Chapter 10- Betrayal

Penelope was in her chamber, still in a daze. There was a knock on her room's door which brought her out of her world. A brown-haired maid walked in with her head bowed.

"Good Morning, Lady Penelope!", greeted the maid with a bow.

"Good Morning," responded Penelope half-heartedly. Ever since she stepped foot into the palace, strange things have just been happening to her and she so much hated it here.

"My Lady, the king wants you to dine with him in his room," the young maid said, still bowing.

Penelope scoffed annoyingly, "Tell the king that I'm not hungry."

"But..." The maid bit her tongue when she realized what she was about to do. There was a rule in the palace for the maids which was they were not allowed to question their masters. Though she was sent here by the king she had no right to question her decision even though she knows that the lady's response might cost her to face the king's wrath.

"I will, my Lady," the maid responded, walking out of Penny's room.
