Tiana kept changing positions uncomfortably in the hospital's reception. Her whole body trembled and ached physically and emotionally. She never knew her mum would leave such vaccum in her heart.
Her sky blue shirt was stained with blood all over. She had tried to take her to the hospital herself but she was too heavy. She eventually ran to the gateman but Patricia was noway to be found throughout the afternoon.
The doctors drove her out of the room and assured her she'll be fine. But the look on her aunt's face, Auntie Chioma, her mum's younger sister proved every word Blake's mum said wrong.
She took her phone and tried Blake's number. Her cries welcomed him when he picked it.
"What's wrong? Talk to me Tiana!" He cried from the phone
"My ..mum.. was.." her tears was more than her words.
"Your mum was wha
Tiana's POV."Here you go" He leaned against the window to avoid the blunt shining light rays falling in to the room from outside. His room was at the house's wall with his window located right at the front of the building. He gaze fell on me and I tried to look away by feigning to stare at the pictures hung on the wall."Have you been in a relationship before" he suddenly asked, sounding so serious than ever.I sensed the conversation was getting sensitive and more serious so I adjusted on the bed and sat on my knees in Muslim style. The dress I believe he got from his sister for me barely reached my knees so I had to maintain a good sitting posture not to misbehave."No" I simply answered and his serious face soften into a smirk."I've been in one before. My first and last. It was so sweet and sour" he said with a mixture of anonymous.
This chapter is dedicated to all motherless children. May the Lord continue to be your shield your strength and uphold you. May he breastfeed you with strength to face and fight it till ever.Blake's POV"You're really strong. Inject strength into me to bear all situations into me" she said gently and slowly, pulling her gown up to reveal her fresh thigh."Hey! What do you think you're doing?" I smiled at her, almost pushing the chair backward in nothing."Oh I'm sorry. I was just teasing you. Now can I get an answer to my question?" She said, crossing her arms folding her arms.Immediately, I felt I need to break the news to her just then. There'll be no perfect time to do that more than this time. She seems to be in a perfect mood to even try to seduce me."The greatest thing that makes us stronger when we
Tiana's POV.I won't forgive myself if this is true."Dad!" I whispered with a shaky voice."Why are you being babyish about everything. What's wrong with what I did?" He sniffed and leaned over the door."You made me...in fact I thought... how could you?! I never knew this" I shuttered beneath tears."You see you can't understand a lot of things. You're still a kid and things..." He tried coax me but I cut him off."Ohhhh! It's okay. There's no point in arguing. The woman we're talking about is dead already, dad. You don't need to apologize" my head spanked hard in pain as I referred mum as a dead woman. The tears I tried to calm fell gently on my fingers.I'm still a kid. He is not the first nor second that would say that to me. Probably I'm still a kid as claimed. The scorching sun beat my fragile skin
Tiana's POV.It's time to talk."I..I came home yesterday to find her unconscious in the room.. So I... took her the hospital" I shuttered at first but corrected myself at the thought that everything I'm saying is being recorded and my tone of confidence would be noted.I looked up at her after I discovered she wasn't responding. She was just staring and smirking at me. My nervousness grew bigger and I adjusted on the chair. She then took a huge breath and stood up."Okay then, how many of you live in the house?" She asked, wearing a slight frown to note the relevance of the question."My mum, Patricia the cook and I" I replied."Really? When we got to your house yesterday, we could not trace the whereabouts of Patricia, do you have any idea of where she is?" She questioned intelligently."No"
Tiana's POV.A lasting red part.I paced the room absentmindedly. I'd sometimes kick some shoes and water bottles on the floor. I looked at Blake and he gave me a assuring smile. We're currently inside in the guest room in my aunt's place. She told our grandma would come today. I wonder how they'd break the news to her and bring her to Lagos. And besides, her daughter's corpse supposed to be laid to rest in the village unless they want to bury her in one of the cemetery in Yaba or something. It took me days to admit she was truly dead. I've accepted my fate and I cry less now. It's three days now and Mike is still on search while no one no knows the whereabouts of Patricia."How was school yesterday?" I decided to break the uncomfortable silence in the room."Ohhh.. School? Normal" he answered dryly.
Tiana's POV The dusty road path made me to scrunch my nose and eyes in irritation as the car drove on the main road of the village.I was in my usual, hoddie and joggers. I was never fashion crazy when nothing happened to me, let alone in a mourning mood. I just packed my hair in a bun and NY face was nothing to write about, it was make-up blank. Just few minutes ago, we saw some malnourished children ;big stomach and head with tiny legs, dusty and looking uncared for on the way. Their eyes lingered through scorching sun at our car in awe. They stopped immediately when they sighted the car from afar and their their playing cans with tensed faces and waited for us to pass by.Children at the age of 2-4 among them had clothes that barely reached their knees. Not deliberately from my judgement , those clothes looked like like they've been wearing since they were infants, but couldn't change them. The one that got to me most was two boys that were wearing a top that barely reached their
Tiana's POV."Mummy!" I screamed in total shock and fear. My swollen face looked stared at the face again and went calm. Little waters were on my lower lashes and my body was supported with my hand that was dug into the bedsheets. The room was dim with no light of sort. The figure was vaguely revealed be"It's me" the voice slowlyanswered back and cooled down in embarrassment. I had been mistaking my aunt for my dead mother."I'm sorry for the harassment" I apologized and sat quietly back."It's fine. Follow me, it's time for the burial" she held my hand and attempt to move but she looked back."Can you do this?" She asked.I trembled at the fact in the question. I was doubting myself if I'd be emotionally strong to hold myself, watching such horrible sight. But I can't miss it, I just can't be clueless about the
Everyday! You said in the words that I want you to stay! Cos I need you here with me. Tiana's POV.I walked along with a junior student on the Senior's block. I was about to decorate the main auditorium for the graduation of outgoing SS3 students. The junior's legs was faster than mine a bit. I wanted to tell him to slow down when I started hearing hush voices."Stop!" The first that I was hundred percent sure that it belonged to Blake said first."C'mon! Blake look, I've got all what you need. Please just... Just.."That voice _____ belongs to Shile. The voice belongs to that stupid girl.I felt barging into the classroom but I later changed the thought. I continued walking amidst thoughts to the hall.I decided to confront him during the first break time. No No I disagreed with my thoughts as I thought of something else of do.I'd not confront him. Rather, I'd pretend as I saw absolutely nothing! I'd not do as if I heard anything.I bounced to Nicholas and gave him a bro handshak
