Due to writer's block, Siren's blood will be on break for the whole of April 2023, it will come back next week better. I have been going through some lack of creativity in the story, given it my first fantasy story and I need a lot of work to tackle the genre in my own way.
I have a clear vision on how I want to steer the story, I just don't know how to execute the ideas yet, I will be learning more about the genre and the mythical creatures I plan to introduce in the future.
Thank you for the support thus far, in the meantime you can check out My scam marriage, my other story if romance is your thing.

Good dayThank you so much for supporting me up until now. Writing this I learned a lot of things. Walking this long journey with me, through writer's block, broken laptop, restoring every story from scratch and all, I am happy that we are able to see Dean and Avisa's stor conclude. Thank you for the support and constructive feedback.Regards, MonarchTheFirst.
[Ophelia’s POV]The war had taken so much from us, but it also gave us a lot of lessons. When Avisa told me that she would be stepping down, I was not surprised at all.Avisa was not one to aspire to lead. For some reason, I felt like she had planned this all along. From the first day she declared that I was not just her second hand, I was her sister. She was going to give me the throne, and her leaving to see the world didn’t surprise me either. We had only lived in a secluded area of the sea, and Avisa was naturally curious. She wanted to see more than just the sea corals.“Your highness, someone is here to see you,” taking over as crown princess was not as challenging as Avisa had somewhat trained me to be so.Having to boss around Aran was just an icing on the cake, but the problem lies in him, the man that couldn’t stop visiting.“Your highness,” said Arnoux Crescent, the man who used his positi
[Avisa’s POV]The war was surely turning out to be too much. I could feel fatigued from the hours of fighting. I didn’t know when it would end, but I wanted it to end positively. I had seen them almost take my best friend and slash my father’s face.We fought a formidable opponent, and the cause of it all, the cause of Penelope Stoker, she had caused it all.I wanted her head, the head of the woman who took my mother, the woman who turned my mate into a sob story. She needed to be taken down, and maybe in my pursuit I got distracted. My father and Ophelia’s screams in union jolts me awake to a vampire behind me attacking me.It is Jordan’s stoker that takes the attack head on, taking all the damage. Dean immediately secures my back as Penelope is attacking me as well.I felt dazed, it seemed Mr. Stoker was taking his last breath, “Focus Avisa!" Dean screamed at me.“Your…... your father
[Ophelia’s POV]My aim was one thing: I had told Avisa already what I wanted, to kill my mother, for killing my father because of her insecurities.I wanted to see her face when I, the daughter she was so ashamed of her, killed her. I wanted to see her eyes when I disappointed her just when she took her last breath.I hated how she was rescued; they should have left her there so she could suffer, but at least she was helping us take care of the enemy.Getting closer to her was quite hard, but soon I was face to face with the woman that gave birth to me.“How does it feel, mother? Do you feel dumb now?” she clearly was not swallowing her pride because she attacked me as I spoke. But she was already weakened, and her slaps were very weak. Her nails couldn’t even scrape me.“This is what you get for being so stupid,” I repeated the words she had told me repeatedly when she would beat me up after Avisa
[Dean’s POV]The war started as quickly as Penelope arrived. We were clearly outnumbered, but one this is for sure they underestimated my little Avisa, because half of the vampires were charging. We were stopped by one scream from my Avisa alone.“What is that?” Arnoux said, pointing to a machine drawing blood, with someone hooked in the middle.“My mother,” Ophelia says, appearing next to him. He seemed startled when he saw her. “How pathetic, she probably thought they would treat her like a queen. Now she is just an endless blood supply. Kill her first.”Ophelia’s command comes as a shock to most. If that was her mother, why would she want her dead? She clearly looked at me, sensing my judgement.“What, she has already chosen her side? We need to stop more vampires from powering up, so she needs to be taken out.” She was firm and decisive, clearly not playing like a perfect daughter at a
[Avisa’s POV]In many tales of the first blood that she had read, and in all of them, her ancestors ended up in humiliation. If it was not for the sun and the sea, they wouldn’t have survived. This time she needs to change the reign, they need to end up victorious, they need to show the fury of a siren.“You look ready,” her father’s voice jolts her awake, “my daughter, whatever happens today, I will protect you and see to it that you survive.”He hugged her before giving her a kiss on the forehead. The best warriors of the sea were gathered. As confident as I was, I still fear the unknown.“Father,” I said softly, “I don’t want the throne.”Bold words to say before a war, but I felt like, with the ambiguity of this war, I needed to let my father know that I really had no dream of being a successor. He giggles softly, “I know, and I am okay with it. I made p
