He stared up at me for a second before his trembling hand reached for mine. “Of course, my Queen.” I jolted at his words, and I turned to Rowan, who was already smiling.

“Surprised?” His voice was full of mirth as I stared at him. I just nodded. “You are the Queen.”

My mouth flopped open, and I sat there like a fish out of water. “But I haven’t been sworn in yet.”

Rowan threw his head back and laughed. “I think we have had more important things to worry about than your coronation.” He leaned over and kissed me. “Let’s finish here, and then we can work on our next steps.”

I nodded and turned back to Senith. I pulled him to his feet and motioned for him to step to the side. I called up the next person and then the next, and they followed Senith’s decision. “Are you all sure?” I looked at the six men standing next to me now.

Senith smiled. “You said it was our choice, and yet you seem to be trying to talk us out of it.”

I felt heat rush to my cheeks. “Fine.” I turned back to the remain

I turned to see Toya sprinting full speed at us. “What did you just say?” I tried to see who she was talking about, but everyone was confused. There were too many men all crowded together. She ran towards the group, and seemed to realize everyone was in silver manacles, and chained together. She stumbled to a stop next to Rowan, and she looked lost. “My mate…”“Which one is he?” I looked to where my grandmother was, but, like always, she was already gone. Toya shook her head. “I smelt him, but it seems like something is blocking it now.” She looked to me. “Is my mate a traitor?”I puffed out my lips. “Well, let’s figure it out.” I turned back to the Elites. “Unshackle anyone with a star on their brow.”All of Rowan’s guards started to move into the crowd. Chains dropped, but no one moved. Everyone of them was looking at me with confusion painted on their faces. I looked at Rowan, and he chuckled before brushing a finger over my brow. “Seems like the Goddess wanted everyone to know

Rowan nodded once. “The one who is supposed to find them is still a child.” He turned to me. “Are you sure about this?” “Not at all, but the Goddess chose her for a reason. We have to respect her decision.” I clicked off everything on my father’s computer, and the desk turned dark once again. “When did your father have time to design that desk?” Rowan knocked on the top for a second before I started for the door. “I can only assume the man was bored out of his mind at the Agora.” I headed out the door, and the two men followed behind. “He probably took a few years to make it and moved it back here when they moved back.” I looked back at Rowan. “Why? Do you want one?”Rowan grinned. “Heck, yeah, I do.” I smiled as we headed down the stairs.“Me too.” I laughed as we headed out to see the damage. “Checking on everything?” Rowan offered as we hit the ground.“Yeah. I want to check in with everyone. Have everyone started moving back to the pack house and their homes. Plus…” I trailed

Ronnie rolled his neck. “While this is amusing to watch two grown men almost piss themselves. I’m exhausted.” Ronnie moved to Yarrow and used silver cuffs on him. The sizzle on his skin as the cuffs clicked into place was accompanied by his soft gasp.Ronnie just kicked the back of his knees, causing him to drop to the ground before moving towards Theo with a second pair. Theo tried to move, but Rowan pressed the point of the spear harder into his skin. “I wouldn’t move if I were you.” Rowan’s threat hung there.“You can’t do this. We are the council.” Theo tried to argue, but everyone in the office laughed.“You think that holds any weight now?” My father moved around the desk as Ronnie snapped the second pair on Theo’s wrists. “You forfeited any power you might have held the moment you moved against the royal family.” My dad grabbed Yarrow from the ground. “Please.” The man tugged away from my father. “I know nothing.”My dad leaned over to look at Yarrow’s face. “Well, then, I gue

Evan leaned into Marcus and snapped his teeth. “Exactly.” His dead eyes turned murderous. “You took my pup from me.” His fangs descended. “So when Garith came to me, to tell me the humans wanted wolves to do experiments on, I made sure Sera was the first to be taken.” Evan’s face settled. “A pup for a pup.”“She was pregnant!” Marcus howled.“So was my son’s Luna.” Evan snapped back. Before anyone could think, he darted in. Blood arced up, and Marcus let out a garbled cry. Evan dropped the chunk of flesh he had trapped between his fangs. Marcus pulled his hand back and slammed his shifted claws straight through Evan’s chest. “If I’m dying…” He gasped. “So are you.” He struggled to pull his hand back out, but with a final wrench, Marcus stumbled back against me. He sagged against my body, Evan’s heart still clutched in his hand. Evan looked down at the hole in his chest and chuckled. He looked over at Theo. “Don’t think that just because we are dying you get off scot-free. Theo knows

Marcus’s hands were around Evan’s neck before anyone even thought to move. “She was my daughter, you son of a bitch.”Evan sneered. “She was not your fucking pup, and we all know it. She was a whore’s throwaway, one you picked up as a mistake.” He wrapped his hands around Marcus’s wrists and tried to pull them off of him. “IU did you a favor.” His eyes were dead. This man, this wolf, was dancing on a thin thread of sanity. Nix paced under my skin. Look at her eyes. Nix’s voice pulled me away from the fight and back to the photo. I shifted back to the girl’s face, and while at first glance you think she is dead like I originally thought. Her eyes were half closed, but it was the deadness in them that made me think I was wrong, but her fists told her story. Nix’s voice broke through my thought. She is staring at the one taking a photo. Someone else was there. Someone she knew. I opened my mouth but Megan’s soft voice stopped me. Her stomach. There was a soft cry that came from my wolf
