Chapter 10

Evadne was almost hoarse from screaming, but she continued just to release the pain in her chest. She was hurt inside and out, as if her sanity was on the verge of breaking. Almost to the point where she contemplated ending Orion and Evadne in her thoughts.

“You’re such an idiot, Orion. You’re shameless! Why did you do this to me?!!!” Evadne’s knees were almost giving in, but she remained standing, screaming. “What you did to me, Orion, is unforgivable. I thought... I thought your feelings for me were genuine? But why did you deceive me?! Huh?! Why?” She weakened her voice, eventually collapsing on the grass. There, she cried even louder.

The memories of catching her husband in the act with another woman in their own bedroom were like a dagger repeatedly stabbing her heart. A memory where she generously let the woman stay in their home.

Now, she found herself in The High Line, overlooking a beautiful view from New York. But that breathtaking view was not why she went there.
