Chapter 2: Meeting cousin Leo

The day felt boring like never before

Waiting from morning to evening all alone in the house just because of some new cousin of mine who is coming over

My mom told me he’ll be here by evening, but it was almost getting to 8pm and still there wasn’t any sign of him

Jennifer and Vivian felt a little disappointed in me for ruining our summer holidays first plan. And I couldn’t blame them

Because it was all my fault

I shouldn’t have been so silly to think this new jerk would show up earlier

Maybe I could have spent some quality time with Jennifer and Vivian during the day

And the most annoying part is I don’t even have that jerk’s number. Or anyone related to him

What if he’s lost his way here?

Or possibly waiting for me at the bus station to come and pick him up?

No! He couldn’t possibly be thinking I would do that

“Humph…” I sighed out loudly and went downstairs to the kitchen to get something cold from the fridge to calm myself down

This Leo cousin of mine has started getting on my nerves even before showing up here

“Ding…dong…”

Just as I got downstairs, I heard the door bell rang

And I assumed it must definitely be that annoying cousin of mine

But surprisingly, he wasn’t the one when I opened the door

Instead, another annoying human being

“What are you doing here Dave? I thought I said we’re through with each other” I crossed my arms over my chest and asked angrily

“Come on Fiori, won’t you even let me in?”

“No way. Please leave right now” I pointed my finger outside

“I’m sorry Fi, I’m truly sorry. Please give me one last chance. I promise to be a better person this time” Dave spoke in a sad calm tone

But I wasn’t going to allow myself to be fooled again by him this time

Dave and I have been dating for the past two years. Even though he never treated me so badly, but he still cheated on me

And on top of that, he went ahead to lie about it

A lot of people in the school got to know about this and started laughing at me here and there

I became the front page of everybody’s gossip newspapers. And the top news for more than a month

Few weeks after I found him cheating on me, the lady also left him

And with this, he came back to apologise. He’s been asking me for another chance for about two months now, and there’s no way I’m going to pay any attention to him

What if he’s just trying to take advantage of me and dump me later again?

No! I surely don’t want to be the top news of the school again

Thinking of this I harshly shut the door at Dave and stood behind it for a while

I could still hear him pleading with sobs but…..

I had to stay strong and ignore him

After getting some juice from the fridge, I went to the hall and turned on the Tv

They were showing some romantic American movie. And I thought maybe it would be nice to watch it while waiting for cousin Leo

And fortunately for me, the door bell finally rang again for the second time

I walked very quickly to the door and opened it

Standing in front of me was a guy, quiet young and tall

He had some small beard with normal facial hairs. His hair was shaved and styled in such a simple way which matched his face pretty well

He had moderate, sharp and curved eyebrows with the best shape of lips I’ve ever seen so far in my life

For about two good minutes, I couldn’t take my eyes off his face and just kept on swallowing my saliva

I wanted to say something, maybe to welcome him or ask him if he’s actually my cousin Leo

But not even a single word came out

I was so lost in his good looking face and this made me curse the day countless times

Why did he have to be so damn handsome?

“Hi, you must be Fiori, right?” Leo finally spoke up and broke the silence

But his voice only sent chills down my spine.

It sounded so magnetic and domineering. Everything about him just looked too perfect to ignore

“Hello?!” Leo snapped his fingers at me to bring my mind back to earth. I was definitely getting lost in some fantasy dream

“Yes?, I mean yeah. I’m Fiori. And you’re….Leo right?” I finally maintained a calm posture and asked

“Yes. Your mom said I’ll be staying here with you until she gets back” Leo pushed me aside slightly and walked in with with his bag

“Couldn’t you have just said excuse me?” I murmured angrily under my breath

“Sorry, did you say something?” Leo turned to look at me and asked with his brows furrowed

“Whatever. I’ll go and show you your room”

I took the lead upstairs as he followed me with his bag

I know he must have definitely heard what I said. He’s just trying to play dump with me

So annoying

“So, this will be your room. You can unpack your things into that wardrobe and have a bath since you travelled so far” I stood at the door with my arms crossed as Leo observed the room

“It’s my body. I can choose to bath or not. I don’t need you to remind me of that” Leo threw the bag onto the bed and said while inspecting the wardrobe

“I see. You must be very good at cracking jokes. And I hate such people”

“Well that’s your own problem not mine kid” Leo smile slyly at me and started unpacking his things into the wardrobe

“Kid? Who’s a kid here?” I asked angrily

“You of course. If I remember very well the last time I saw you you were still peeing anywhere outside” Leo glanced at me and smiled

“What? You’re so annoying. Ugh!” I rolled my eyes angrily at him and left

This is our first time meeting per my memory. And he’s already being this much annoying?

I know this house will turn on fire if my mom doesn’t return any time soon

….
