LUCA’S POV

I bolted to my room like some kid sneaking cookies before dinner. Smooth, Lucas. Real smooth. Invite the guy over, then vanish like he’s carrying the plague.

The worst part? My heart was still pounding as if I’d just sprinted laps. Why am I like this?

I heard the front door open and shut then

“Lucas! Should I come up?” Xane’s voice carried up the staircase.

I opened my room door and stuck my head out. “You can sit in the living room! Give me five minutes.”

The house was blissfully quiet. Dad wasn’t home, which was a miracle. I leaned against my door, my chest tight. Breathe Lucas. Just breathe. It wasn’t even anything crazy Xane said, just… the way he said it. Low. Teasing. Too close.

I peeled off my clothes, jumped into the shower, and cranked the water cold. That helped a little, though it did nothing for the way my thoughts kept drifting back to him sitting casually in our living room waiting for me.

By the time I stepped out, I’d convinced myself to stop being a cowar

I hate it too but technically they haven’t accepted each other yet. Lucas and Bennett still have a lot of growing up to do before they can be together 🫠

  • Sinister Storm   Blood doesn’t mean loyalty

DALTON’S POVI’ve never seen a woman drive the way Mrs Baxter does. She drove exactly like she handled business — smooth, fast, and in total control. I sat in the passenger seat, my fingers tapping the console as she drove.“Dalton,” she suddenly spoke up whilst still keeping her eyes on the road, “you promised me you’d keep your temper in check. No matter what happens today, you stay hidden. If you lose it, if he even senses you’re alive, all of this falls apart.”“I said I’d do my best,” I muttered, my jaw tight. “But I need to see him. I need to see how my brother turned out.”“You don’t need to see him. You need to stay invisible.” Her voice softened slightly, though it didn’t lose its edge. “You’ve waited years. Don’t ruin it in one reckless second.” “You know the only reason why I’m having this extended meeting is to delay him long enough so Xane can have enough time to go in and out and find the documents that we need from Dominic’s study.”I clenched my fists, forcing air th

XANE’S POVIf Lucas had been even a little less distracted, I’d be in deep shit. Thank God he hadn't noticed. The second his lips met mine, I knew I’d derailed him completely. His curiosity about me being in his Dad’s study hadn't let him calm down enough to notice that I had snagged some USB drives, which were now safely nestled in my pocket. There was a locked safe I had tried to pick but I hadn't gotten any luck before his call came in letting me know that he was looking for me so I had quickly left it. But then Kissing Lucas had made all plans I had to open the safe to evaporate. I knew I was attracted to him but I hadn't expected to be this affected by him.The kiss was definitely the best highlight of my day. Maybe my week even.I would’ve taken it further too, full make out, maybe give him his first sexual experience. Lucas didn’t exactly hold back, but then his mother showed up being a divine cockblocker. Perfect timing. Thanks, Mrs. Storm. We pulled apart as his mum closed

  • Sinister Storm   Hate that cocky bastard

Bennett’s PovThe second Lucas left the room, I felt my wolf clawing under my skin, a restless fury buzzing within me. My fingers curled into fists, the vein in my head pulsing so hard I felt my head might explode. The nerve of Xane. Walking in here with no care, almost like he was challenging me. Smirking at me like I was some sort of joke while Lucas smiled at him. Acting like he hadn’t done anything wrong. He’s trying to take him from us, my wolf snarled, the voice rough and feral. And you just let him stand there, looking at Lucas like that. You did nothing.Shut up, I snapped back, though the guilt burned within me. I had done nothing because I’d been half-broken and stuck in a hospital bed. But that didn’t make the humiliation sting less.‘Then fix it. Make him pay.’Yeah. Oh, I would. If Xane thought I would sit back while he charmed his way into Lucas’s life, he was dead wrong. I grabbed my phone off the tray table, my thumb stabbing at Ryder’s number.“Yo,” he answered on t

XANE’S POVThe hospital doors slid open with a soft hiss, letting in the morning air. I held them long enough for Lucas to step through. I could see that he was distracted. He had been quiet since we walked out. He didn’t say a word, didn’t even glance at me.Fine. I’d give him space for now. If I pushed, he’d clam up and refuse to talk to me.I walked him to my car, unlocked it with a quick key flick, and pulled the passenger door open.“After you.”“Thanks,” he muttered, sliding in. He didn't make eye contact. His jaw was tight, like he was chewing something bitter.I shut the door behind him and circled to the driver’s side. “Where to?”“Home,” he said after a moment’s pause. “My pack house.”I nodded, hiding my smile. Good. If I played this right, I’d finally get a foot inside Storm territory without anyone raising alarms or being suspicious of my movements. Dalton would be pleased. Maybe I’d even find something useful. But I kept my expression neutral as I started the car.The ri

  • Sinister Storm   Beat yourself up

LUCAS’S POVXane’s weight pressed me into the mattress, his knee braced between my legs, His stupid smirk hovered an inch from my face.“Lost the bet, Lucas,” he said lazily, his voice low and amused. “You know what that means.”Before I could roll my eyes, he leaned down and placed a kiss on my cheek.“Dude, cut it out,” I groaned, shoving at his chest. “This isn’t funny.”“Who said I was joking?” His tongue flicked across my collarbone, trailing kisses and sucking my neck.. My skin tingled where he touched me, and I hated that I didn’t hate it.“This is ridiculous,” I muttered, trying to shove him off—And then I jolted awake. Fuck, I was dreaming..The room was bright with morning light. The lingering heat of the dream still clung to my skin. And standing at the foot of the hospital bed very real, very much not a dream was Xane.I blinked at him, then, like an idiot, reached out and patted his cheek. “You’re… real?”He arched an eyebrow, his lip curling in amusement. “Unless you’v
