Kelsey POV:
When I woke up, it was already afternoon; I panicked and jumped out of bed in a hurry to run out.
‘How can I sleep so much? I don't even prepare Brian's morning. Will he get mad?' I asked Oralie quickly.
She is reticent today; I feel a little strange, I asked. ‘Oralie, what happened to you?’
Oralie didn't answer quickly as if she was thinking about something; after a while, she spoke in disbelief. ‘Kelsey, are you not paying attention? Where is the copper pot in our room?'
I frowned and looked back at the table in the room; I clearly remember last night before going to bed; it was empty. In this house, it's just Brian and me; could it be that he helped me reduce my fever?
It turned out that the strange feeling last night wasn't my dream. At that time, I felt my body heat up, and my strength disappeared. I opened my eyes uncomfortably; in front of me was Brian's blurred face, thinking, but at best, I assumed it was my imagination when I was not awake.
Thinking of that, my fear of him disappeared yesterday, and my heart overflowed with sweetness.
The sudden movement up my spine hurt me in half, and it took a while for me to stand up straight.
I carried the pot in a happy mood and went out. In the kitchen, I was preparing lunch while humming some songs.
'Kelsey, Brian's here,' Oralie reminded me cheerfully.
Suddenly feeling cold behind, I tilted my head and looked back to see Brian standing with his arms crossed with his back against the refrigerator, staring at me.
"Fine?" He spoke neither fast nor slow; his posture was highly casual.
I was scared for a moment; my mouth muscles froze. Brian never appears here at this hour. Is it because I have not recovered from my illness but fantasized about it?
Next is the movement of him opening the refrigerator to get a bottle of water, looking at me with curiosity, then turning his back to leave.
Only then did I react to the person in front of me who was him, although it was hard to believe?
I hastily called back. "Sir Brian."
Hearing my call, he turned his head, waiting for me to continue.
Remembering last night, my cheeks warmed up again, and the joy in my heart overwhelmed my shyness; I grinned. "Thank you."
Brian doesn't mind me; he smirks and walks out. What's more strange is that he didn't return to the bedroom but sat in the living room.
“Sir Brian, would you like to have an early dinner?” I poked my head out.
Brian checked his watch and said. "No need, change clothes and prepare to follow me out."
I was stunned for a while before fully digesting his words; even though I had a thousand questions in my heart, I didn't dare to say many words, immediately nodded, and ran back to the bedroom.
...
Brian had already changed his clothes when I returned to the living room. He wore a beautiful black suit tailored to his figure; I looked dumbfounded for a few minutes.
'Stop looking at him like you want to eat him alive, Kelsey.' Oralie teased me.
I nervously retracted my enamored expression, shyly daring to look at him again.
I also did not dare to ask where we were going; we remained silent when we sat in the car.
When the car stopped, Brian coldly glanced around. "Let's go."
I followed behind him, suddenly understanding now. This is the venue for the welcome back party for Luna Serena. Although she is not here, her position is still irreplaceable; now, returning must do something spectacular once.
I also understand why Brian agreed to go out, even if they were not getting along. However, Luna Serena is still his biological mother, so today's party must be present.
It's still early; Luna Serena and Alpha Arnold have yet to arrive.
Brian is a person who does not like noise; he chooses a hidden position to sit down, slowly enjoying the wine.
Occasionally, a few people would chat with him for a few words, but Brian responded coldly. So after that, many people were looking in his direction, but no one dared to come anymore, just standing in the distance whispering something.
He drank one glass of wine after another; he hadn't eaten all day, and his stomach must be agitated.
“Sir Brian, would you like some cake before the party starts?” I bowed my head and asked.
Brian doesn't seem to care, just caressing the mouth of the glass nonchalantly.
I quickly explained, pointing at. “I saw it as we went in, just over there.”
“I don't….” Brian, who was speaking, suddenly stopped and looked at me, not knowing what he was thinking, and continued. "Go get it."
"Yes. You wait for me five minutes; I will be back on time.” I ran away quickly; Brian didn't like to wait, so I tried to run a little faster.
This place is more significant than I thought earlier. I clearly remember that it's in the south; walk a little bit to see the cake, but I went one day, and the cake didn't even see me; I found myself lost in a garden wide.
It's getting darker and darker; I've been gone for quite a while.
“Hey, stop!”
My back waves stiffened, the blood and blood in my body froze, and my whole body couldn't help but tremble like standing on a knife blade; if I made a mistake, I would be cut off.
'Kelsey... the devil... the devil...' Oralie trembled, her speech confused. 'He's coming; he's a demon...'
I'm no better than her; I'm so shaken that I can't breathe.
The footsteps behind me grew louder and louder, Richard's hot breath on my neck; he grinned with amusement. "Looking from afar, I can see it; it's you."
My legs trembled violently, and with difficulty suppressing the desire to run away, I turned around and shivered, forcing an unsightly smile. “Hello… sir… Richard.” If there were a precipice here, I would agree to jump in without hesitation because, in my memory, Richard is scarier than death.
“Oh, remember me? I kept thinking that recently you have been serving my younger brother, accidentally following him without letting anyone in your eyes?" He smiled, but his eyes were surprisingly sharp, and the bottom of his eyes also revealed morbid cruelty that was hard to hide.
My whole body broke out in cold sweat, stammering. “No… no.” I secretly raised my face to look at his expression, afraid that if I said a word that would make him unhappy, my life would be considered lost.
“Are you living a good life these days?” Richard's rough hand brushed my cheek, then moved to my chin and squeezed it hard. "Compared to serving me, wouldn't it be better to be with him?"
The sudden pain made me not prepare to scream; this made Richard unhappy; his eyes darkened, and his hand’s force became more muscular, making my chin seem broken in two. “Fear of what? I'm not the devil; why are you so scared? Smile at me, and then I forgive you.”
I tried to force a twisted smile, laughing so hard that tears ran down my face, but Richard still had no intention of letting me go. On the contrary, it made him more excited to play.
“Are you still afraid? I told you to smile." Richard narrowed his eyes to reveal a dangerous look. “Didn't you have the guts to run from my mansion before? If you dare to do that, you should also consider the consequences of one day I am interested in finding you."
In an instant, our two children were seven years old. Avis grew up a lot like a little version of Brian, and Alina was exactly like me. Brian loves Alina very much; almost anything she asks for will be pampered. As for Avis, he was much stricter; when Avis was only three years old, he was forced to train on the field.I feel sorry for my son, but thinking about the future responsibility he has to bear, I also let Brian be a little strict. Later Avis will be the incredible Alpha like Brian; he must protect his sister and the Blood Ocean's people. One day when I was cooking, Avis suddenly ran home, hugged me tightly, and burst into tears. I was astonished that not only Avis inherited Brian's appearance but also his personality and copied it over. Since childhood, Avis has been highly independent and challenging; I have never seen him cry, let alone so pitifully.I sat down sadly, stroked my son's hair, and asked. "What happened to my son?"Avis bit his lip and burst into tears. "Father
Lisa glanced up at my ear, then couldn't close her mouth to admire. "It must be costly. Such a large natural pearl is a fortune, and the structure is so special that there is no such thing as a second pair in this world."I laugh, that's for sure; not only is it expensive, but it's also my great spiritual gift. Also, to mark a big step forward in our mother-in-law relationship."Let me help you change your wedding dress." Lisa took the initiative to take out the dress from the mirror. As soon as I saw it, I realized it was the pearl-studded wedding dress displayed in the store that day. I stood up, so surprised that I was speechless. "This is? Why is it here, wasn't it specially designed by someone for his wife?"Lisa laughed, tilting her head. "Then that man is Alpha; he meticulously plans everything. We were just acting together."I froze for a moment, happy to the point of bursting. No wonder that day I kept feeling strange; suddenly, I was given a set in a collection for no reason
By the afternoon, the award ceremony was over. After a long day of sitting in a chair, my butt and back are sore. I turned to look at Brian, who was leisurely strolling beside him. Wouldn't he feel uncomfortable sitting in one place all day? After a lengthy investigation into the old case of my parents, there is finally a result. Brian tracked down Keva, and she confessed all she knew and provided an essential item. Before her death, Keva's father left behind a wooden box containing all the evidence to prove my parents' innocence, which he had collected over the past ten years. Before he died, Alex wanted to return it to me, but he feared Brian, so he put his hopes on Keva. Initially, he wanted Keva to help me, but for a long time, she was blinded by hatred, so she joined Richard's army. After being arrested by Keva, she and I had a very long conversation, so we understood and sympathized with each other more. Keva regretted it and provided me with a wooden box; thanks to it, the inve
Brian's recovery speed is beyond anyone's imagination; he just woke up not long ago; he could walk and walk like an average person, while before that, most of his bones were damaged.I followed Brian, patiently reminding me. "Don't rely on your health too much, or just rest for a few more days at home."Brian smiled softly and patted my head; he turned his eyes to the sun and said. "Being in the room, I feel I will die faster, rather than going out to exercise is also better."I knew I couldn't speak to him, so I just made a tail following him.For a moment, a month had passed, and everything seemed to return to its old trajectory. After Brian fully recovered, under pressure from Harvey and the elders, he returned to his Alpha position. The remaining battles were all handled by Brian most neatly; after that, just hearing his name, everyone had to be afraid to raise the white flag to surrender to reduce losses.Recently I feel that my psychological quality is not good anymore; I do not
"It's me that hurt you so recklessly; if it weren't for me being disobedient, you wouldn't be like this either." I blamed myself, subconsciously pinching my thighs so hard that they bled.Brian looked at me peacefully, without a shred of reproach, on the contrary, praising a sinner like me. "You saved me; if you didn't rush in, I…" Brian coughed, blood gushing from his mouth.I quickly put my hand to stop it; I saw the blood running through my hand, and my eyes hurt again. I cried so much that I almost went blind, but I couldn't help but choke."Don't say..." I said painfully. But Brian was so stubborn; he kept going. "If Richard and I keep going, we will bite each other's necks and die sooner or later. Falling off the cliff has a glimmer of hope, isn't it?""I was trying to keep up with you; I wanted to help you, but…" Although I didn't want to cry, my throat caught in my throat, causing me to stop, turn my face away, and silently burst into tears.Emotion is indeed such a stupid thi
This fight will be won in Brian's favor if he is not injured, but everything seems too early to speculate about the result. After that throw, Brian fell to one knee on the ground, gasping for breath.Richard was motionless for a few seconds after the injury, then sat up hunched over, wiping the blood from the corner of his lips and smiling dangerously. He shook his neck, the sound of bones crunching. He swayed his body; no one expected his next move. Richard rushed to Brian's side with lightning speed, punching him in the head.Brian's face was covered with fog, and while my heart was about to jump out, Brian's eyes were strangely calm.I tightened the gun in my hand, aiming for Richard's head, but the distance was too far, and he was moving so fast I couldn't pull the trigger correctly. Moreover, he is pretty close to Brian; I am afraid that my carelessness will hurt Brian. While I was uneasy, Brian got up; he dodged Richard's attack and, at the same time, grabbed Richard's arm and t
