Aria's POV

“Let me go!” I demanded, struggling, but their grip was iron and my pleas seemed to amuse him.

“I’d love to let you go.” The first man said, his voice low, almost taunting. “But unfortunately, your father decided to use you as collateral.”

My stomach lurched and my mind spun, trying to make sense of his words. “Collateral?” I whispered, disbelief freezing my tongue. “Wh… what do you mean?”

He tilted my chin up with one hand, forcing me to meet his cold gaze. “Your father owes a significant debt. You, my dear, are the repayment so I’m afraid that I have no choice but to sell you to the slave traders to settle it.”

My day had started out pretty normal, with my regular physician job–the only thing that gave me joy from my fast crumbling life. As a weak wolf, volunteering at the clinic was the only way anyone could see relevance in me.

‘Slave traders,’ all my knowledge of English flew right out of my head on the spot. I had to take a minute to process, while struggling with the strong grip around my arm.

Who… Who are you?” I asked, two more figures dropped silently from the trees above, landing with near-perfect stealth, circling me and my heart raced.

My wolf knew this meant danger and my instincts screamed at me to run. I tried to, but any movement I made tighten his grip around my arm. I winced in pain. “Whatever this is, I'm sure we can talk about it and come up with a solution that works for us both,”

The gang leader laughed. “And she wants to negotiate,” he mocked. “Come here!” He pulled me forcefully, while the other two followed behind.

My whole life flashed before my eyes. I knew my father's gambling was bad. It had taken us from royalty to debt, after my mother's passing, but I knew giving me up was a line he wouldn't cross, or at least I hoped so.

“If you'd just give me a minute to relax my bladder,” I interrupted the rhythmic sounds of our feet on dry grass. His hesitation was obvious, but then he handed me over to the two men, who escorted me slightly away from the path.

One of the men stood a distance away and the other would not go more than one foot away from me. I bent down, pretending to relax my bladder when I stretched my leg and with a firm push in between his legs, I threw him on the ground.

I got up and ran as quickly as my legs could carry me.

“Hey! Come back here!” The second bolted after me immediately and that kind of chaos was not something the boss would miss. He joined in the chase almost immediately.

I bolted through the trees. I did not dare to look back. I could feel their wolves closing in on me, but then I soon began to recognize the environment. ‘I was almost home’. I took a sharp turn around the small town, which I had come to know very well and as soon as I was out of their sight, I hid in a giant fruit crate.

“Where is she?”

“She couldn't have gotten far,” I heard their voices from inside the crate. My legs trembled, even though I was bent to fit into the crate.

“Argh! Find her!” The gang leader kicked the crate and the movement forced a whimper out of me. I pressed my hands over my mouth, trying not to breathe. I knew the men were suspicious just by how quiet it had become outside.

I waited for almost an hour and only after I confirmed that the coast was clear did I sneak back out of the crate. The city had gone quiet. There was not a single person in sight.

Hunger and fear were my companions as I staggered through the lonely roads to the small wooden cabin I shared with my father.

“Well,” I heaved a sigh of relief and fell onto the couch as soon as I arrived home. My eyes closed immediately after my back hit the foam.

I made an adjustment, trying to find comfort in the work dress I was still putting on, but nothing worked. I opened my eyes to finally get a change. I usually took all the rest it was possible to get, before my next night shift.

“Ahhh!!” I yelled at the top of my voice as I sighted his hovering presence.

“Relax! It's just me,” my father held me in place. I scratched my eyes.

“Good morning, father,” I stretched open, getting up from the couch. From the brightest of the sun, you could tell it was already at least 7am.

“Good morning, Aria. You returned later than usual from work,” he noted. I walked over to the kitchen counter to make his breakfast, so I could return to sleep. I assumed it was the reason he woke me up.

“I encountered some kidnappers who said you had given up as collateral.” I turned my back to him, trying to turn on the fire. “I knew it was not possible. They were lying, so I had to come up with a plan for my…” I turned back around and found my father had company.

“What is going on here?” I recognized his company–the same three men who had tried to take me away just a few hours ago.

“I've told you before. Your father owes a huge debt,” I turned to my father. He was shivering and could only mouth ‘I’m sorry’, which felt very useless to me at the time.

“I suggest you corporate this time, because we're taking you–dead or alive,” the gang leader announced. I looked around, deciding whether to be taken dead or alive.

ARIA’S POV “Let me in!” I sat in front of the door, banging on it, but I got no response. With every passing day, the walls were emptier, the entire region was quieter. I felt weaker with no access to sunlight or fresh air.“Daryl!” I chased after her in the hallway, “Daryl!” Despite her strong effort to ignore me, I doubled my pace and double crossed her. Wookiees were powerful, but their speed was no match for a wolf–even the weakest of them.“What is going on? Why won't anyone say anything to me? Where is everybody?” I fired my questions without any break.“I have to go, Aria,” she wanted to walk by, but I adjusted and blocked her path.“No!” I yelled at the top of my voice. My voice carried all the emotions I was trying to bury inside, It came out as a strong roar. To my surprise, guards and maids and even the Queen, all gradually emerged.“I'm not going to allow you all to treat me like this. Not anymore.” I stood ten toes on the ground. “I'm demanding answers and somebody bet

  • Sold To A Cursed Alpha   Chapter 72

ARIA’S POV I sat on the bed, kicking my legs back and forth with my hands supporting my weight at the back. My stomach which had begun to bulge bent my elbow behind me.“Hey there,” he casually walked into my room.“Hey?” I removed my hand and slowly got up. “After weeks of disappearance, you're showing up with hey?”Darren pulled back a little. “Relax! What's the problem?” He kept his voice calm and it only pissed me off.“You did not just ask me what the problem is. You didn't…” I kept trying to bury my anger and frustration with chuckles, but it was evident that I was quickly losing it.“For weeks now, I've been a prisoner here. No one would speak to me and if I do speak to anyone, no one responds to me.” I lashed out, “I haven't seen you or any member of the royal family in weeks. I know you all are avoiding me.”I scoffed, “I mean, I realize I'm trouble to you, but it's the more reason you should let me go! Rather than keep me here and continually punish me for an offense I do

  • Sold To A Cursed Alpha   Chapter 71

ARIA’S POV The royal family stormed out of my room without a word. I ran after them, but before I got to the door, it was locked from the other side.“Let me out! Hello? Somebody!” I yelled at the top of my voice, but there was dead silence. I didn't even hear their footsteps walking away from the door. The next few hours were the longest and the most difficult in my life. It was like running away from the slave traders over again, because I was in the dark, unaware of what was happening. My fate was being discussed or maybe fought for and I had no idea what was happening. I was vulnerable and weak.I would go to the door every once in a while, bang on it and yell for anyone, but I got no response. It didn't matter how loud I screamed. The fact there was no window to look out of made it even worse. “Aria,” I heard a soft call. I immediately jumped on my feet–disoriented but conscious.“What? What is happening?” I probed. Darren held me from falling, since I was quite dizzy and

ARIA’S POV The silence was extremely weighty. “You didn't know,” he said in a soft tone of realization.“I was pregnant, but I lost the baby. If that's what you're asking.” I defended myself. It terrified me and sounded impossible that the Wookiees had the power to know the past, but so far, the possibilities were endless and I had to keep that in mind.Darren looked confused. “There is no baby,” I sounded very certain.“I don't know what you're talking about, but I do know you are carrying a child…” he said and then followed with a sigh, “just like she was,” the weight in his tone was undeniable.“She was…Daria?” I probed. The emotions in the atmosphere grew even more intense.“Wolves and Wookiees don't mix like that and she knew,” he shared, “especially after what they did.” I saw tears welling in his eyes, “she chose to keep his baby at the expense of her life.” my heart broke.I had seen Darren as nothing but evil and terrifying. I had heard his thunderous voice and seen the dr

  • Sold To A Cursed Alpha   Chapter 69

ARIA’S POV “I'm so sorry,” I shook my head, compassion overflowing from my heart, my eyes filled with tears.“My sister, Daria, didn't mind the long lasting war. Her heart chose a wolf, even after we got banished to the ends of the earth.” Daryl proceeded, “eventually, her choice cost her her life and that was when Darren went dark,”“He took away all the colors of the Wookiees. They were twins and the bond they shared, no one could understand it.” She took a deep breath, “sometimes I get jealous. Even in her death, I still come second to her. We all do, at least with Darren.”I knew how dark losing someone special could be. I knew what it meant to lose every reason to live after someone's passing. The pain in grief in Daryl's eyes were still fresh, even though what she shared happened hundreds of years ago.A drop of tear trickled down her cheek. I drew closer to her and threw my arms around her, pulling her into an embrace. We sat in that silence, drawing relief from the comfort

ARIA’S POV “Daryl, take your food up to your room right now!” Darren yelled at her in the thunderous voice I had first heard. In my confused state, I knew Daryl had crossed a line, although the mother's look felt like Darren was overreacting. With a long face, Daryl took her meal and walked out of the dining room.“What replacement?” The silence between Darren and his mother wasn't good enough for me. I needed answers–answers no one was willing to give me.“Excuse me!” Darren was the next person to leave the table. He got up angrily and walked away too. His mother did not hesitate to follow. I was left alone in dim illumination, trying to piece things together to figure out just how much trouble I was in.In the few hours of consciously being around here, I hadn't seen a single window or door. I couldn't just up and leave. I had no idea where I was. Darren saved me from the beast in the woods, what if I wasn't so lucky this time?I pushed my food away, completely losing my appeti
