Raven’s POV

"Raven! Raven, wake up!"

I heard a voice calling out to me, pulling me from the darkness. Someone shook me hard, and suddenly, my eyes flew open.

I gasped, taking in a sharp breath. My body jerked as if I had just returned from the dead. Everything was blurry at first, but then I saw a familiar face—Damien.

He was leaning over me, his eyes filled with both relief and frustration.

"Thank the moon goddess," he muttered, pulling me into a tight hug.

I groaned in pain, he pulled back immediately. “Sorry,” he muttered, getting off the bed.

I cleaned my blurry eyes, my hands moving to my chest, my eyes widened in alarm, realizing the clothes around Mt chest were gone.

I don't remember unwrapping the clothes. The last thing I could recall was the unbearable pain—the venom burning through my veins, spreading like fire.

I remembered stabbing myself with my own dagger to stop it, but after that… nothing.

I looked down, my jaw dropped open. The wound was completely stitched up. I don't remember doing that—no, I knew I didn't do it.

A healer was kneeling beside me, her hands pressing gently against my side. “Looks like you did the job yourself perfectly.”

Damien snapped his head toward her. "What do you mean?"

"The poison," she said again, looking confused. “Don't you see it's gone, the wound is all stitched up.”

My mother stood at the foot of the bed, arms crossed under her breast, face was cold and unreadable. "That’s impossible," she said firmly.

The healer shook her head. "I don’t know how it happened," she admitted. "Someone… or something must have pulled the poison out."

A chill ran down my spine. “I didn't do it,” I muttered, swallowing hard.

Damien’s jaw tightened. "You don’t remember anything?"

I closed my eyes, trying to think, but everything was a blur. "No," I admitted. "Only the pain, and then… nothing."

My mother's expression darkened. "That means someone was here last night."

Damien’s eyes widened in alarm as he slowly turned to my mother. “Someone have found the truth.”

"We need to find them," my mother ordered, immediately, dashing out the door.

Damien followed immediately, his voice loud. "Guards!” He called.

Soon two guards rushed in, bowing their heads in respect.

Who entered this room last night?" He snapped.

More  guards appeared, lining up, their faces serious.

“Who entered this room?* He shouted.

"No one," they said.

I heard a loud sudden sound. My mother must have slapped someone. I quickly picked up the clothes, wrapping it around my breast before rushing out.

"Lies," she spat. "Someone was here last night, weren't you doing your jobs last night?”

The guards looked terrified, but they all repeated the same answer. "No one came in."

I took a slow breath, trying to focus, my eyes slowly flickered to a servant who was whimpering at the side.

I walked towards her, slowly sniffing her. The scent was familiar with the one I smelt last night but only stronger.

“The scent was like the damp earth, like a farmer,” I muttered.

Damien’s head snapped toward me. "What? Do you remember the person?”

"The person who was here last night…" I took another breath. "They smelled like a farmer.”

My mother frowned. “We don't have farmers in the palace.”

“We don't,” Damien chipped in. “But we have slaves that work in the royal farm, it was probably a slave.”

My mother's face twisted with rage. "Round them all up."

Minutes later, every slave in the palace was dragged into the main courtyard.

They stood together, shaking in fear. Some looked confused, others terrified but none of them dared to speak.

My mother stepped forward, darting her eyes to each one of them.  "One of you was in the Alpha's room last night," she said. “Who dared enter the Alpha's chamber?”

No one spoke.

Damien’s eyes darkened. "If you confess now, you may live. If you stay silent, you all die."

The silence continued.

My mother scoffed, a small smirk appearing at the corner of her lips. “Kill them all,” she ordered, turning to me.

Gasps of horror filled the courtyard.

The sentinels quickly morphed into their werewolves form, stepping toward the slaves, ready to carry out the order.

“I want you to know that this is all your fault, this is what happens when you let someone find out the truth, hope their cries and blood would teach you to be more careful next time,” she whispered in my ears.

I clenched my fists in anger, biting my lips, that I could taste my blood.

"Wait!" Someone shouted, walking out of the group.

"Please," he begged. "Spare them. I'm the one you are looking for.”

Damien grabbed him by his shirt. "So it was you?"

The man swallowed hard, then gave a small nod.

I turned to my mother, I knew she still wouldn't let the slaves go, she was always the one who always went extra miles to ensure my secret didn't get out.

“Take him,” I ordered.

The guards dragged him back to the dungeon and beat him up till he was almost dead.

My mother stepped forward,  looking at him with disgust. "Who are you?"

"I’m no one," he muttered. "Just a slave."

"And what did you see?" she demanded.

The man hesitated, turning to me. "I—I won’t tell anyone," he promised. "I swear."

I stepped forward, looking him over.

"You expect us to believe that?" Damien asked.

“Trust me, you need me more than you think,” the slave said, struggling to his feet.

Damien scoffed. “Are you seriously blackmailing us?”

The slave shook his head. “If I tell the world the truth, they wouldn't believe me, no man would believe a woman is leading the men's army, so right now, I'm begging for my life with my service.”

“How can a slave be of any use to us?” One of my mother's guards scoffed.

His hands clenched into fists. "I know things," he blurted out. "Things you don’t, I wasn’t always a slave. I used to serve the Lycans before I was brought here,” he paused, locking eyes with me. “How did you think I saved you?”

That made Damien pause.

The healer stepped forward. "If he lived with the Lycans, he might know things that could help us."

My mother scoffed. "He’s just trying to save himself."

I swallowed hard, holding my head in pride.

"Please," the man begged again, his voice cracking. "Just let me live, I swear, I won’t tell anyone what I saw and I can help you win the war against the Lycans.”

I looked at my mother, then at Damien.

Then, I gave a small nod to the guards.

They stepped forward, forcing the man onto his knees. His head was pressed against the cold stone.

A sharp blade hovered above his neck.

I inhaled deeply, flickering my eyes away. I couldn't bear to see another person die because they found out my secret.

“Do it,” my mother shouted.

I was waiting for the splash of blood but nothing came, instead, it was the body of the executioner, falling to the ground.

My jaw dropped open, my head slowly turning to the slave, who had tackled the other guards without breaking a sweat.

He turns to me, our eyes locked like magnets. Rage burning through my veins.

A small smirk tugged at the corner of my lips.

“If the guards can't kill you, that means I would have to do that myself,” I growled, lunging towards him.

RAVEN'S POV. “What the hell, Kai?” I shouted, almost falling off my feet. I knew someone was following me but I didn't pick up a scent—- it's almost like Kai doesn't have a scent. “I wasn't even trying to scare you,” he smirked, taking a step closer. “You should have known my scent.”“Says the man without a scent,” I scoffed, rolling my eyes in disbelief. “Only those who are sensitive enough can pick my scent,” he explained, his voice laced with pride. “I didn't come here to argue with you,” I said, my lips pressing into a thin line. “We have broken the bond, but I still feel you, why?”That made him laugh. My brows furrowed seeing his reaction. It wasn't funny. It was a question that needed to be answered before I lost it. The bond was supposed to be broken but I could still Kai, I could still feel the connection. At first I thought it was because I was overreacting but after a while I figured that the connection was still there. “I should be asking you that,” he paused, letting

  • She's the Alpha    Just a rest.

Raven's pov. It has been weeks now and the war was still on. The Lycans were tougher than what we had expected but thanks to Kai, things were easier for us and we were finally getting closer to the Lycan Lord. We have conquered the surrounding packs and villages close to the bloodfang pack—- the Lycan Lord pack. I can't wait to meet him. I can't wait to give him the taste of his own medicine, I can't wait to burn down his palace. We returned back to our camp, after defeating another Lycan trope. My people were exhausted and so was I. We have been fighting for hours, no quick break. The closer we got to the Lycan Lord, the harder the war. And it was exhausting. I needed rest and some good wine. I fell on the bed, peeling my clothes off. Damien walked in, scaring the hell out of me. “Fuck,” I screamed, dragging a cloth abs pulled it over my chest. “What the hell man?” He chuckled, placing his lamp on the table. “I didn't mean to scare you,” he defended. “You know I'm the only o

  • She's the Alpha    First phase.

Raven’s POVA war broke out sooner than we expected, we were able to stop the Lycans from coming in but it only took two days for them to attack again but this time I was more than prepared. I stood on top of the wall, staring into the distance. The Lycans were charging towards the city gate. I turned to the sentinels besides me and gave him a nod. He nodded back and shouted down the wall. “Nightshade,” he shouted. The place erupted in shouts as our people appeared from nowhere catching the Lycans off guard but they didn't back down. Foolish Lycans. They were about to meet their end and they knew it but they wouldn't just admit it. The attack was brutal, but we had the upper hand. Lycans were falling, we were winning. I stood at the wall, giving orders to the sentinels who stayed by the gate to finish any Lycan that escaped the wrath of the first batch. The Lycans refused to retreat, they kept coming. My people retreated, allowing fresh batch to continue the fight. And we won th

  • She's the Alpha    Brother's fight.

Author’s POVThe Lycan Palace was a big and quiet place in the heart of the Lycans land. It was a monstrous silhouette etched against the ashen sky. A throne room made of black stone and blood-colored banners cast long shadows across the floor. The Lycan Lord sat upon his jagged throne — his silver beard made him look like a god, his piercing eyes dimmed with disappointment. His younger son, Allen. Kai's brother knelt before him, with one knee to the floor, his head bowed. His fists clenched besides him. The Lycan Lord stared at him for a long time without a word. His silence was enough to show his level of disappointment. But Allen wasn't moved. He plays this game more often than anyone. "You failed," the Lycan Lord finally said, voice deep and full of gravel. "You failed to bring your brother home."Allen’s jaw tensed. He raised his head slightly, eyes burning. “I followed his tracks and found him, just like I promised but it seems that the story is true, Kai just wouldn't come

  • She's the Alpha    When the flames speak.

Raven’s POVThe fire burned low in front of me, the flames licking the wood gently. My knees were pulled to my chest, my arms wrapped tight around them. Different questions that don't seem to have an answer clouded my mind. I inhaled, breaking another branch and threw it into the fire. The fire seemed to be the only thing keeping me from losing it, so I was bent on keeping alive. “You’re still thinking about him,” Leslie whispered with a sigh. “I’m trying not to.”“What exactly are you thinking about?” “You live in my head,” I replied coldly, using a branch to rearrange the burning woods. “You should know what exactly is on my mind.”“Well, it's impossible to do that because in this messed up place you call a head,” she retorted. I rolled my eyes letting out a faint groan. I definitely wasn't in the mood to welcome Leslie's annoying attitude. “What are you going to do now?” She asked. “His coming was expected but it came soon… he killed your people.”Thanks for the info. Like I

  • She's the Alpha    Tempting visitor.

Raven’s POVHis hand was over my mouth, his body pinning me to the wall like I was some plaything he found amusing. Kai’s breath was warm against my face, and his smile—God, that smile—mocked every shred of fear clawing its way up my throat.I didn’t care if I was half-naked. I didn’t care that his grip could snap my wrist in a heartbeat. I just wanted him dead.I kicked hard, slammed my knee upward, did anything to make him flinch, to break free. “Get off me,” I growled, muffled through his hand. But instead of pulling back, he pushed harder, pinning me even tighter. I couldn’t move. His hand above my head locked both my wrists like shackles, and his weight pressed my ribs into the stone wall.“Oh Raven,” he whispered, with a mocking smile. “always so dramatic. It’s like you want to hurt me. Is that any way to greet an old friend?”“I’m not your friend,” I snapped the second he moved his hand away from my mouth. “I want you gone.”“I was gone,” he said simply. “But you missed me.”
