Chapter Eight

I stared at the pills in my hand with uncertainty , there were becoming less and effective, this was twice the dosage , but I needed it to sooth my aching nerves. 

The nightmare and flashbacks were hitting me more frequently than ever. 

Sometimes of dad.... Other times it was about him.

The first time he scarred me would  forever remain vivid in my memories. 

I had been just sixteen.

Dad had wanted to strike that deal .  It had not mattered to him the price he had to pay for it. 

And unfortunately I was that price. 

But then,  it hadn't been just that once nor even twice. 

My lungs burned tight from lack of oxygen , I shut my eyes closed as the haunting memories replayed,  it's shadowy cold fingers reached out to drag me into its unbreakable shackles.
