ROXANNE

"The world is going round and round. Round and round. Round and round. The world is going round and round..."

Ethan and I kept singing to one of his favorite nursery rhymes, dancing and following the demonstration of Miss Pickett — the blonde lady with a kind expression dancing on the screen.

This was our fifth time replaying the video and Ethan didn't seem to be tired.

Whew! Kids had some next level energy.

"Mommy, are you tired?" He eyed my frame slowing down to the song.

His bandage had come off three days ago and he was declared healthy and perfectly strong to continue doing what energetic kids his age did.

"A little. Can mommy take a little rest while she watches you dance?" I asked almost pleadingly.

"Okay." He nodded.

I placed a kiss on his forehead, "thank you, baby."

I made myself comfortable on his bed, stretching my tired bones.

I watched him keep singing and dancing along, a huge smile on my face. I picked my phone to make a call.

I dialed Rochelle's number, but it was unavailable.

It's been a little over a month since I'd last seen Kylian and it was that night at his house. And he'd kept to his word and hadn't called since.

I wouldn't say it bothered me, but I, sometimes, found myself wondering what he was doing and if he was thinking of that kiss in his kitchen last night.

"The number you're calling is..."

I slid the red button to cut off the service provider's annoying automated response.

Rochelle's number had been unreachable for the past three weeks. I had decided to take Kylian's advice and call her. I didn't involve mom, nor asked her any question pertaining this sister I was supposed to have and that had supposedly gone to high school with me.

There came a knock on the door.

"Who's there?" Ethan yelled over Miss Pickett's voice.

"It's me, son."

"Oh. Daddy!" He ran to open the door to let Josh come in.

A huge smile spread across my features once he stepped in, looking handsome and smelling good as usual.

"Hey." I greeted with that foolish smile that usually took over my expression for the past few weeks since his attitude changed towards me.

He paid more attention to me. Had even taken me out on a date once when Vanessa had gone out.

And to my surprise, Patricia hadn't objected or given me that crazy glare she had made a signature look just for me.

I saw the gift before he even said it was mine.

Maybe he had changed, and it had taken spending the night with his brother twice to make him realize he loved me, and didn't want to lose me.

For now, we were going behind Vanessa's back, but before long, he would be telling her she was no longer needed in his life.

He handed Ethan a box wrapped gift.

"Thank you, daddy." Ethan grabbed the box, grinning, all of his white baby teeth in view.

"You're welcome." He straightened, his eyes lit affectionately once they laid on me, "hey."

Unable to control myself, I went to wrap him in a hug.

His arms slowly came about me, "how was your day?"

Inhaling the potent scent of his cologne, I answered with that same foolish smile still stuck on my face, "fine. And how was yours? Is business doing any better?"

He'd told me about the problems he was facing in his company on that date night. I felt pity for him. When he'd complained about how he was going to pay all of his staff, he looked so forlorn that I had to tell him to pay me whenever he could.

He kissed me and told me I was a very understanding woman and it was why he was very pleased to have me in his life.

I'd been on cloud nine that night and when I'd told mom, she'd said nothing.

I knew she didn't approve, but she also loved me enough to not want to ruin whatever made me happy.

She wouldn't understand how much of my heart belonged to Josh for the past five years. It wasn't easy to just let go.

"This is for you." He outstretched the small pink shopping bag towards me.

I took it, my heart jiving excitedly. In our five years of marriage, he'd never treated me to special gifts before.

But in the span of three weeks, I'd received more gifts than I ever had in my life.

Jewelry, chocolates, flowers.

"Thank you." My gaze held his lovingly.

"Daddy, kiss mommy." Ethan's small, confident tone broke me free from the staring contest I was engaged in with his father.

We both burst into chuckles.

"Now, daddy." He folded his little arms to watch.

Josh quickly leaned in to place a quick kiss between my brows. Then turned to his son, "satisfied now?"

Ethan nodded. "Yes. Now go, daddy. Mommy and I were having fun before you came in."

The little boy was already shoving his father by the leg out the door.

It was a funny sight that had laugh bubble in my throat. Josh, unoffended and laughing, pretended like Ethan was strong enough to push him out.

Once he was at the door, I waved at him and blew him a kiss but before I could get a reaction from him, Ethan was closing the door in his face.

"Ethan." I called, quirking a brow, not losing my smile.

"Daddy is going to distruct us." He shrugged, not regretting his actions.

My brain tried to process what he meant by 'distruct'. "Oh, you mean distract, honey?"

"Yes. Distract." He accepted my correction with a nod.

"Okay, fair enough."

I went back to watching him keep jumping and dancing and just generally doing whatever the famously-loved-by-kids Miss Pickett was doing on the screen, while I opened my gift and marveled at the sparkling bracelet.

"Oh wow." I murmured, heart caught in my throat.

And in that moment I knew that Josh's feelings for me was real. And that with Vanessa, he was just trying to curry favor using her family's name.

All I had to do was just let him get what he wanted from her and then he'd come back to me.

I clutched the bracelet to my chest, my eyes misty. "I'll wait for you, Josh. I'll wait till she's gone from your life."

  • So Long, Mr. CEO. I'm Now With Your Brother    In His Penthouse

ROXANNE "I can walk." I protested weakly as he lifted me off my bare feet into his arms."The hell you can," He muttered, anger flashing in his gaze as he saw my fresh injuries from this morning, "you look like a bag of bones.""Don't insult me." My words were supposed to depict my annoyance, but I was too weak to even try.I relented, letting my body relax in his arms, enjoying the feel of his body in close contact with mine. "Call my mom, please. I want to see her." I told him as he carried me into the gigantic glass building that spoke proudly of opulence. He said nothing. It was an apartment building, but the kind that was for those who were rich enough to afford it. Was he the landlord? Because only the landlord would live in the penthouse of an apartment building like this. Or maybe he was also a tenant. The elevator was fast and efficient. In no time, he was stepping out through the sliding steel doors, and heading for the only door on this floor. With me in his arms, he mana

  • So Long, Mr. CEO. I'm Now With Your Brother    Her Savior

ROXANNE "Argh!" The scream that tore through me drained the last of my energy. Another kick to my stomach, I coughed up blood. Then I was left alone. My bullies retracted to the dark side of the cell, laughing. "She's so puny." Their leader with mean tattoos and a scar running across the left side of her face mocked in her hoarse voice that told me she was a frequent smoker...or used to be. For the past one week, every morning, a cop would take me from my single cell and put me with these bullies and walk away. The first two times, I'd thought nothing of it. But the third time, I knew it was no coincidence. This was planned. And I could guess the three people who had me thrown in here were responsible. I've been told I would rot in jail. That I would be sent to prison on the basis of murder and attempted murder. Josh and Vanessa had visited once to rub it in my face and to tell me my fate.I curled my battered, wounded body, my bloodied lips trembling as hot tears ran down m

  • So Long, Mr. CEO. I'm Now With Your Brother    Her Mother's Cry For Help

KYLIAN"Oh fuck...Mmm," Iris grips tightened at the edge of the table, her moans rising, almost hitting the ceiling as I pounded hard into her.Her big, perky breasts slapping against each other.A low, lusty grunt rumbled in my throat. Oh fuck! "This is so good, Kylian...oh yes," her body quaked with pleasure. "I'm going to cum...fuck!" She let out in a voice thickened by desire. My hands gathered her curvy waist tighter, thrusting into her harder than before. I was also at the edge of lust, my seeds ready to spill."Oh fuck...I love you so much, Kylian..." She cried loudly as her pussy began to gush with her release, flooding my dick and making a wet mess on the floor of the bedroom in my penthouse.Seconds later, my dick spurted cum."Oh damn..." Slowly, I slipped my dick out of her pussy. I smacked her ass cheek. "Bad girl."She emitted a low chuckle, straightening to face me, "that was wonderful."I gently removed the wet, slippery condom loaded with my cum from my dick. "Yea

  • So Long, Mr. CEO. I'm Now With Your Brother    Chaos And Regret

ROXANNE "What do you need to see him for?" She eyed me maliciously, her finely carved brow arched."I need to see him. He needs to explain why he would give me fake jewelries that worth nothing and not pay me my salary!" My voice rose with each word in frustration, pain and anger. The smack of her hand across my cheek came swift and cracked loud. "Stop shouting in my home."I held my cheek, my blood boiling. Before I could control myself, the bag slipped through my fingers to fall beside me with a quiet thud. I lifted a hand and raised it down on her face, harder than she'd given me. "How dare you slap me, Vanessa?!""Roxanne, you shouldn't have." Mom stepped forward, suddenly frayed on nerves. "I'm so sorry, miss. Please...""You let your daughter slap me, you stinking old fool?!" Vanessa raged at mom as though she was the reason I'd hit her.I landed her another slap on that same side of the face, "don't you ever talk to my mother like that. If you don't respect yours, I respect

  • So Long, Mr. CEO. I'm Now With Your Brother    The Gifts He Bought Her

ROXANNE It's been three days since that incident. That same night, I'd secretly packed my bags, along with the gifts he'd gotten me and left the house to stay with my mom until I figured out what to do with my life. I laid in bed as always, tired of crying but somehow still able to produce tears. It was five forty five in the morning. Mom was dressed and ready to go to work. She gave me one pitying look and heaved a sigh, "you can't remain in bed forever, Roxy."I bit my dry, lower lip, tears welling to the surface of my hot, puffy, sleep-deprived eyes, I sniffled, snot causing nasal congestion. I was even beginning to feel sick.I wasn't just crying over Josh's betrayal, but also for the part I played in letting myself be stupid enough to believe his lies and manipulation the second time. "You need food, Roxy." She gathered her long, brown hair with silver strands into a tighter ponytail, braided the tail and wrapped it around at the base in a donut then had it stay in place wit

  • So Long, Mr. CEO. I'm Now With Your Brother    Sucker For Love

ROXANNE "Roxy." Mom's head poked in my room.My fingers trembled as I tried to minimize the page I was navigating on the tablet that belonged to Ethan.Mom, ever sharp and smart, frowned, let herself into my room without an invitation, approaching the bed, "what are you doing, Roxy?"I turned off the screen of the tablet. "Nothing.""Roxy?" She called in that motherly tone that never failed to make me feel guilty for keeping stuff from her. I heaved a sigh. "I cancelled my college application this year."Her eyes widened, "Roxy? Why would you do that? Is that not the reason you're working here? To save up money for college and I promised to add to it if it's not enough?"I shook my head, sitting up the bed, "I know, mom. But... there's just one tiny mishap."Her grey eyes roamed my frame, already hinting at what it was, but she asked anyways, "and what tiny mishap would that be?""I..." I bit my lower lip, "I haven't been paid."Her expression scrunched in disapproval, "but you told
