The whole day was boring but she didn't ponder on it much. She was accustomed to living alone so those surprise birthday parties and posh gifts were never her yearnings, all she ever wanted was love but got loneliness instead.
Having nothing to do she decided to pamper herself a little. Switching on her phone she opened YouTube and searched for videos on how to make face scrubs and stuff with kitchen products.
And then she busied herself with her manicure, pedicure, and other stuff.
After showering, she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her skin was white, her bosoms were big but her tummy wasn't taut nor chubby it was normal, her waist wasn't tiny but it was small, then she had hourglass-shaped hips and thick thighs. But the vicious scar on her ribs was a great reminder of her ugliness. Overall she looked fat. That's why her bullies call her fatty all the time.
It's not her fault that she was this way. It was all genetic. She inherited this from her mother.
Now as she recalled her mother. Bitter tears formed in her eyes. Wearing her bathrobe she got out and took out her family photo from her cupboard. Her tears fell on her cheeks as she caressed the faces of her parents through the photo frame.
She remembered how they used to celebrate her birthday. It used to be so much fun with all her friends and family but now there's nothing left. She was all alone but she thanked God so much for the blessing like Connor. He was her brother that she never had. He was the only person she could call her family.
At exactly 8 she was ready. Wearing a large hoodie on top she wore a cap with black jeans. The hoodie was long enough to cover her hips. Wearing a mask she waited for Connor.
After ten minutes Connor came and they left. Once away from that area. She removed her cap and opened her hair.
Connor took her to a fancy restaurant and she was sure it was expensive. They settled down at the table near the window and were given a menu to look at.
"We could've gone somewhere else." She suggested a little unwillingly after looking at the prices of dishes.
Connor rolled his eyes. "It's your birthday Em. Don't worry." He smiled, making her tension fade away.
"Would you like to order sir?" The waiter asked and Connor nodded as they both ordered their food. Emma chose lasagna whereas Connor chose steak with red wine.
As Emma was 18 now. She can drink alcohol but the good girl in her didn't let her even touch it nor did Connor force her to drink it.
She wasn't dressed in fancy clothing like all the other people in this place cause she thought they would go to some sort of regular restaurant or cafe but she liked it here.
They ate their food while Connor talked about his games and even told her the stories of his game as to how his team qualified for the finals. Though he's an athlete and quite popular, he acts nothing like that.
When they finished, she was taken off guard when a waiter came with a small chocolate cake on a plate with candles on it.
Connor stood up and started singing a happy birthday song. A wide grin appeared on her face as she made a wish and blew the candles.
After that she cut the cake and fed him, he on the other hand not only fed her but also applied chocolate cream on her cheek making her laugh loudly.
They both ate the cake and Connor paid the bill. Even though he didn't let her see the total, she summed up the amount in her head and made a note in her head to spend that much money or more on his birthday.
They walked out of the restaurant and started walking slowly towards the bus stop which was at some distance.
"I enjoyed today, Connor." She said happily with a smile on her face.
"This is for you." He took out a rectangle box wrapped in gift paper. A grin appeared on her lips as she took that gift.
"Can I open it?" She asked excitedly, making him nod.
"Go ahead." He ushered her to open it.
She opened the box and a smile appeared on her lips looking at the beautiful bracelet. Emma engraved in gold was dangling on that bracelet. She loves it.
"It's beautiful." She muttered before placing it in her bag.
"I want to talk to you about something Emma." He said softly making her brows furrow because he was serious which rarely happens.
"What happened?" She asked softly and he gave her a small smile.
"Let's sit in the park." He said and she nodded as they walked into the park and they sat down on the bench.
Emma was quiet and nervous. She knew whatever this news was, it was serious and she wouldn't like it. The vibes of her not liking it was stronger.
"You know I've applied to play soccer at Manchester United F.C.," He said softly and she nodded her head.
"I'm selected as a trainee." He said lowly and a squeal escaped her lips and she jumped up in happiness.
"OH MY GOD!" She chirped, making him chuckle as he grabbed her hand and pulled her back on the bench.
"But for that, I've to go to Manchester." He announced the news and her heart dropped but she didn't let her smile leave her lips.
"So what's the problem?" She asked softly while pretending.
"I've to leave tomorrow." He mumbled slowly with a sad face and she knew how much it hurt him. And if she said no he would never leave her but she can't be that selfish.
"Gosh, I'm so happy. But why the sad face?" She asked softly.
"I don't want to leave you alone." He said sadly, making her heart constrict.
"It's not a big deal. I can live alone but I cannot live with you; not achieving your goal." She mumbled softly, making him shocked.
"Emma I-" She cut him off.
"You're my brother from another mother and I want what's best for you. You can go but don't forget to call me every day." She said with a warning making him chuckle as he ruffled her hair lovingly.
"It's a big deal, little sis." He smiled.
They were engrossed in their happy moment when they heard a loud growl from behind them.
"MATE!"
She abruptly looked behind and her eyes widened when they met with the enraged forest green ones.
"MATE!" She abruptly looked behind and her eyes widened when they met with the enraged forest green ones. Emma froze in her place as Connor too stood up staring at the man who was breathing heavily as if enraged. Blade growled inside his head to rip his mate away from that man but Xander tried to control himself. He cannot let anyone know what he was or else the words would be out and his whole plan would be a complete disaster. But she was his fucking mate! The same little girl who always seemed to run away from him was his mate. He never thought that he would ever have a mate. That too a human mate. He was sure for a
The next day Emma got ready. She wore a large button-up shirt and skin-tight high waist jeans, the idea of tucking her shirt in felt appealing but the mocking and hooting of being called fatty didn't let her proceed with her idea so she let the shirt stay as it was. Making herself a strong coffee with toast and fried egg. She ate her food in silence. The reason she had time to eat breakfast was that Connor came in the early morning to meet her as his flight was in an hour. They both cried and he instructed her how to be cautious all the time and many more safety tips. After that, he left and she didn't feel like sleeping so she just lay on her bed and cried her heart out but she was strong enough to compose herself. She took a fresh bath and changed. Now she was eating her breakfast and decided to call Connor but
Emma contemplated whether to knock at the door of his office or make a beeline out of the academy. But she recalled how he commanded her on Friday to be in his office on time. Veronica was hot on her tail, following her almost everywhere to make sure that Emma didn't meet Mr. Colt but here she was ready to face the dangerous man. 'It's okay Emma, be confident and straightforward. Tell him your reason and flee out of his dark presence. Easy peasy.' With a deep breath, she knocked on the door. After a whole minute, a loud come-in was heard. Closing her eyes she twisted the knob and the door creaked open. Emma walked inside with her eyes cast down to the floor. She didn't even take the first step forward when his voice resonated in the whole room.
Xander waited patiently for the class to end. As soon as he entered the class in which she was present. He was hit hard by her exquisite scent. It was difficult for him to pretend that there was nothing wrong when in fact there was everything wrong. She didn't once look up but whenever he would face the board. Her burning gaze could be felt on him. Blade was a restless caged beast inside him wanting to hold his mate but he had to wait. The torturous class ended soon and she was the first to flee the class. Was she ignoring him deliberately? Maybe. He was free for now but the girl still had one class left until she would enlighten him with her presence. After a while, he sme
Emma was frozen in her place. Every nerve in her body was hyper-aware of his proximity. His masculine scent and his dominating aura. All the blood drained out of her system and a chill ran down her spine when she felt a wet lick on her neck just where her vein was pulsating. Unknown gratifying sparks flew at that particular area, making her gasp. "Fuck!" He cussed and that was when she came back to her senses. Her small hands shot up and landed on his hard muscular chest as she gave him a push. Her eyes widened slightly when she felt tingles when she touched him. The beast of a man didn't even budge. "M-move!" She cried out while pushing at his chest but the man in front of her was an immovable rock. She felt his wolf pendant under her palm.
Emma was distracted the whole time at work. Her mind kept on going back to Mr. Colt or should she even call him that after all the things he did with her behind the closed doors of his office. She was sounding as if he had done something catastrophic but that man hasn't even touched her except with that lick of his tongue. Her body jolted while recalling those sensations that raked her body with that flick of his tongue. After finishing up she was wearing her large hoodie and cap and came out of the restroom getting startled by the sudden presence of Stacy at the door. "Are you alright?" Her voice held concern. Maybe she noticed that there was something wrong with Emma. "I'm fine," Emma answered softly and gave her a small smile.
Emma got a little late in the morning, so visiting the head would lead her to miss her first class which she can't. So she decided to talk to him later and went to her first science class. The class went smoothly. After class Emma went to her locker and swapped her books with the next period ones. Students were crowding the corridors. Her locker was banged shut by a strong force as she jerked back in horror. Just the thought of her fingers in there made her blood cold. Her angry eyes turned to glare at the culprit who was none other than Jack aka Jackass. "What's wrong, fatty? Did I make you angry?" He mused innocently. Emma clenched her jaw, locked her locker, and tried to walk away but whom she was kidding. Her way was blocked by the large body of Landon aka Jerk.
"Now apologies to Mr. Colt," Dean said. Her face became pale at the sudden demand of the dean. Why would she apologize when she hasn't done anything? "Mr. C-Colt c-cornered m-" Her lips trembled when the dean cut her in the middle. "Last chance Emma. If you want to keep your scholarship, you must apologize now." Dean roared, making a tear escape her eye. This was an injustice. She hates him! "I-I'm s-sorry." Her throat clogged up and her respect burned into ashes. This was a complete injustice. "Good. Now you can go and I hope no more complaints of yours will be coming to my office." Dean said calmly this time.
