"fine,fine I was asked to get fresh fruits for dad's mistress even though I bought them yesterday and there were still good yet she asked the maids to throw them away,

I had to trek as usual so I ended up spending a lot of time in the market, and lastly I didn't offend them so I wouldn't know why she would ask you to warn me when I did nothing bad.

you shouldn't worry too much you know you are not feeling too well, I will try my best to save up more and pay a doctor to treat you ok"

Snow said lovingly as she smiled at her mother

"I trust you dear Snow, you know I can add the ones you've given to me you know”

Lady Madeline replied wanting to make things easier for her but she knew her daughter well and her response to her suggestions.

“ Mother, I gave you those money so that whenever you want to buy some fabrics you would use them”

Snow said with a pout.

“But it is my health and I think I can help as well, right? you should not bear so much burden” Madeline said worriedly .

“It is not a burden. I will earn enough coins and treat you because I want you to be well again and you will, don't you agree with me?” she asked with a pout.

“I agree with you, sweet Snow, you're trying so hard for mom, so I have prepared your favourite cookies for you.

Don't forget to test the clothes tomorrow when I'm done sewing it you know mama loves you precious snow"

Madeline said.

She could see the tears that slipped from her daughter's eyes as she smiled brightly at her.

Lady Madeline pulled her into a hug and patted her back.

"Hush dear Snow everything would be alright okay, I just want you to know that I love you and you're my all".

"Yes mother, I know I'm only feeling happy and lucky to have you as my mother.

Mom I want to eat those cookies now because I'm hungry and your mouth watering cookies that makes my stomach grumble is all I need now"

she said and rushed to the table to eat the cookies.

"Go ahead , beautiful one.

I can actually hear your stomach grumble, you know,"

Lady Madeline said happily.

At least if her husband doesn't love her, she still has a rare gem that even though others hate,

she would always love her now and even when she comes back fully.

SNOW’S POV

'Good thing she didn't get to know about my encounter with sir Rogers else she would be extremely worried.

I wouldn't want that as it might trigger her illness which father had turn a blind eye to,

Saying that she was faking it just to get his attention and that makes me ask how he managed to flirt with her and even make love with her if mom irritates him.

Mother is a kind hearted woman, she cooks well, paints and draw perfectly which dad loves as well,

She can dance as well all these qualities are not found in his mistress yet he feels nothing for mom but instead he loves his mistress, there must be something wrong somewhere'

I thought as I ate the cookies.

I glanced at the clothes mom was making for me.

I remembered that I had to deliver some clothes to earn some money, I gasped.

"Mom, I need to deliver Mrs Aria's clothes at the palace,” I exclaimed.

“ it's alright take good care of yourself and extend my greetings to her”

she replied even though she was unwilling to let me go as she loved to stay with me.

“I will come back soon alright, see you later love you. I will eat the rest on my way"

I said as I kissed her on her cheek and packed the remaining cookies and rushed off.

I'm happy that Mrs Aria hired me. At least I will get two gold coins when I deliver the clothes to the royal family and I will be using a carriage too.

She was one of the few that didn't hate me nor did she judge me.

On reaching her shop after a long walk I went inside so that we could discuss more.

“Mrs Aria good day, I'm back, sorry I delayed” I apologized.

“Annie, it's fine, how is your mother doing?” she asked, concerned .

I smiled “she is fine and she extended her greetings to you as well”.

“Snow that's nice of her, but I am talking about her health.

She wasn't looking well the last time she came here to buy some clothes, unlike the other times her measurements were smaller now,” Lady Aria stated worriedly.

“she is not feeling well so I have to work and earn as much as I could so that I can get her treated”

I answered truthfully.

“what about the duke she doesn't have to hesitate to tell him even though they aren't that close now” she inquired.

“ mother told him severally but he wouldn't believe her he always thinks that mother is lying to get his attention” I replied, as my chest tightened.

“ I never expected your father to be this mean and blind it is unlike him but don't worry everything will be fine.

there would be sadness and there would joy as well in ones life it's better to be sad and become strong then rejoice later”

She tried to reassure me and it worked.

“ Thank you for your kind words, we will rejoice after these pains” I replied but said the rest more to myself.

“Snow you have to go home and then come back tomorrow the queen asked for more clothes when you went home and it would be ready by tomorrow as well as the delivery” she said calmly.

“I will come back tomorrow then take care”

“ and you too dear” she said and I left.
