The annual festivities in honor of the City Day were held on a grand scale. In the central square of Zamira, a large stage was built in a few days, where poets, musicians and other representatives of culture performed from the very morning.

A performance on the city stage was considered almost the main achievement in the life of any artist, since all the participants for this action were personally selected by the royal steward. Folk festivals, fairs and festive concerts were held not only in the central square, but also in all the streets of the capital, more or less suitable for performances.

The city breathed a holiday, joyful excitement seemed to capture every local resident. I wore a maroon velvet dress and a fur-trimmed wool coat. All winter clothes were made for me by Lady Amalia, although without my participation. The dress had some gold embroidery on the collar and sleeves, which was quite modest by Lady Holm's standards.
