Chapter 20: Back With My Friends

My gaze went immediately to Maxwell who took a few steps away from us. It has been hours since Adam left and I felt there's something inside my heart I couldn't explain.

Lily and I briefly went to the cashier. The line wasn't long, it's enough for us to wait.

Nothing special happened that day. As far as I remember, it's already six in the evening when we went home and almost seven in the evening when we got home. Just like the usual, streets started shining with their amazing lights and impressed people that passed in the road.

I was just silent the whole trip, thinking if I should call one of my best friends right now and ask how they are. Yet, my fingers didn't move.

My gaze went to my phone. I bit my lower lip thinking ridiculous things such as accusing myself that I'm waiting for someone's call and a bit annoyed because of it.
