Alicia's voice quivered as she asked hesitantly, "So, I can really see you?" Memories of Tobias's recent call, during which he mentioned the possibility of a future meeting, came flooding back to her. Was the future arriving so soon?

"Yes, that's right. Monday is visitation day at the hospital. But if you don't want to see me, I understand," replied Tobias, his voice even huskier than before as he coughed a few times.
