suspicious. I burnt the letter but that couldn't take away the fear, it was like Kai was following me everywhere. If he wasn't how would he have known that Damien and I had sex and just immediately after that he sent a letter through a bird. Kai was closer than I thought, he has become a shadow I can't shake off, he was too close— he was definitely in the palace. So was Lara. They said talking to someone was like solving half the problem but in this case, talking to someone was just going to make everything worse. So I had to bottle everything and act like nothing was wrong. My mother, of course, was too busy with wedding plans to notice I wasn’t myself. She talked about dresses and flowers like nothing could go wrong. Damien on the other hand was busy with the sentinels. So that made hiding the truth easy. I spent my morni

  • She's the Alpha    The Alpha wolf.

Author’s POVRaven didn’t say a word as she stormed back to her quarters. Damien followed close behind in silence, his lips curled into a faint smile as he watched the woman he loves take dominance. That was one of the things that made her fall for him making his original plan of taking over the palace— the Kingdom halt. The door slammed behind them the moment they entered. Damien slowly found a wall, placing his back on it as he watched Raven murmur curse words. “I could have killed them all,” she muttered, ripping the dagger belt from her waist and tossing it onto the table. “Those bastards, and what the hell?” She shouted, turning to Damien. “Draven was actually defending me?” She scoffed in disbelief, barely unable to contain her anger. “That's like saying the moon goddess supports the god of hell.”“I know,” Damien said, his voice calm. Controlled.“That doesn’t scare you?”“No.”Her eyes narrowed as she stared at him with curiosity. His arms crossed like he had all the time

  • She's the Alpha    Broken bond.

Raven's pov. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at myself. The priestess had said the bond with Kai was broken but looking into my own eyes, I wasn’t sure. Was it really gone? I didn’t feel different. Even though I didn't know what I was supposed to feel. “You are going to be fine,” Leslie reassured me. I forced a smile, my fingers tracing the curve of my face on the mirror. It didn't look like I was going to be fine. I left like a failure yet I was filled with an anger that could destroy the world when it explodes. I wanted vengeance, enough is enough. I was tired of people telling me what to do, how to do it and saying nonsense about fate— I own my destiny, no one does and for once I was tired of listening to everyone. The only thing I agree with the moon goddess is accepting who I am— Rowan, the ruthless Alpha who would do anything to protect his people. I have almost slipped from that position but not again— I was back to dominate and that means getting the elders under

  • She's the Alpha    The ritual

Raven's pov. I stood still watching the priestess ladies prepare the altar like they were preparing to slaughter an animal— me. My heart hammered in my chest as the cold breeze kissed my exposed skin. I could feel my mother’s cold gaze on me, even though she was behind me, talking to the priestess. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew this wasn’t going to be easy. The priestess walked to me with a smile, she placed her shoulder on me which made me flinch a little— even though I reacted two seconds after she had touched me. “You… you’re a woman,” the priestess said, her voice filled with disbelief.I nodded, taking in deep breaths. For a priestess who sees the future, she should have guessed that I was a woman. “I'm shocked,” she forced a smile. “The prophecy did say your mother would die when the Alpha comes.”“First time you are ever wrong?” I asked with a faint scoff, my gaze returned back to the altar. “I'm never wrong,” she replied, her voice filled with pride. “I never

  • She's the Alpha    A final blow.

Raven’s POVAs soon as the door slammed shut behind us, I barely had a second to breathe before her hand cracked across my cheek. My mother slapped me—hard. The sound echoed in the hall like thunder, and my head turned with the force of it. Damien froze in place, his mouth fell open. My mother was boiling in rage, he knew better than to intervene and I knew better than to defend myself— what was I going to defend myself about. “You stupid, blind little girl,” she hissed. “I warned you. I warned you about Kai.”I swallowed hard, tasting blood. “I’m sorry,” I whispered, my head down. “Sorry?” she scoffed, her voice filled with disdain. “Sorry doesn’t fix anything. You let your feelings cloud your judgment. You let a Lycan inside our walls. You trusted him more than your own family.”I raised my head up, tears flowing down my cheeks. “You are right, I should have listened to you, I should have known better—” my voice cracked. “I'm sorry, I know what I have done can't be forgiven but I'

  • She's the Alpha    The Ashes of trust.

Raven’s POVI froze as I got closer to the house we locked Kai and his people in. I could smell smoke coming from the direction. Immediately my legs moved on instinct and I ran there like a prey running desperately from its predator. I came to a stop immediately. My eyes widened in alarm as I watched the scene before me. The house was on fire. The trees, the buildings, the sky—it was all orange and red, glowing with flames that danced like demons. Smoke filled the air choking the stars out of the night sky.My heart dropped as I scanned the environment. The sentinels we placed to guard the place were all dead. “What…?” I whispered, looking around. Damien stood next to me, just as stunned. His eyes were wide, his mouth hanging open. “No… What happened here?”How the fuck should I know? I left you here. “What the hell?” I muttered, my fists clenched. Damien rushed to the side of the sentinels lying on the ground. He touched their body looking for any sign of a pulse but it came ba
