EPISODE 11 – THE HUMAN SLAVE

"I'm leaving now."

That was the beast’s formal statement as he turned and walked out the door. I watched him go silently. Once he was gone, the old woman turned to face me. I could tell she was old, not just from her voice, which had the rasp of age, but from the strands of white beginning to mix with her black hair, which was tied neatly in a bun. She looked at me intently while I sat on the bed, my mouth shut tight.

“What is your name?” she asked me gently.

I was a little surprised.

Her tone had changed so suddenly from the formal and serious way she spoke to the beast earlier, to this gentler, softer manner.

“You can call me Lilia,” she said with a faint smile. “I’m one of those in charge of this servant’s den. This is where omegas live, those whose role is to obey the commands of anyone above their rank. They also serve at the pack’s main hideout, where you came from with Alpha Bruno. And now, you’ll be one of those doing their work.”
