Bennet’s POV

I stared at Lucas as he asked me to leave. I really didn't know what to do anymore and I honestly couldn't afford to lose him.

The words were calm, but his voice was distant, detached in a way that made my stomach turn. He stood with his hands shoved deep in his hoodie pocket, his weight on one leg like he couldn’t wait for me to be gone.

Why does he look so damn happy? Is it Xane? Has he already replaced me?

“Don’t let him push you away.” My wolf snarled, pacing inside my head, claws scraping at the edges of my mind. “He’s yours. Fight for him.”

But fight how? With what? My fists clenched at my sides, knuckles pale. I was seconds from either grabbing him and demanding the truth, or dropping to my knees like some pathetic idiot. I hated myself for even thinking about begging.

I felt stupid though, and desperate.It felt like I was clawing at something that was already slipping through my fingers.

    Bennet's POV I was rubbing the back of Lucas's hand with my thumb when I heard the shouts. What is going on? I released his hand trying to listen in on what was happening.Was there another attack again I thought. "Don't hurt me." I heard this time clearer. And it sounded like Kyle.     Xane's POVI don't know why I have been feeling overly anxious since I woke up. I feel like something bad is going to happen but I can't even think about what it is going to be.I'm currently in Lucas's room pacing around, with Bennet of course sitting beside him. I turn my head to the monitor at any slightest loud beeping. I was scared. Something might happen to him, and then I remembered Kyle.     Bennet's POV"Just please wake up." I mumbled even though Lucas couldn't hear. I was the only one in this room, everybody was already sleeping. Dr. Reynolds has been doing his duty and telling us that he was getting better.But I was tired of hearing that he was getting better and that is literally what Dr. Reynolds is telling us right now.
