Chapter 22

Guilia

Watching him trot out of the room with that annoying satisfied smirk plastered on his lips while replaying everything that happened made me want to disobey his wishes. I didn’t want to go downstairs for any surprise that he might have cooked up just to appease me and his conscience, but his outburst earlier was scary, bone-chilling to be precise and I wasn’t sure I had the energy to protest.

Heaving a deep sigh of resignation, I picked myself up slowly from the ground, silently mourning the demise of my phone. It was only a day with Alessio, but I was beyond exhausted and then, he made it impossible to speak with the only man that would have helped me feel better.

I shed a tear, walking in unsure and reluctant steps until I got to the bathroom and then I turned on the shower, allowing the water droplets of the water to wash off the smudge of depression that stuck to my skin so persistently.

By the time I got out of our room, I was feeling way better than before. I c

Chapter 26GuiliaThe back of my head throbbed with a burning pain that didn’t want to stop no matter how many angles I tried to keep my head in. Worst still, when I turned again, I felt a twinge on my neck. It intensified with the breeze grazing against it and then I forced my eyes open.It had been shut for a while, maybe hours or days, but I couldn’t keep up with time because of the ache that didn’t stop spreading throughout my body.I almost jerked when my eyes made contact with another brown set gazing at me, in a probing, unsettling manner. She was a woman, I realized, through the softness of her face, the pointedness of her beautiful nose and the brown hair that framed her head. “You are finally awake,” She declared with relief, her lips spreading with a smile. My throat was parched as I tried to swallow, but I gulped anyway. When I was sure that my throat wouldn’t hurt if I tried to talk, I opened my mouth. “Who are you and why am I here?” My voice was gruff, I couldn’t even

Chapter 25Vladimir In a club, slightly far from Rossi's ball, I let a strange woman entertain me. Her soft ass jiggled as she twerked seductively in front of me, the thin strap of her thong, digging into the folds of her huge butt. I should have been excited by her art of seduction. A lot of men were willing to pay ten times more than I did to have her dance for them, but it was obvious in her eyes, through the grey contact lenses that masked the original color of her eyes that she wanted me.It would have been more rewarding if I wanted her too, but even though she kept on grinding on my dick all night, I’d never have her in my bed all because the woman who constantly rejected me remained stuck in my head.“You seem uninterested, Mr, aren’t you enjoying it?” In her question hid the anxiety that she worked hard to overcome while dancing for me.I shook my head, my fingers tapping the table beside me in a familiar rhythm. “You’re doing well,” A smile pulled at her lips as she bit

Chapter 24GuiliaNo.It couldn’t just end so easily between us. How could I explain myself when I didn't even understand what was going on? Apparently, something had happened that night and Alessio had injected me with a drug that cleared every memory that I had about what happened just to keep me in a limbo and the worst part was his outright denial. My body shuddered hysterically with indescribable fury. One that clouded my vision and made my head throb. The second our eyes met; I was standing by the doorway, the security men who had been assigned to keep watch over the guests and ensure that no stranger got in nearly shielded my view, but I barreled through them, folding my arms as I kept my gaze fixed on the vile man who called himself my husband.A flicker of realization crossed his dark orbs and then he finished the last line of his speech, afterward passing the microphone to the anchor who implored the guests to give him an ovation. His lips stretched into a faux smile that d

Chapter 23GuiliaAs I alighted from the car, the only words that rang in my ears while standing in front of the magnificent venue that the event planner had chosen weren’t the ones I’d been reciting in front of my bathroom’s mirror like a mantra, they were Alessio’s.“Ensure that you give our guests the best ball party of their lives. You don’t know what will happen if you fall short of my expectations.” His constant sneer had planted itself in my brain till now.Every morning till this moment, I lived for those words, by those words. He had mentioned that I couldn’t challenge his decisions, so how could I have told him that I’d never organized a get-together party in my life. My father didn’t even see me fit to handle any worthwhile task so I stayed hidden in my room and fought boredom with tons of movies and romance books.I’d handed everything over to the event manager while working side by side with her, but never was my heart at peace because of the overwhelming responsibility

Chapter 21GuiliaMy eyes opened slowly to the harsh rays of the sun that bounced off on the champagne travertine, a reminder that the night was over and a new day had emerged. However, the enthusiasm that the bright weather carried failed to rub off on me as I struggled to get into a sitting position.Sharp aches traveled through my joints, my muscles spasming with each slight move I made, but it wasn’t more terrifying than the fact that I couldn’t remember why I was in this situation, why my body sang with pain as if I’d barely just made it through a stampede.I shut my eyes slowly, forcing my mind to remember everything that happened last night, but strangely, my brain was as blank as that of a newborn. I shook my head vigorously, hoping that my jerky movements would at least do something to my jarred memories, but everything remained as it was, bare and unyielding.Something happened last night I was sure of it, even my nudity that was hidden under this thick duvet was enough proo
