Staring at the Dukes I invited to inform them of my plans of getting their daughters to live in the palace for a period of time for a selection, behaving stupidly,

without making any sense made me rethink why I decided to explain myself to them.

"Duke Nicholas I gave my orders and decided to make it clear to you since you came to me to be enlightened more about my decision am I right"

I asked calmly

“Yes, your majesty, you are,” Duke Nicholas replied.

“Then why are you both against my orders when I have not finished my words?”

I asked, feeling annoyed, they are really getting on my nerves.

"Your majesty we are sorry but the idea of bringing our maidens to live with your family because of them"

Duke Miles paused his lips and stared at me waiting for my approval to continue which I gave him with a nod and he continued.

"my king this is hilarious, we don't even know who they are, which kingdom, which royal lineage they're from and most importantly their names your majesty.

And to think that our daughters would not want to walk on same path with the other talk more of living under same roof even for a day makes this whole plan ridiculous"

he concluded with a sigh.

"Miles, I am your king and I know what I am doing and what is best for my subjects.

They are going to stay in my palace. Do you get that?

I growled as I addressed him with his title, they know I'm getting angry and irritated and I could see the fear in their eyes,

they know I am not one to be messed with else they might not survive.

"Your majesty I plead for forgiveness for Duke miles attitude, he had shown great disrespect towards you which he should be punished severely for but I plead on his behalf to forgive him for his actions your majesty"

Nicholas pleaded.

He is a sensible man who knows his limits but Miles is just too foolish

and I would have loved to teach him a lesson and show him his place but I would only let it slide because of Duke Nicholas sake, waving my hand.

"fine, but warn your dear friend to watch his mouth and shouldn't questions my authority,

I have always done what is best for my people and I would not plan to do otherwise now” I said truthfully.

“ your Majesty we know that you care for us but we just wish to know who these people are”

duke Nicholas said carefully.

“They are royalties if that's part of what you worry about and where they are from is what you will find out in two months time,

I will present them to you on the day of my wife queen Lucy's birthday. You all will be invited with your families to the ball” I explained calmly.

“Your majesty, we are glad you decided to explain to us even though not entirely “ Duke Miles said with a grateful look.

“I want you to go home and convince your stubborn daughters to concede,

and do not forget to warn them.

They will be coming for lectures from tomorrow and will stay in the palace from the day I announce their arrival and present them during the ball” I said firmly.

“Your majesty, we will convince our daughters,” Nicholas said sincerely.

He had always respected me just like the other two except Miles,

who only feared me and if not for that fear he would have gone extra miles to be the king which he can't do unless he wants to perish in a miserable way.

“I decided to talk about this since you didn't understand and felt a bit unsure but that shouldn't make you doubt my actions. I have talked to the other Dukes about it.

Williams said he will present his niece as his daughter is not fit to be present.

I am not only inviting your daughter's only but your relatives as well, now you may take your leave"

“ Long live your majesty” they chorused and I walked away as they bowed.

Walking through the corridor I met Queen Ruth who just came out of her carriage.

“good afternoon your majesty” she greeted as she curtsied.

“Greetings to you Queen Ruth, how are you doing?” I asked.

“Your Majesty, I'm fine, I went to order more clothes from Mrs Aria, a very talented seamstress. She said and I hummed, she glanced at me.

“Are you taking a walk my king so that I may join you as well?” she asked sweetly as she strikes a conversation.

It's been a long time since I've seen her yet she doesn't whine like Queen Monica but I don't have the time to walk with her.

“No Ruth I am not taking a walk but going somewhere, we can do that some other time” I replied.

I would have considered her request but I can't wait to see Lucy.

“Your majesty are you on your way to

queen Lucy's chambers” she asked but I know that she knew the answer to her question.

“ it's fine I know you are going there, but it would be nice of you if you will grant my wish of having a walk with you so as to ask for a favor from you my king”

she said once again.

She isn't scheming nor is she bad even though she is a handful at times I would have taken a walk with her now but I need to meet Lucy.

“Fine, we can do that tomorrow,” I said.

“Thank you, your majesty,”she said and left while I continued my journey to Lucy's chamber.
