Emily's POV;

I awoke in the middle of the night, not from a nightmare, but from my phone buzzing incessantly at my side on the bedside table. I groaned and took it away from the charger, only to see Asher's name on the screen. Asher? I realised it wasn't my phone that was vibrating, but Mr Hamilton's. Why is he calling now? is something wrong?

When I tried to wake Mr Hamilton, who was sleeping soundly next to me with his arm protectively thrown over me, he only grunted softly in response, so I decided not to wake him up for this. Instead, I picked up the phone and answered the call. Before I could say hello, Asher began speaking quickly, not giving me time to respond. The urgency of the situation was heightened by the tone and volume of his voice. "I don't have time to explain it over the phone, so please come to my house immediately." Asher hung up without waiting for my response.
