Chapter 05.

Catherine's Pov

Immediately, I felt a jolt pass through my body cause I couldn't believe my ears, my whole being shivered with pain as his dagger-like words pierced through every part of me. What did Lauren just call me?

A slut? No, I had to be the one who had heard him wrongly, there was no way he would have called me a slut.

"Lauren." Lucas's voice became stern as he called.

"Yes, Dad," Lauren answered as he looked at his dad.

"Do you know her?" Lucas frowned as he asked once again.

"No, I don't know her dad," Lauren replied as he glared at me, disdain evident in those eyes.

If glares could kill, I was afraid I would have already died a hundred times over as Lauren seemed to hate me. What the hell had I done to him?

He loved me and I loved him too? I was the one who was supposed to be angry as he left me to fend for myself and his babies for more than three years, but yet it was the other way round.

"Dad, why do you even think I would know someone like her? I mean just look at her, even the servants in our Villa look and dress better than her." Lauren continued angrily.

"She's just from a rural village and probably knows that we are rich so she pretended to be my girlfriend so she could extort us, she looks like a teenager, having her would be a form of child abuse." He huffed and my heart contracted painfully again.

"I'm not a teenager, I am an adult and you know this" I shouted at him and he scoffed.

I was eighteen when I met him three years ago, he knew I was a young girl trying to survive and yet he fucked me and got me pregnant!

"Shut up you bitch! I won't let your plans work. Do you think I don't know?" Lauren sneered as he turned to me.

"You'd better get the hell outta here before I call the police on you." He continued.

"But..."

"Shut your poverty-stricken mouth up and go to hell bitch." Lauren yelled as he interrupted me.

"Get the hell out of my house slut, or else I don't mind calling the police on you." Lauren continued.

At the moment, it was as though the world was going to collapse as I couldn't believe my ears. What the hell was Lauren saying?

Had I mistaken him for another person? No that shouldn't be possible, I was very careful when I was doing my search, so there was no way I had mistaken him for someone else.

But how can the arrogant man standing a few feet away from me, cursing and insulting my person be my lovely Lauren?

Lauren was a sweetheart, a man I'd fallen in love with. Out of many, I accepted him because he was different, so different.

No. No. This can't be my Lauren.

"Lauren...."

"Don't you dare call my name slut." Lauren interrupted me with a fierce expression.

"What the hell is happening?" A feminine voice sounded as a figure walked in.

"Lauren, why do you look all angry as though someone is trying to frustrate the life out of you?" The figure asked, walking towards us. Everything about her screams beauty and wealth but who cares, I have a problem right here.

"My love..." Lauren called, kissing the lady slightly on the lips and I thought my heart would stop beating and maybe... Just maybe, I'll slump and die another death.

"Isn't it that bitch who came out of no place and told my father she's my girlfriend?" Lauren sneered as he pointed at me.

Once again, my heart was broken into pieces, I couldn't believe someone's words could have so much effect on me. Lauren had a girlfriend? I just couldn't believe it.

Moreover, he was addressing me as bitch. What the hell had I done to deserve a faith like this? I had truly loved him, I worshiped Lauren.

"Is that true bitch?" The lady sneered as she looked at me.

"I'm his girlfriend, I'm not trying to frame him or anything." I frowned as I replied, giving her a look that could burn her over and over again.

"Shit the fuck up bitch! You're a liar, I'll call the police on you if you don't leave at once." The girl frowned.

"Who the hell do you think you're calling a bitch?" I frowned as I looked at the woman.

I could still unwillingly accept if Lauren called me a bitch, but then I wasn't going to allow someone. who pooped out of nowhere insult me. I wasn't tagged ‘Spitfire’ for nothing.

That was impossible, I had to let her know her place.

"Vixen, I'd advise you to stay out of this. You're not Lauren, but a slut he'll later dispose of sooner or later." I sneered.

"How dare you call me a slut?" The lady yelled.

"Lauren, are you sure you don't know her?" Lucas's voice came just before the woman could say anything.

"Yes Dad, I don't know her," Lauren replied firmly.

"Then how do you explain that?" Lucas frowned as he pointed at Laurel and Leo who were sitting beside me.

"Huh?"

Lauren froze as he stared at the two of them in shock. I was sure he didn't notice them before and just did. Besides, the twins looked like him so I was sure there was no way he would be able to deny the fact that he was their father.

"Father, are you implying they are my kids?" Lauren frowned.

Hearing this, a sense of crisis enveloped me.

"Yeah," Lucas replied.

"Dad, how can you look down on me so much?" Lauren burst out in a fit of rage.

"Those children are not mine. How are they even mine? The fact that they look like me doesn't mean they are mine."

"Besides, don't you know that all this is just a scheme to extort money from us? There's no way I'm accepting those bastards as my children." Lauren yelled.

"Who the hell do you think you're calling a bastard?" I flared out.

I couldn't hold it in any longer. First, he had denied knowing me, then he had called my children bastards. No, it was unacceptable.

"You Impregnated me and I gave birth to them. They are your children so they are not bastards." I continued.

"Who cares if they are bastards or not, all I know is that there's no way I'm the father to those kids. Why the hell will you even try to push someone else's responsibility on me huh?" Lauren snorted.

"You'll be leaving this instant, I can't tolerate the presence of someone like you." Lauren continued much to my shock.

"Guards!" He yelled.

I frowned as I looked at Lauren's father who was observing the situation with a slight frown.

I wanted to ask him to help as I knew I wasn't lying. Besides, Laurel and Leo were to evidence, they looked like Lauren so much that one would be immediately convinced he was their father.

Yet he was denying what was an obvious truth. No this shouldn't be happening. It shouldn't happen.

I sighed feeling rather helpless. Though I didn't want to accept my fate, I was going to have no other choice but to do so.

Lauren denied knowing me and also denied his children. There was nothing left for me.

"Lauren." Lucas's voice came, breaking the silence.

"She's going nowhere until we have a DNA test to prove if they are your children or not," Lucas said calmly.

"Father, can't you just believe me, I'm sure they are not my children." Lauren frowned as he looked at his children.

"Nope, I'm not going to believe you." Lucas shook his head firmly.

"I don't care, Dad, even if the DNA is done and they are mine, I won't accept them as my children. Never in a lifetime will I accept them." Lauren yelled as he walked out of the living room banging the door in the process.
