"Is that all you're going to drink? What about your lunch?" Axton’s mother furrowed her brow when she saw Sierra walking from the kitchen to her room with just a glass of milk.

"I usually do this during the afternoon," Sierra replied.

"Because Axton isn't home," she said, taking the milk from her hand and guiding her back to the dining table. "I know this is tough for you, but I saw you could eat when I fed you, right? So let’s give it a try."

"I’ll end up throwing up my food at an unexpected time. I don’t think it’s a good idea."

"Yes, but we have to try." She ladled some soup into a bowl and offered it to Sierra. "I’ll stop if you can’t take it anymore, and we can try again later. Do you agree?"

After all the care this woman had shown her, how could Sierra refuse?
