Shawn suppressed the tumultuous thoughts in his mind. He only thought of going home. He hoped Gale would only wake in the morning. He did not want her to know about any of this. By tomorrow, when she opened her eyes and saw the familiar master bedroom, the familiar curtains, and the familiar surroundings, she would not know what had happened that night. After dressing Gale, Shawn lifted his gaze and shot a piercing stare at Aurum. Aurum had sat up, leaning against the wall, holding his chest where a faint trickle of blood stained his lips. He wiped it away, looking at Shawn.
